Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinant factors that influence consumer purchasing decisions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seventy-five respondents were selected with the criteria of having purchased processed food products made from vegetables and fruits online and offline during the COVID-19 pandemic in Malang. The analytical method used was a regression with the logit model. The dependent variable is the purchase decision, while the independent variables used include social trust (related to handling) to merchants, social trust (related to handling) to couriers, positive information (benefit-centered), negative information (risk-centered), labeling, and government support. The results showed that each variable positively influences purchasing decisions, but only one variable has a significant effect, namely labeling. This research suggests that producers can develop marketing for processed food products by adding complete labeling, such as halal labels.

Abstract

Intake of animal protein in food consumption patterns is very decisive for a person to live a healthy, active, and productive life. This study aims to analyze of consumption and estimation of food demand for animal sources in Indonesia. This analysis used the AIDS model to estimate the elasticity of food demand and use linear equations to estimate food demand of animal sources in 2020-2025. Results showed the consumption of food for animal sources in Indonesia still did not meet the recommended nutritional adequacy rates. Animal commodities are responsive to prices and income changes. The value of the elasticity of demand for animal food was all negative accordance with the law of demand which has a negative direction. For income elasticity the value of income elasticity for whole animal protein source food commodities was positive. The estimation of consumption showed that the demand for animal meat in the period 2020-2025 continues to increase along with income and population growth. To meet the need of animal protein, in addition to the current program to achieve food of animal sources self-sufficiency, it is necessary to strive to increase production based on minimum food demand estimation.

Abstract

The demand for soybean needs continues to increase every year. This is not matched by productivity. The role of the government is to attract farmers to conduct business by providing subsidies. Even though they haven't reached the productivity target, some farmers conduct the early harvest. Therefore, this study aims to: 1) determine the R/C ratio of young soybean pods and old soybean pods commodity, knowing the breakeven point of productivity and prices of young soybean pods and old pods. The location selection was carried out purposively (purposive) and the determination of respondents using purposive sampling technique with a total of 39 respondents. Data sources used secondary and primary data. The data collection method was conducted by interview. This research used R/C ratio analysis, breakeven analysis of productivity and price. The results showed that the R/C ratio of commodity young soybean pods> 1.23, old pods = 1. The breakeven point of productivity and price of young pods was 523 kg/ha, IDR 763 kg and old pods 708.21 kg/ha, IDR 1,214, 93 kg, this exceeds the breakeven point of productivity and price and thus results in a profit. Therefore, there is a need for the government to play a role in setting prices for old soybean pods to attract farmers to cultivate old soybean pods.

Abstract

The milk pasteurization process at CV Cita Nasional requires raw milk, sugar, and flavors with an optimum formulation, as well as efficient and effective human resources. How to obtain the formulation optimum and allocative efficiency from the use of production factors of fresh milk, sugar, flavor, and human resources on the amount of pasteurized milk production? The research objectives were to analyze the influence of production factors of raw milk, sugar, flavor, and human resources toward the amount of pasteurized milk production and to analyze the allocative efficiency of the use of production factors. The research method used was secondary data analysis of pasteurized milk production records using daily time series data for ninety-one days. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression and calculation of the level of production allocative efficiency. The results showed that raw milk had a significant influence, while sugar and flavor did not have a significant influence. However, all independent variables had an influence on pasteurized milk production. The allocative efficiency of the raw milk production factor was 4.10, sugar was -0.10, and food flavor was - 1.53. This result shows that the raw milk and flavor production factors did not meet the allocative efficiency, while the sugar was not allocative efficient. Dynamic production requires the management of human resources to obtain an effective and efficient job distribution.

Abstract

Pasemah Air Keruh District is one of the biggest Robusta coffee-producing areas in Empat Lawang Regency. This research aims to (1) determine the channels and marketing functions; (2) determine the structure, conduct, and performance of the market. Sampling methods used were snowball and simple random sampling. The data analysis methods used were (1) descriptive analysis to explain the channels and marketing functions; (2) structure, conduct, and performance analysis to explain marketing efficiency based on surveys, observations, and interviews using a questionnaire. The results showed that there are two marketing channels, (1) coffee farmers - village collecting traders - district collecting traders - wholesalers - exporters; (2) coffee farmers - retailers - consumers. The marketing functions are not fully carried out by marketing agencies. The market structure is oligopsony. The market conduct shows that price is dominated by middlemen, limited market information, and the absence of government policy on coffee prices. The market performance shows high marketing margins, an uneven margin distribution, low farmers’ share, and a low K/B ratio. It means that coffee marketing is inefficient. The government should make policies that encourage the coffee sector to become a large- scale business, such as making regulations, expanding access to capital, domestic and export market networks.
