Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the ability of mathematical communication and Self Efficacy by using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in junior high school students. The research method used is quasi-experimental using two classes, first class as experiment class and second class as control class. The experimental class uses the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach while the control class uses conventional learning. In both classes, pretest and initial questionnaire were conducted to determine the initial ability of each class, and at the end of the two classes postest. The results of this study were processed and analyzed using Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that communication skills and self-efficacy of students whose learning using Realistic Mathematics education are better than those using conventional learning.

Abstract

This study aims to know in depth about the relationship of self-confidence simultaneously to the ability of solving mathematical problems of high school students. The population in this research is one of the high schools in Cililin. The instrument in this research is a test of mathematical problem solving ability of five items, and self confidence questionnaire of students. Methods in this research use correlational research. The results of this research show that there is a relationship between self confidence on the problem solving ability of high school students is correlation value (r) on Pearson Corellation between self confidence with students mathematical problem solving ability is equal to 0,824. From these results indicate the level of relationships that are strong and indicate the direction of a positive relationship.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach which aims to describe and analyze students' difficulties in completing the mathematical communication capability in review of mathematical resilience. The sample of research is the students of class VIII G SMP Negeri 2 Cisarua as many as 28 people. The instruments used are communication skill test, questionnaire of mathematical resilience and interview guidance. The result of data analysis showed that communication ability of students who have high resilience was able to solve the problem of mathematical communication skill well, as well as resilient students were able to complete the test of mathematical communication ability well, but the low resilience students were less precise in completing the test the ability of mathematical communication.

Abstract

Abstract  This study aimed to analyze the correlation between Mathematical Communication skill and learning interest of Junior High School students by using The Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach. The method used in study is using the Quasi-experimental method, by picking up two different (2) classes occupied by Junior High Students in Bandung Residence, and there will be two (2) classestaken as the sample of this study. the first class (experimental)use the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) Approach, while the second class (Control) use the usual learning. The questionnaire answer then transformed by using the Method of Successive Interval (MSI), and the data will be tested by using the Product Moment Pearson and Spearmant Theory. The result of this study may point that there is a significant correlation between Mathematical Communication Skill and The Learner's Interest in Studying Mathematics. Keywords: Mathematical Communication, Learning Interests, Realistic Mathematic Education Approach.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan sebagian ilmu pengetahuan terapan maupun penalaran yang sering sekali digunakan dalam berbagai bidang, terutama bidang teknologi. Matematika juga suatu pelajaran penting dan harus dikuasai setiap siswa dari tingkat sekolah dasar hingga tingkat perguruan tinggi. Dalam tujuan pembelajaran matematika ada satu aspek yang harus ditingkatkan yaitu kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Kemampuan inilah yang harus dikuasai tiap siswa. Namun kenyataannya, tingkat kemampuan siswa masih tergolong rendah. Sistem persamaan linear dua variabel (SPLDV) merupakan salah satu materi yang cukup sulit dipahami siswa kelas VIII di MTs Negeri Sukasari Cimahi. Perlu diadakannya sebuah solusi dalam pembelajaran yaitu menggunakan pendekatan reciprocal teaching. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan dua siklus dengan masing-masing siklus terdapat dua pertemuan. Pada setiap akhir siklus, siswa diberikan tes tertulis berbentuk soal uraian. Hasil dari penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan menerapkan pendekatan reciprocal teaching. Terlihat dari hasil nilai rata-rata pada setiap siklusnya, hasil pra siklus dengan nilai 37, pada siklus I menjadi 69 (44,44%), dan pada siklus II menjadi 76 (63,89%).

