Abstract

The existence of music as a representation of traditional culture increasingly doubted by various parties. Especially when he has to deal with international music that has a modern genre. In Indonesia, in line with today's global culture, traditional music is slowly being forgotten. Even considered the music peripheral by his own generation because it is not in line with the latest music trends. Is a community of Barak Karinding that plays traditional musical instruments Karinding typical Sundanese, they try to fight the flow. It is important to be studied with regard to the understanding of Karinding musical art, as well as the social values of humanity (local wisdom) that they stretcher in daily life amid the onslaught of global music products today. The type of this research is qualitative, by trying to describe the phenomenon naturally based on the social setting as it is. The results of this study describes among others: a) Karinding music has value, Belief, Patience, Conscious. As a universal message of their music. b) loving art is loving humanity. That is, musical works are not created for the interests of the market as the mindstream of music today, but to develop constructive human beings.

Abstract

Being declared in 2015 in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. development based Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has an aim to operate the development which is not only in progression but also in the orientation of maintenance of social area.Reaching the aim development based SDGs gives high response to universal development, emancipative, and participative that orientate to local wisdom value. This study focus on having an aim of analyzing on going Madura reinforcement through empowerment of local wisdom value. Several main issues become a focus of this analysis namely sustainable development concept, and the concept of local wisdom value. This study is descriptive study by library approach. The theory perspective of this study is development sociology theory. The finding of this study is about description concept and sustainable development theory; the explanation of local wisdom value in a system and social structure of Madura society; and descriptive analysis about sustainable development of Madura through empowerment of local wisdom value. Generally, this paper contributes of explaining the existence of local wisdom value in Madura development dynamic, and the explanation of social change of local society in sustainable development era.

Abstract

Suicide is an event in society that is often inevitable. Suicide is a deliberate end to life. Social symptoms in society greatly affect someone in committing suicide. Referring to Durkheim, there are at least four types of suicide, namely egoistic suicide, suicide altruism, anomie suicide, and fatalistic suicide. Egoistic suicide is a suicide that occurs because social integration is too weak. Suicide altruism is a suicide that occurs because social integration is too strong. Anomie suicide is a suicide that occurs because of the blurring of values and norms in society. Fatalistic suicide is a suicide that occurs because the values and norms that apply in society are too excessive. Suicidal acts that occur in the community can be mapped through the fact that social integration is getting stronger or weaker. In addition, suicide can also be mapped based on the fact that the values and norms are getting weaker or stronger.

Abstract

Malang Raya with all the trimmings is a city with intense activity. As a result, the streets in most areas in Malang became commonly used. The volume density of vehicles per day resulted in a lot of potholes. However, the slow handling of city government and county government resulted in the holes in the road more and more common. Of course this led to frustration for road users. Many victims of accidents caused fall due pit road. Not the least of casualties caused by potholes is pushing a bunch of young for forming Social Community “Peduli Lubang”. The group is moved voluntarily. Social counciosness encouraging to form this community. In its action, they make a circular mark or ledges with pylox white against the hole in every street. The goal is sign that the road users see the white markings they have made. The sign is effective because Driver can seen from distance before the hole, finally the driver can reduce speed. A lot of appreciation given to this community. Remaining so many hole in streets, and the number of "Self founding" that they have to spend for the sake of this social action. Their action also received a response from the mayor. This research uses a case study approach and indepth interview methods to community members and resource persons also road users to recognize the existence of this grass-roots communities. Observations made to this community by following all the activities of this group. As a result, the public perception of these two groups divided into two: the pros and cons of their action. Part of the counter on the excuse that their sentences are inappropriate for display in public facilities. In conclusion the public perception of the pro-grassroots movement may be resistance to the government policy terksan slow in dealing with this issue. Evidenced by the more intense they carry out an action, response Malang city and county governments more quickly. Expected social consciousness is what will encourage Malang city and county governments to be more sensitive to sound that good netizens on social media and direct aspiration.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Ponorogo Regency on the organization of the Ponorogo Muslimah Widow Association (IJMP). To obtain data, this study used interview techniques with purposive sampling technique. The results of this study show that there are 2 (two) models of actions that become the motives of IJMP members, namely: 1) rational actions, and 2) non-rational actions. Rational actions are divided into two, namely, instrumental rational actions, which describe conscious choice, and value-oriented actions, which describe efficiency and effectiveness. Non-rational actions are also divided into two, actions that are related to customs and beliefs, and actions that are dominated by personal feelings. The reason must be a strong woman: to survive and believe in religious teachings. HJMP members have consideration of rational and non-rational actions and in groups they try to maintain their chosen social actions.

