Abstract

Until now there is no theory that says the exact cause of ADHD, but some theories say there are various contributing factors, including: genetic, minimal brain damage, neurobilogi, neurokimiawi, psychosocial, food, et cetera. In the last decade considerable amount of research that proves that neurological factors have a role and a significant influence on the development of ADHD. Thats why understanding the neurological aspect of ADHD is needed to be done as early handling and seholistik possible so that it can reduce the negative impacts that can occur both in children with ADHD, parents, schools, and communities.

Abstract

Because 85% of cancer cases in the world, numbering around 493 000 to 273 000 deaths, occur in developing countries. And Indonesia is the number of patients with cervical cancer has the second largest after China. It is necessary to factor determines the approximately what terytama largest contributor to the founder of the world, especially in Indonesia. After reviewing the literature-based literature and several studies have been done dibeberaspa note that many events where Cervix ca nothing to do with the low level of maternal knowledge about Ca cervix high risk, particularly on cervical Ca risk factors and possible prevention of bias carried out. For that need to be encouraged socialization matters related to the Ca cervix in general to the community and especially to iwanita age range 20-30 years, because it shows that cervical cancer occurs at age 31-60 years.

Abstract

Cutaneous Larva Migrans or Creeping eruption is a skin lesion in humans caused by infection with larvae of animal hookworms Ancylostoma caninum and Ancylostoma especially braziliense. Transmission occurs through the skin and will occur in the epidermal groove winding erythematous - serpentine. Although thissyndrome can be cured by itself but the itching and the risk of secondary infection is very high. Thiabendazole is an anthelmintic options to combat the transmitting worm larvae.

Abstract

Various stimuli both physical, chemical, psychological, or psychosocial disorderspose a threat to the homeostasis of the body system can trigger the stress response. Various stressors can cause a variety of specific responses to specific stressor, but in addition to specific responses, all stressors also cause a general response to the same effect whatever its type of stressor.

Abstract

Twenty four of thirty drinking water samples taken from each gallons has been identified as containing some bacteria with TPC indicator number 1 to 22 CFU/ml. TPC number of whole samples shows that the bacteria number tend to increase after it stored in water dispenser for some period of time. In two days, the TPC number has reached 2 to 98 CFU/ml, and after four days it reached 3 to 166 CFU/ml. Research shows that he three samples are not consumable after it stored in water dispenser for four days, since it contains bacteria with TPC number more than 100 CFU/ml. The increase of bacteria numbers, as the water stored in dispenser, might be caused by the reproduction of bacteria which has initially contaminated the drinking water. Otherwise, the increase of TPC number might also be caused by the bacteria in water dispenser itself. It is recommended for the consumer to clean the water dispenser before they exchange the gallons to prevent bacteria contamination in their drinking water.

Abstract

Genes that promote autonomous cell growth in cqncer cells are called oncogenes, and their normal cellular counterparts are called protooncogenes. Protooncogenes are physiologic regulators of cell proliferation and differentiation, oncogenes are characterized by the ability to promote cell growth in the absence of normal mitogenic signals. Their products, called oncoproteins, resemble the normal products of protooncogenes with the exception that oncoproteins are devoid of important regulatory elements.Their production in the transformed cells becomes constitutive, that is, not dependent on growth factors or other external signal. Each of the cancer genes has a specific function, the dysregulation of which contributes to the origin or progression of malignancy. It traditional to describe cancer- causing genes on the basis of their presumed function.Mutations in genes that regulate these cellular traits are seen in every cancer. However, the precise genetic pathways that give rise to these attributes differ between cancers, even within the same orhan. It is widely believed that the occurrence of mutations in cancer-causing genes is conditioned by the robustness of the DNA repair machinery of the cell. When genes that normally sense andrepair DNA demage are impaired or lost, thevresultant genomic instability favors mutations in genes that regulate the other acquired capabilities of cancer cells.

Abstract

Acording to the data in the journal of Diabetes Care 2004, DM patient in Indonesia in 2000 reach 8,4 million people. And ranked 4th after India, Cina and USA. Population will increase more than two times in 2030, reach 21,3 million people. This study was to prove effect of extract juwet seed in blood glucose level in mice after induction of Streptozotocin (STZ). This was experimental study using white male BALB/c strain mice, 10 weeks old with bodyweight of 25-35 grams. Group 1 was received no STZ and extract juwet seed sacrified in 3th day. Group 2 was received STZ but no extract juwet seed , sacrified in 3th day. Group 3 was received STZ but no extract juwet seed, sacrified in 18 th day. Group 4 was received STZ and received extract juwet seed. Group 5 was received no STZ and extract juwet seed, sacrified in18th day. Fasting blood glucose and 2 hours after given oral glucose was examined in 3th day and in 18th day.  There was significant difference between group those received STZ and received no extract juwet seed and those that received STZ but received no extract juwet seed in the result of Anova analyzed for fasting blood glucose level (p<0,05) and Anova analyzed showed significant difference (p<0,05) between blood glucose level 2 hours after given glucose who received STZ but received no extract juwet seed and those who received STZ and received extract juwet seed. The conclusion of this experiment was the level of fasting blood glucose and level blood glucose 2 hour s after given glucose of mice who received STZ and received no extract juwet seed less than in mice who received STZ and received extract juwet seed.

Abstract

Recently encountered the resistance to the use of single-dose ciprofloxacin as therapy gonorrhea, so it mustconsider the use of other drugs as an alternative. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of the drug ciprofloxacindivided doses (2 X 500 mg. for five days) to prevent gonorrhea disease resistance. From the results of this study can beseen, that the administration of Ciprofloxacin therapy divided doses (2 X 500 mg per day up to 5 days) for patientsurethriris gonorhoea, it shows significantly better results when compared with single dose of 1500 mg.

Abstract

Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) is a naturally occurring chemical found in blood plasma. It is a metabolic by-product of continual protein modification processes in the cytoplasm of all human cells. It is closely related to L-arginine, a conditionally-essential amino acid. ADMA interferes with L-arginine in the production of nitric oxide, a key chemical to endothelial and hence cardiovascular health. ADMAconcentration is elevated in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), in part because it is excretedvia the kidneys.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is influence of temperature and storage time on vitamin C content in guava. This study is an experimental research menggunkan Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors and two repetitions. Of the two factors were obtained eight combinations of treatments. Each - each treatment was repeated twice, in order to obtain 16 replicates. The parameters used were vitamin C content in guava. Guava that has been stored in a specific time and temperature peel and blend until homogeneous to obtain slurry. Furthermore slurry disentrifuge guava and filtered. Filtrate obtained its vitamin C content determined by titration method Iodometri. Data obtained with ANOVA dinalisis. If there is any real difference followed by Least Significant difference test (LSD). Results showed that storage time and temperature affect the levels of vitamin C in guava fruit ripe. The longer the storage time and the higher the temperature the lower the vitamin C content. Vitamin C content in guava stored at room temperature for 10 days decreased by 46.35% and the cold temperature is only 39%.
