Abstract

Purpose this research is determine the effectiveness of using GQGA methods to students’ mathematics connection ability on vocational school. Methods in this research use quantitative methods. The sample selection by purposive sampling and the result is X class major in TKR. Result of this research is GQGA effective to students’ mathematics connection ability. This can be seen from the result of the students’ mathematics connection ability exceed KKM. Then using SPSS, significant of one sample t test smaller than alpha (0,05), and the result of the comparison of t observations with t table show that t observations greather than t table. Therefore, the GQGA method can be used in learning in Vocational Schools.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts through the use of Ms Math 4.0 software in the learning process. This research was conducted using a quasi-experimental method with a quantitative approach. There are two sample groups in this study: the experimental group which was carried out using Ms Math 4.0 and the control group with conventional learning. The method used is quasi-experimental using the Mann Whitney U test for data analysis. From the analysis results obtained: 1) Understanding the concept of students who learn by using Ms Math 4.0 software is higher than those who do not use software; 2) Understanding the concept of students with high, medium and low initial ability who learn by using Ms Math 4.0 software is higher than students who study with conventional learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to integrate local wisdom in the Indonesia-Timor Leste border area which was realized through the development of Ethnomatematics Student worksheet (LKM) based on the community's cultural in the border area. The method used in this research is development research with formative type which is consisting of preliminary analysis and formative evaluation. Data collection techniques include documentation; walk through, tests, observations, and interviews. While the data analysis technique used is the data analysis of qualitative descriptive. Results of the research that the student worksheets of ethnomatematics using the context of woven fabric motif of Kefamenanu community who have been developed meet criteria valid, practical and effective to improve the learning achievement of ethnomatematics.

Abstract

The low ability of creative thinking and student learning outcomes becomes the discussion of this study. To overcome this problem, in this study applied the Contextual Learning Model. the purpose of this research is useful to answer whether there is an increase in creative thinking skills between contextual learning models and conventional learning models then to find out whether there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes in a positive direction through this contextual learning model. The type of research used in this research is experimental research where the population of this study is all students of Class X Padangsidimpuan 6 High School. Data analysis using the t-test statistical test. Based on the results of the calculation of the hypothesis test the value of t count > t table or 2.007 > 1.667 (with α 0.05), so Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that there is a significant increase in creative thinking skills in the experimental class compared to in the control class.

Abstract

This research was aimed to know the effect of implementing Think Pair Share cooperative learning model with the formative assessment on junior high schools student in geometry material. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest1, 2, and 3. This research compares Think Pair Share using formative assessment and the conventional learning. ANOVA test was be used to analyse the effectiveness this learning. The result of ANOVA test showed that Think Pair Share with formative assessment gives different effects with conventional learning. Think Pair Share with formative assessment had encouraged students and teachers to be innovative and creative in the mathematics learning to improve the student achievement. In the future, this learning is be applied by teachers around the world.

Abstract

This research aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes of students of grade VII1 SMP Negeri 15 Kendari on set material through the application of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in class VII1 students of SMP Negeri 15 Kendari with 24 students. The results of this study indicate that the completeness of student learning outcomes in the first cycle reached 70.83%, in the second cycle reached 79.16%, and in the third cycle reached 83.3%. In terms of process, the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model has been implemented in accordance with the learning scenario in class VII1 of SMP Negeri 15 Kendari with an average of 75% in cycle I, 85% in cycle II and 95% in cycle III. Based on the performance indicators, it was concluded that student learning outcomes in the material set of students in class VII1 of SMP Negeri 15 Kendari could be improved through the cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD).

Abstract

The study aimed to improve students’ mathematical representation and self-concept skills through Accelerated Learning Cycles (ALC). This study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in 3 cycles. The stages in each cycle were planning, implementation, observation, evaluation, and reflection. The research subjects were students of grade VII B of MTs Negeri 3 Banyumas in 2018/2019 academic year. The instrument used was a descriptive test to measure students’ mathematical representation skills provided at the end of each cycle and to determine students’ self-concepts through a questionnaire. Based on the findings, mathematical representation skills obtained an average value of 56,81 in the first cycle, 75,38 in the second cycle, and 80,86 in the third cycle. The results of the average value of students’ self-concept questionnaire for cycle I was equal to 64,85, 67,66 in the second cycle, and 70,65 in the third cycle. It can be drawn that the Accelerated Learning Cycle (ALC) could improve students’ mathematical representation skills and self-concept.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe : 1) the ability to understand mathematical concepts taught with GeoGebra assisted LSQ learning models whose values above 60 exceeded 55% and the average exceeded the targeted KKM of 60. 3) the effect of activeness of students taught by GeoGebra assisted LSQ learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts. 4) the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students taught with the GeoGebra assisted LSQ learning model is better than the STAD learning model. The population in this study were class VIII School 1 Talang Tegal District 2018/2019 Academic Year. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The samples taken were 3 classes namely 1 experimental class, 1 control class and 1 trial class. The method of data collection in this study uses documentation techniques, observation and tests. Data analysis using proportion test and t test one sample, PKPD test, simple linear regression test, and t test one right side. The results of the study stated that : 1) the ability to understand mathematical concepts taught by the GeoGebra assisted LSQ learning model whose scores exceeded the KKM exceeded 55% and the average reached the targeted KKM of 60. 3) there is the influence of GeoGebra's assisted LSQ learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of 66.12%. 4) the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students taught with the GeoGebra assisted LSQ learning model is better than using the STAD learning model

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of verbal, visual, and symbolic mathematical representations in solving trigonometric problems. The subjects of this study were students of class XII IPA 1 Ngawi High School. This study uses a qualitative method. The data validation used in this study uses the time triangulation method. Analysis of the data used uses the stages of Huberman and Miles. The results of this study indicate that participants answered not only based on the numbers given, but also used the definition of trigonometric ratios on verbal representation. On the other hand, the subject is able to determine the position of the object to be observed. However, the subject failed to determine the direction of the depression angle in the sketch made on the visual representation. Failure to determine the direction of the angle of depression causes errors in using mathematical equations correctly. Finally, participants did not succeed in using mathematical equations correctly in symbolic representations. Based on some of the explanations above, we can recommend the importance of translation between mathematical representations and mathematical problems, as well as translations between mathematical representations (verbal, visual, and symbolic) in learning mathematics in class

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is the influence of the use of props the opportunity to turn on the material opportunities for learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 8 Pagaralam..?. the porpuse of this research is to find the influence of the matter opportunities in matter opportunities of the result of student learning. The method research used is the experimentel method with Pretes-postest control group desain. sampel in class experiment VIII.C class of the students the 30 and 70,56 while the sampel in class VIII.E control of the cclassroom and the number of students 30 and include 64,83. The teachnique of the collection of the data used as documentation and tests. T test data using analysis technique to that class of his experiments wit value s namely 12,06 while to that class of control with new value s namely 12,31 in a cantcount 1,88 > ttable 1,69, then  H0 rejected dan Ha the study received reseived that hypothesis. So in conclusion any impact the use of props opportunities round on the subject matter of the results off student learning.