Abstract

This study attempts to uncover the resistance of hawkers against the prohibition of selling at stations and trains by taking the locus of Merak-Rangkasbitunglocal train. Specifically the purpose of this study is to uncover the daily hidden resistance that is concealed by hawkers. This kind of resistance model refers to Scott's concept from his theory which is the domination of the art of resistance or noted by the weapon of the weak againts of the elite or the policies which opressed them. In this study, used the qualitative-phenomenology methods. This approach is chosen to reveal the phenomena based on the perspectives of those who experience them directly, with an in-depth expression of the phenomenon of consciousness within them during resistance. The results of this study include: a) disobedience (keepselling) against the law by pretending not to know. b) sellingpretend as passengers. c) negotiating "as if" with the officer, meaning they end up violating, and d) resisting the ban on selling by rebel. The daily, unorganized and invidual resistance to this is done because there is no alternative to the economic solution for them; they have no capital; social, educational, and political. They are weak people, and according to them are increasingly weakened by the policy of the ban.

Abstract

Mobile mini drama of the Line is a mini-series that narrate the characters who play a part in a story which has drama genre. One of them is a mobile mini drama Line "Nic and Mar" designed to meet the needs of the people of Indonesia will of entertainment that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere for free just by using the gadget. However, the facts behind their mobile mini dramas which incidentally can be enjoyed free, able to bring great benefits in terms of economy for the media Line. Researchers interested in studying this phenomenon because the researchers identified that there has been a process of commodification and wanted to know what kind of shape the commodification. The purpose of this research is to determine how to shape the content of the message commodification Mini Drama Line "Nic and Mar". The approach of the research is qualitative, uses a semiotic analysis to analyze the research object. The data analysis technique is based from “The Codes of Television” by John Fiske. The research result is in Mini Drama Line "Nic and Mar" there are audio aspect and visual aspect that formed by videography techniques so that it becomes a spectacle, but the signs are there in processed into a product so that the scene in this drama mini formed into commodities. The function changed, initially the storyline is used for forming part mini-drama story, now the storyline also serves as a exchange rate.

Abstract

Early marriage was underage marriage, one of the reasons for the occurrence of pre-marriage pregnancy in Indonesia. This research used descriptive qualitative method, with informants of early marriage, family of perpetrators, public figure and government agencies. Data collecting were using observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the factors causing the occurrence of early marriage due to: (i) the influence of promiscuity (dating); (ii). the influence of the development of information technology (internet and mass media); (iii). poor parental and community supervision; (iv). the availability of the affordable lodging facilities; (v) lack of adolescent religious understanding. Pre-marriage pregnancy is done through: (i). official marriage; (ii). the unacknowledged marriage of law or siri’; (iii). the process of eloping; and (iv). the contractual agreement between the parents.

Abstract

As the background of this research, there was an existence of a mismatch between idealism and reality. Social change that lead to a negative change of Westernization or a change that lead to cultural destruction, but in reality therewere  many cultures that had been preserved. In this case, the researchers studied the local culture that existed until now. For example, Mangrara Banua Tongkonan ceremony, the researchers saw that only the major of young generation in Tanah Toraja people knew specifically the meaning of Mangrara Banua Tongkonan Ceremony. The type of research was descriptive qualitative research that a method in research the status of community, an object, an event. The location of this research was conducted in Ariang Village, Makale Sub-district, Tana Toraja Regency, with data collection technique were observation and interview with respondents .The results obtained about the meaning of social Mangrara Banua Tongkonan ceremony in Tana Torajawas analyzed descriptively qualitative, it can be concluded that the cause of Mangrara Banua Tongkonan ceremony was still preserved until now because of the value, tradition and the active participation of the community. While the meaning in Mangrara BanuaTongkonan ceremony was connotative and denotative meanings.

Abstract

Merarik is a tradition which has been maintained by Sasak since a long time. In the beginning, this tradition was an effort to save women from immorality of Anak Agung Made Karangasem, the king of Lombok. But the aim of this tradition started to change. This paper tries to analyze the change of merarik in Nyurlembang Village, Narmada, West Lombok. Using qualitative descriptive and feminist approach, this paper found that merarik causes cultural violence for women. In the middle of the merarik problem, proposal becomes a better alternative for women, but proposal not fully received because it is not their own culture.
