Abstract

Obesity has become a global problem in the world and showed a sharp upward trend. Coincide with the increasing in obesity, also known as metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a complex metabolic disorder caused by an increasing in obesity. Several  groups of studies suggest that obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia and hypertension are the major component MS. Based on data from Public Health Center in Arosbaya-Bangkalan Madura, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and disorders of lipid metabolism showed a fairly high number of patients in each year. The aim of this research was to analyze the relationship of nutrition status with metabolic syndrome phenomenon in Arosbaya District, Sabuh Village Bangkalan-Madura. This research was an observational study with cross sectional study approach Chi-square statistical test. The samples used were 70 people who are society of Sabuh Village. Variable consists of a Body Mass Index (BMI) as independent variables, and components of the metabolic syndrome that includes waist circumference, fasting blood glucose, triglycerides as the dependent variable. The results showed a significant relationship between nutrition status and some components of the metabolic syndrome (α <0.05). From the analysis it can be concluded that nutrition status has an influence on the phenomenon of metabolic syndrome. Adopting a healthy lifestyle is one of the prevention of obesity and other comorbidities.

Abstract

Backgrounds : In medicine faculty specially in oral health university of Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya, extracting is the most common cases in clinic. As we know geriatry patients needs this treats too. The newest reports explain that estrogenes affected production of collaagens. Collagens are needed for asselarate wound healing. Menopause process decrease production of estrogen, so it can be influance for collagens output product.Purpose : This experimental to discribe the connection between menopause with clinical wound  healing process after tooth extraction at the Poli Gigi Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya. Methodes : This experimental use wound healing scale use parameters Tumor (swelling), Rubor (hyperemia) and Dolor (pain) Results : In this study used 20 patients divided two groups, menopause and non menopause group. There was a significant difference between menopause group and non menopause group in the third day and the fifth day after tooth extracted. For geriatry patients need dental care, specially tooth extraction. The complication in this age is delayed wound healing. For woman cases has many degeneration problems, one of this is because oldery ages woman has fisiology prosess menopause periode. Menopause is a regeneration process makes ovarium stops producting ovum. It was effected for maturation ovum and distrubing production of collagens. Collagens have main factors for wound healing process. In this articles, writer tried to connected the relations delayed wound healing in woman that have been in menopause period in case extracted teeth. Conclusion : There is a significant different between wound healing menopause and non menopause. The menopause the process wound healing takes more longer than non menopause.

Abstract

Biofilms are formed in the surfaces of mucosal of the body cavity can be a major source of infection . Infection by microbial biofilm formers are difficult to treat because of their greater resistance to antimicrobial agents than individual cells . Therefore biofilm -related infections and increased the economic burden of the country. The purpose of this literature review is to examine literature on biofilms and biofilm-associated microbes and their contribution to the disease burden of man with the aim of drawing attention to their public health implication.Biofilm are defined as “collections of microorganisms and their associated extracellular products at an interface and generally attached to a biological and non-biological substratum. Biofilm formation are influenced by factors controlling cell attachment, nature of surface, propertis of medium, and properties of the microbial cell surface. The ability of biofilm formation is genetically regulated by ica ABDC operon. Biofilm life cycle include adhesion of cells, formation of microcolonies, formation of biofilm and detachment anddispersal of biofilm. Structure of biofilm consists microorganisms and extracellular polymeric substances with vertical structures of microorganisms sometimes take the form of towers or mushrooms which are separated by interstitial spaces. Bacterial biofilm showed increased resistance to antibiotics, disinfectants and resistant to phagocytosis and other mechanisms of innate and adaptive immune system. Biofilms associated with food borne illness and affect to food security. Biofilms have been implicated in a wide variety of microbial infections in the body such as as urinary tract infections, catheter infections, middle-ear infections, formation of dental plaque, gingivitis, legionellosis ,infections involving contact lenses, and less common but more lethal processes such as endocarditis, infections in cystic fibrosis, and infections of permanent indwelling devices such as joint prostheses and heart valves. It is important for government agencies with a mandate for safeguarding public health and environment to develop and adopt ap propriate health risk assessment and biofilm-specific guidelines that are protective of both public health and the environment.

