Abstract

Environment knowledge is collection of facts, information and the principles of concerning something that there are around living things. Environment knowledge related to problem solving skills that is the process of applying of knowledge which has previously obtained into a new situation unknown. The purpose of this study is to find correlation environment knowledge with the problem solving skills about environmental pollution. The study was conducted in April-May 2016 at SMAN 6 Tangerang. The research methodology was survey with the study correlation. Samples were taken at random with Simple Random Sampling technique, as many as 127 students of science tenth grade. Prerequisite test showed data normal and homogeny. Regression model Ŷ = 24,24 + 1,10X that significance and had a linier correlation. Correlation values obtained 0,42 which was sufficient criteria. Coefficient of determination test showed that 17,62% of environmental knowledge contribute to the problem solving about environmental pollution. The conclution of this study there was positive correlation between environmental knowledge and problem solving environmental pollution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa SMA dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran aktif-kooperatif tipe Listen-Say-Arrange (LSA) pada subkonsep sistem imun manusia. Metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi-Experimental, desain penelitian Static Group Pretest-Posttest Design, melalui pengadaan kelas kontrol. Populasi penelitian ialah kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 10 Bandung, dengan sampel sebanyak 2 kelas, yaitu kelas XI IPA 1 (kelas kontrol) dan XI IPA 2 (kelas eksperimen). Instrumen penelitian berupa tes objektif yang mengukur ranah kognitif dalam bentuk pilihan ganda sebanyak 20 butir soal yang diberikan melalui pretest dan posttest. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil penelitian, diperoleh nilai rata-rata ) pretest kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional (ceramah) sebesar 52,62 dan nilai rata-rata ) posttest sebesar 68,91. Sedangkan pada kelas eskperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran aktif-kooperatif tipe LSA, diperoleh nilai rata-rata ) pretest sebesar 56,58 dan nilai rata-rata ) posttest sebesar 77,58. Setelah diketahui hasil pretest dan posttest tiap kelas maka dilakukan uji-t, kemudian diperoleh hasil uji-t nilai pretest dan posttest kelas kontrol dengan thitung (4,85) > t0,01 (66) (2,66) yang berbeda secara signifikan, serta pada hasil uji-t nilai pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen dengan thitung (8,54) > t0,01 (72) (2,65) yang berbeda secara signifikan pula. Pengujian dilanjutkan dengan perhitungan N-Gain, dimana kelas kontrol memperoleh N-Gain sebesar 0,34 dan kelas eksperimen memperoleh N-gain sebesar 0,48. Kriteria nilai N-Gain pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen sama-sama termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran aktif-kooperatif tipe LSA pada subkonsep sistem imun manusia dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Efikasi diri dan penalaran ilmiah merupakan faktor internal dalam diri siswa yang memiliki peran penting untuk hasil belajar siswa. Siswa dengan efikasi diri dan penalaran ilmiah yang tinggi akan mencapai hasil belajar yang tinggi dan begitu juga sebaliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara efikasi diri dengan hasil belajar, hubungan penalaran ilmiah dengan hasil belajar, serta hubungan efikasi diri dan penalaran ilmiah secara bersama-sama dengan hasil belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif korelasional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 85 siswa dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling pada siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 22 Jakarta. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 menunjukkan bahwa: 1) terdapat hubungan antara efikasi diri dengan hasil belajar siswa (r = 0,742), 2) terdapat hubungan penalaran ilmiah dengan hasil (r = 0,648), dan terdapat hubungan antara efikasi diri dan penalaran ilmiah secara bersama-sama dengan hasil belajar siswa (r = 0,749).

