Abstract

This study aims to develop the components of a pedagogical training model to improve the professionalism of prospective vocational teachers. This study is planned to be undertaken in three years.In the first year it was generated the components and their pedagogical training model tests in the internal scale of Jakarta State University. This study uses a quantitative method that lasted for three years. The determined outcomes of the study in the first year, the second year and the third year are the identification of the components, the model of training pedagogy and the effectiveness evaluation of the model by integrating the prerequisit pedagogical subjects. It will give impacts to the students who has completed the pedagocical course. They will have pedagogic competence to improve their pedagogical professionalism. This study uses the design of research and development by adopting the model of vocational training (skill training for the job). The subjects of the study were the students of the Faculty of Engineering, Jakarta State University. The arranged procedure of the study in the first year consists of: (1) the study of literature, (2) the data collection and the triangulation of data, (3) the description and the analysis of the data. The achieved target in the first year was the identification of the components of pedagogical training model.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan komponen model pelatihan pedagogi untuk meningkatkan profesionalitas calon guru kejuruan. Studi ini direncanakan akan memerlukan waktu tiga tahun. Pada tahun pertama dihasilkan komponen model pelatihan pedagogik beserta ujicoba pada skala internal UNJ. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif yang berdurasi selama tiga tahun. Luaran penelitian pada tahun pertama adalah identifikasi komponen model pelatihan pedagogik, tahun kedua menghasilkan model pelatihan pedagogi dan tahun ketiga menguji efektivitas model dengan mengintegrasikan mata kuliah kependidikan yang bersifat prerequisit sehingga setiap mahasiswa yang telah menyelesaikan matakuliah kependidikan akan memiliki kompetensi pedagogik yang dapat meningkatkan profesionalitas keguruannya.Penelitian ini menggunakan desain research and development dengan mengadopsi model latihan keterampilan kerja (skill training for the job). Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Tahun pertama menempuh alur sebagai berikut: (1) studi literatur, (2) pengumpulan data lapangan dan triangulasi data, (3) deskripsi dan analisis temuan terhadap komponen model pembelajaran yang terdapat pada pendidikan kejuruan. Target yang dicapai pada tahun pertama yaitu identifikasi komponen model pelatihan pedagogik.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purposes of this research are to investigate: 1) the entrepreneurial preparedness among the  students of Barabai Vocational High School, and 2) the effect of students’ entrepreneurial knowledge, industrial practicum experience, and achievement motivation toward their entrepreneurial preparedness for both individually and mutually. The descriptive analysis results showed that the entrepreneurial preparedness of twelfth grade students of Barabai Vocational High School was high (57.7%). The hypothesis testing results showed that there was a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial knowledge, industrial practicum experience, achievement motivation toward students’ preparedness (F= 95.418, p= 0.000). The determination coefficient of R2 = 0.599 indicated that entrepreneurial knowledge, industrial practicum experience and achievement motivation were able to explain the variable of students’ preparedness (59.9%). Each independent variable showed a positive and significant effect on the dependent variable, i.e. entrepreneurial knowledge (t = 5.095, p = 0.000), industrial practicum experience (t = 6.123 p = 0.000), and achievement motivation (5.738 = p = 0.000).Keywords: entrepreneurial knowledge, industrial practicum experience, achievement motivation, and entrepreneurial preparedness