Abstract

Moringa Oleifera is a plant that contains chemical compounds that are useful, such as flavonoids. The ability of this flavonoid compound that can capture free radicals cause damage and hepatoprotektan hepar. Purpose of study was to determined levels of Moringa leaf extract which can overcome the effects of liver damage caused by toxic doses of paracetamol through MDA, SGOT and SGPT Method used in this laboratory experimental study is a Randomized Post Test Only Control Group Design with the following stages: 1. Moringa Leaf Extraction with Ethanol 96%; Try 2.Preparasi animals, 3. Treatment of Animals Try the extract of leaves of Moringa 3 dose is: 250mg / 200BB rat (dose of A), 500mg / 200BB mice (dose B), 1000mg / 200BB mice (dose C) for 14 days in combination with paracetamol 2 g / 200BB mice, compared to the negative control group (group given just paracetamol 2 g / 200BB rat) and the positive control group (the group who were given regular feed) for 14 days. Results : turned out to be no difference in the reduction in SGOT levels are statistically significant between the negative control group with high-dose treatment group ie the dose C with =0,016 smaller than 0.05, whereas a decrease in ALT levels were significantly decreased in the treatment group high dose is the dose C with =0,009 smaller than 0.05. While MDA group treated with the negative control group experienced an overall decline for the dose A with =0,05, dose B with =0,0011 and dose C with =0,001. Conclusion of this study showed that the extract of Moringa leaves can be potentially as an antioxidant in all doses at once can be as hepatoprotektor at high doses is 1000mg / 200BB Rattus Novergicus.

Abstract

Introduction : Hypertension is a disease with an incidence rate is still high around the world, most of the causes of hypertension is unknown (essential hypertension / primary hypertension), a small portion of hypertension caused by diseases acquired (secondary hypertension). The unknown cause of Hypertension causing complications of diseases that worsen it, eg kidney disease (renal disease), and can be a disease that actually cause hypertension becomes more severe (secondary hypertension). Pathophysiology of essential hypertension has been a lot of discussed, but the pathophysiology of renal disease which causes hypertension still needs to be explored, particularly on the relationship between primary hypertension and secondary hypertension (hypertension, kidney or renal hypertention). Kidney disease is a disease that cause hypertension via the mechanism of resistance increases blood circulation to the kidneys and a decrease in the glomerular capillary function which resulted in the release of an important substance-substance such as renin, angiotensinogen, angiotensin I, angiotensin II, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, aldosterone, bradykinin, nitric oxide (NO), which in turn causes increase blood pressure (hypertension). Hypertension proved to be a feedback mechanism to suppress the high renin, renin suppression doesn’t mean anything if kidney disease not treated properly, and even cause permanently hypertension or even getting worse. The purpose of this article was to determine the pathophysiology of hypertension, renal hypertension in particular, and how the relationship between hypertension and renal hypertension (secondary).

Abstract

Lungs as place where the gases exchange inside the body is related to enviroment sorrounding. Usage of electric mosquito repellent that contained allethrin on certain period can inflict lung’s abnormalities. The aim to this research is to find the effect of fumes exposure from the electric mosquito repellent that contained allethrin to weight and colour of rat’s lungs. The research was experimental laboratory. 24 male rats strain Wistar that devided into 4 groups, which were group 1 control (P0) without exposure, group 2 (P1) exposed 4 hours a day, group 3 (P2) exposed 6 hours a day and group 4 (P3) exposed 8 hours a day. In 30 th day, the rats terminated in the order to taken their lungs organ by operation. The purpose of taken the lungs was analyzed lung’s weight and alteration of its colour. The acquired data process by Anova test for weight analysis, and Kruskal Wallis test for colour change analysis, respectively with significant value (α < 0,05). The result of anova test is (α = 0.004) and kruskal wallis test is (α = 0,001), that to mean there are significan differentiation in group. Conclusion of this research : there was an effects of fumes exposure of electric mosquito repellent that contain allethrin against the weight and colour of the rat’s lungs. That effect on the lungs occour because collaps of the alveolus or lungs.