Abstract

The low score of students learning outcome on Kingdom Animalia concept indicate that there must an improvement of students retention. The aim of this study is to know the effect of reciprocal teaching learning model that integrated with mind map and persistence on students retention. The method that used in this research is quasi experiment with 2 x 2 factorial design. The instruments that used in this research are learning outcome test and persistence questionnaire. The subject of this study is students of X IPA 1 and 2 from SMAN 49 Jakarta totalling 72 students. Samples were taken using simple random sampling. Analysis of data used two way anova. The result showed that : 1) There is effect of reciprocal teaching learning model integrated mind map on students retention with p< 0,05, p = 0,03. 2). There is effect of persistence on students retention with p< 0,05, p = 0,00. 3) There is interaction between reciprocal teaching learning model integrated mind map and persistence on students retention with p< 0,05, p = 0,031.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah dalam pendidikan di Indonesia yaitu masih adanya miskonsepsi yang dialami oleh peserta didik sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Miskonsepsi pada materi Sistem Saraf secara keseluruhan yaitu sebesar 25.47%. Pada sub materi mekanisme impuls saraf mengalami miskonsepsi sebesar 4.37% dengan persentase jumlah peserta didik yang tidak paham paling tinggi dibanding sub materi lain yaitu sebesar 8.26%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran Biologi berupa film pendek pada materi Sistem Saraf, khususnya materi mekanisme impuls saraf. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam pengembangan media ini adalah metode Research and Development model pengembangan Borg dan Gall. Validasi dilakukan oleh 2 ahli yaitu ahli media dan ahli materi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Kolmogorov Smirnov. Uji efektivitas menggunakan uji t. Hasil menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran berkategori baik dan media efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Sumatran tiger are one of the potential biodiversity populations which continue to decline. One of the few causes of this can occur because of human activities and actions unfavorable to the environment. Therefore, people need to have an attitude of conservation of Sumatran tiger. One of the factors that influence the attitude is knowledge. The study aims to determine the correlation between knowledge with the attitude of the Sumatran tiger conservation. The research was conducted in the village of Batu busuk, West Sumatra in May 2016. The method used was survey method with correlational studies. Data was normally distributed and homogeneous. The simple regression equation is Ŷ = 110,936 + 0.414X. Correlation coefficient obtained is 0,14 which means that there is a correlation between knowledge and towards Sumatran tiger conservation. Knowledge of Sumatran tiger conservation accounted for 1,92% of the behavior towards Sumatran tiger conservation. The result of this study concluded that there was positive correlation between knowledge and attitude of Sumatran tiger conservation.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the correlation between comprehension reading skill and higher-order thinking skill with scientific literacy skill for senior high school biology teacher. This research was conducted in Kabupaten Bekasi using 64 senior high school biology teachers as samples. Samples were taken by using Simple Random Sampling. The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative and research hypothesis tested by Pearson Product Moment in α=0,05. The results obtained correlation coefficient value between: comprehension reading skill with scientific literacy skill is 0.280; higher-order thinking skill with scientific literacy skill is 0.252; comprehension reading skill and higher-order thinking skill simultaneously with scientific literacy skill is 0.321. Coefficient of determination test showed that: 7,8% of comprehension reading skill contribute to scientific literacy skill; 6,4% of higher-order thinking skill contribute to scientific literacy skill; 10,3% of comprehension reading skill and higher-order thinking skill contribute to scientific literacy skill. Hope this result research can be a basic reference for further research.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is the major purpose in learning science for 15 year-old students before they learn science in separated field such as physics, biology, and chemistry. The aim of this research was to determine the correlation between higher-order thinking skillS and level of intelligence with scientific literacy on junior high school students. This research involved 189 students grade IX in East Jakarta as the samples. The method used in this research was descriptive quantitative and using multiple correlation to test the hypothesis. The writer collected the data by utilizing PISA 2009’s scientific literacy test and Kamalia 2011’s higher order thinking skills test. Research hypothesis tested by Pearson Product Moment correlation with α=0,05. Coefficient of correlation was 0,350, it means that there was positive correlation between comprehension reading skill, higher-order thinking skill, and level of intelligence with scientific literacy on junior high school students

Abstract

Scientific literacy is define as the capacity of use scientific knowledge in order to understand and help make decision about the natural world and the changes made it through human activity. Teachers are a major factor in the success of learning, therefore it is necessary to test the scientific literacy skill of biology teacher students. This study aims to find out science literacy of biology teacher students and the corellation between of integrated science process skill, and reading comprehension skill of biology teacher students to their scientific literacy skill. The method for this research used the survey method with correlational studies. The sample of this research is 81 students of biology teacher students of Jakarta State University. The results shows that the scientific literacy of biology education students is destitute. It is shown from the average score of their scientific literacy skill which is 45.58. This study shows that correlation coefficient obtained is 0,457 which means that there is correlation between integrated science process skill with scientific literacy skill. This study also shows that there is correlation between reading comprehension skill with with scientific literacy skill which correlation coefficient obtained is 0,214.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop eco-friendly website in Biology learning which based on project activities for environmental pollution based on the National Curriculum. This Research and Development (R & D) using Borg and Gall strategy. The research data was gathered using quality evaluation eco-friendly website questionnaire, portfolio assessment sheet, pretest and posttest questions, student’s respond questionnaire, and interview sheet. Data analysis and discussion result has proved that (1) the eligibility of eco-friendly website based on the evaluation of the content expert, media expert and peer reviewer is excellent; based on the student’s evaluation, good. (2) The ability of student’s cognitive increased after having the Biology class activities in the eco-friendly project. Based on this research result, it is suggested to have further research to know the effectiveness of the eco-friendly website implementation toward the increase of student’s interests and learning motivation and other research variables. Moreover, eco-friendly website can be developed into a mobile application which can be accessed in any Android and iOS gadgets.