Abstract

Kendala dalam pengajaran mata kuliah Gambar Teknik adalah seringnya mahasiswa harus mengulang tugas untuk memenuhi standar kompetensi kemampuan menggambar teknik. Penelitian tindakan ini bertujuan untuk mencari metode pembelajaran yang efektif untuk mata kuliah ini. Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang menarik untuk diuji terapkan adalah pembelajaraa cooperative learning.  Dalam metode pembelajaran ini mahasiswa dikondisikan dan didorong untuk belajar bersama dalam kelompok kecil. Di dalam kelompok tersebut diharapkan mahasiswa yang lebih pandai dapat membantu mahasiswa lain dengan menjelaskan cara dan hasil akhir tiap tugas. Salah satu turunan dari model pembelajran cooperative learning adalah RAC (Reward Active Cooperative). Desain penelitian ini adalah classroom research. Subyek penelitian adalah salah satu kelas dari kelas Gambar Teknik Prodi D3 Non Reguler. Waktu penelitian selama empat bulan. Metode pengumpulan data metode survei, yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Pembelajaran kelompok model RAC ternyata: (a) Pembelajaran reward kerjasama berupa skor tambahan atas tugas pada pembelajaran cooperative model model RAC ini sangat baik untuk meningkatkan kerjasama dan skor rerata kelompok, (b) Pemberian perhatian terhadap kebenaran pemahaman dan tugas ketua kelompok adalah sangat penting (c) Proses pembentukan kelompok, terutama komposisi anggota kelompok harus dipertimbangkan dengan baik karena akan berpengaruh terhadap keseluruhan proses pembelajaran hingga akhir semester.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe role of LPTK of High School Vocational Teacher of agribusiness field should be restructured theeducational system and the curriculum offerings in agribusiness field. The reforms are also needed in assessmentof needs analysis and broader cooperation. The LPTK should be able to redesign the curriculum of high schoolvocational teacher’s candidate of agribusiness field related to the needs and development of agribusiness fieldand should be as the facilitator and mediator on the variety of agribusiness activity for the candidate and alsoHigh School Vocational Teacher of agribusiness field. Some of the approach that should be reviewed by LPTKshould refer to the analysis result of the Ministry of Agriculture is aimed to the development of curriculum design,implementation model and the evaluation. Besides that the role of LPTK need to access the agribusiness curriculummaterials as outlined in the course of Agribusiness. The High School Vocational Teacher in Agribusiness fields areplay the strategic roles, the especially in shaping the entrepreneurial spirit in agribusiness fields and develop acomprehensive network of agribusiness and develop the potential of learners. Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyse: (1) the plan (2) the implementation, and (3) the evaluation of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management in the workshop of the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (YSU). This study was categorised into descriptive study that scientifically explained the workplace environment of the workshop specifically in terms of the OSH management. The data collection techniques used observations, interviews and questionnaires. The data of this study was analysed descriptively. This study presented the detailed descriptions of the collected data in the field. The results revealed (1) It is crucial to develop a more systematic OSH management plan in the workshop of the Department of Civil Engineering and Planning Education, Faculty of Engineering, YSU (2) the planning policies and the implementation of the OSH management need a continual improvement  and (3) the evaluation of the OSH management should be conducted simultaneously by the stakeholders, the lecturers and the technicians. (4) The OSH policy in the practices should be properly organised to promote the OSH culture in the workshop. (5) The OSH management control and review were prioritised for fostering the effectiveness of the OSH management implementation.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan  evaluasi Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3) di Bengkel Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan FT UNY. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif (descriptive reasearch) yang memaparkan secara ilmiah keadaan di lingkungan bengkel khususnya mengenai aspek K3. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan secara detail terhadap apa yang ditemukan dalam pengambilan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perencanaan K3 di bengkel masih perlu diperbaiki agar lebih matang dan sistematis. (2) Pelaksanaan K3 di bengkel masih perlu ditingkatkan terkait dengan kebijakan perencanaan dan pelaksanaan. (3) Evaluasi K3 di bengkel perlu dilakukan secara simultan oleh pihak penentu kebijakan, dosen, dan teknisi. (4) Budaya K3 di bengkel masih perlu ditingkatkan dengan penetapan kebijakan mengenai K3 dalam proses pembelajaran praktik. (5) Faktor peninjauan dan peningkatan kinerja K3 perlu dilakukan untuk menjamin kesesuaian dan efektivitas penerapan sesuai Sistem Manajemen K3.