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of communication skills and mathematical creative thinking of junior high school students through tests of straight-line equation questions, and analyze the difficulties of students in solving problems in the matter of straight-line equations. The population in the study were all eighth grade students of Pasundan 1 Junior High School 1 Cimahi with a sample of 9 students in class VIII I who were taken using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique that is by taking samples from each strata proportionally randomly with the provisions of each of the 3 high-ability students , 3 students with moderate ability and 3 low-ability students. The research data was collected through a test of mathematical communication skills based on the indicators of 4 essay questions. The results showed students' mathematical communication skills of 34.4% included in the less category, while for creative thinking ability was 41% including sufficient categories. Based on the answer analysis students have been able to identify elements that are known and asked and stated them in mathematical symbols, able to identify the links between elements / data that are known and asked, only students have not been able to complete mathematical models and determine relevant solutions. Based on the results of the average questionnaire shows that students' self-confidence in mathematics learning can be categorized as being. These results are directly proportional to the results of tests of low mathematical communication skills and creative thinking abilities that are categorized sufficient.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze theimprovement of problem solving ability from students at VIII grade on material of two variables linear equationssystem thtough open ended approach. This research uses Classroom Action Reserch. The method of the  research is descriptive. The research is conducted to VIII H grade student of  SMP Negeri 9 in academic year 2017/ 2018 which consist of 40 students. The instrument is the testof students’ mathematical problem solving ability, cycle test I and II after giving action. The result aspectof this research shows that the aspect of students’ mathematical problemsolving ability increased, it can be seen from the result of the test, many studentsachive above beverage score (KKM).Bsed on indicator, it concludes that students’ problem solving ability at VIII H grade of SMP Negeri 9on material of two variables linear equations system can be improved through open ended approach

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa SMK menggunakan pendekatan problem solving. Jenis penelitian ini berupa penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan di SMK Negeri 1 Cimahi pada kelas XII Teknik Pendingin dan Tata Udara A. Metode yang digunakan pada pengumpulan datanya adalah observasi, catatan lapangan, dokumentasi, tes. Pada hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pendekatan problem solving pada hasil belajar siswa dan nilai yang didapat siswa pada setiap siklusnya terus meningkat. Persentase hasil belajar siswa dengan nilai diatas 7 pada sebelum diberi tindakan adalah 13% dan setelah diberi tindakan persentasenya terus mmeningkat pada setiap siklusnya. Pada siklus pertama persentasenya adalah 56% Kemudian pada siklus kedua persentasenyaa adalah 81%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan problem solving memiliki pengaruh pada hasil belajar siswa dimana pengaruh tersebut dapat dilihat dari nilai siswa pada hasil belaajarnya terus meningkat pada setiap siklusnya.

Abstract

high order thinking skill is an important skill that student must have, especially in mathematics education. In the process of solving problems, students are required to be able to think fundamental and creative. The purpose of this research is to analyze the comparison of high order thinking ability of students in SMPN Cimahi based on school classification. The research method used is experimental with the design of two class and post-test only. the sample taken in this research is the students of class VII SMPN in Cimahi with high classification and moderate classification. The result of this research is there's still a very significant difference in high order thinking the skill of junior high school student in Cimahi city. SMPN with high classification has good high order thinking skills than SMPN with moderate classification. This is due to the following factors, (a) the students have different bits of intelligence; (b) the way students face difficulties (problems) that varies depending on how the students' everyday learning process; (c) the classification of schools have an effect on student’s high order thinking skill.

Abstract

This investigate is motivated by the low ability to comprehend the mathematical concepts of SMP students in KBB, so a learning approach is needed to decipher these problems. Alternative approaches are applied, namely the contextual approach. The method make use of in this investigate is an experimental method with a control group design pretest posttest. The population in this research were all junior high schools in KBB while the school sample was Kahuripan Lembang Middle School which was chosen based on school randomization. Sample class were taken randomly from the 4 classes of class 7 of Kahuripan Lembang Middle School, class 7-2 as the tentative class and class 7-4 as the control class. The tentative class uses contextual learning while the ordinary learning control class. The reason for taking class VII is because with deliberation in the semester one there are topics in the Triangle and Quadrangle that will be used in the study. The instrument in this investigation was a package of five test questions. The researcher can conclude that the achievement and repair of the capability of understanding The mathematical concept of SMP students who use a contextual approach is better than those using ordinary learning.