Abstract

    This study explored the effect of problem-based learning and motivation toward learning outcomes of the subject of computer routing network. Computer routing network is part of the subject of computer network design in a computer network engineering class. The purpose of this study was to examine the difference in learning outcomes between students treated with the problems based learning model and treated with direct learning model by considering students’ learning motivation. This study was categorized as quasi-experimental designed with a factorial experimental design. The sampling technique used purpose-sampling. The data were analyzed using a two-way Anava method. The results of the study showed that (1) the learning outcomes of students in the subject of routing network with problem-based learning model was better than the student treated with direct instruction learning, (2) based on the learning outcomes in the subject of routing network, a group of students with high motivation was better, and (3) there is an interaction between the application of problem-based-learning model and motivation to the students learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of transactional rewards to the students ’achievement. This study is very important because it explains that hard work and responsibility is stronger than rewards in supporting children to gain achievement. The approach of the study was quantitative method with explanatory research, because variables that were studied would explain the object of the study through the collected data. The subject of the study was the students of XI TKJ o f SMK N 1 Saptosari. The sample consisting 32 students were examined by questionnaires as the data collection technique. The result of the study showed that transactional rewards has 15, 63% effect to the students ‘achievement in SMK N 1 Saptosari.

Abstract

This study is to remind teachers that professional development and quality assurance are required to perform a good working in improving either learning process or school quality. Nowadays, teaching has been officially recognized as a profession. Consequently, teachers must be enforced professionally in their charges. To be professional in carrying their tasks, teachers must continuously improve competency themselves and perform quality assurance in their duties. This study is a literature review related to the importance of professional development and quality assurance in order to increase teachers’ effectiveness in providing learning services in Secondary Vocational Schools. Professional development is the need required by any teachers. Teachers’ professional development in Vocational Secondary School is expected to create changes in attitudes, improve the learning process and promote the students’ learning output and outcomes. In addition, teachers are not only responsible for improving the quality of learning outputs but also for working collaboratively with other teachers to elevate the quality of learning outcomes. It suggests the quality assurance as the key to achieve and to ensure the quality of teaching learning process and also the school’s effectiveness demanded by the stakeholders.

Abstract

Educators serving in Vocational High Schools have not met the competency standards. This study aimed to describe: (1) pedagogy, professional, personality, and social competence of teachers in vocational high schools, and (2) the performance of teachers in vocational high schools. This descriptive study was conducted at four vocational high schools in North Morowali that have been nationally accredited. The respondents consisted of 23 principals, vice principals, heads of the study program, and 178 student. The data were collected using documentation and questionnaire.  It were further analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that:  (1) 66.76% of the teachers have the competence of the teacher's pedagogy with high category, 77.92% of the teachers have the professional competence with high category; 78.66% of the teachers have the personality competence with high category; 79.82% of the teachers have social competence with high category, (2) 75.35% of the teachers have the performance with high category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan praktik pemesinan di jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Mesin UNY. Evaluasi yang dilaksanakan meliputi pelaksanaan kurikulum dilihat dari (1) struktur program yang ada, (2) hambatan yang dialami Dosen dalam proses pembelajaran  praktik pemesinan, (3) hambatan yang dialami mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran  praktik pemesinan, (4) relevansi kondisi peralatan praktik pemesinan yang ada dengan tuntutan kurikulum, serta (5) prestasi mahasiswa setelah mengikuti perkuliahan praktik pemesinan. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif dengan data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di bengkel Mesin Jurusan Pendidikan Teknik Mesin FT UNY pada bulan Juli sampai November 2007. Subjek penelitian seluruh mahasiswa D3 Teknik Mesin semester 2 dan 3. Pengumpulan data dengan angket, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) pelaksanaan struktur program kurikulum termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, (2) dosen mengalami beberapa hambatan, terutama kurangnya motivasi mahasswa dalam melaksanakan praktik dan rendahnya kinerja mesin yang ada, (3) hambatan yang dialami mahasiswa selama praktik terutama karena masalah ketersediaan bahan praktik dan rendahnya kinerja mesin yang ada, (4) kelengkapan sarana praktikyang ada dalam kategori cukup, (5) prestasi mahasiswa setelah mengikuti praktik pemesinan dalam kategori cukup baik.
