Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect different smoking and storaging time to protein content, fat content andorganoleptic value smoked salted eggs. This study used duck eggs as many as 240 eggs, powdered brick 3600 grams, 2400grams of ash, 1200 grams salt and 60 kg of coconut husk. The method used in this study was the experimental method usinga randomized block design with a 4x3 factorial with two groups as replicates. As the first factor (A) was different smoking A1= 8 hours, A2 = 10 hour, A3 = 12 hours and A4 = 14 hours, whereas the second factor (B) was storaging time : B1 = 23days, B2 = 30 days and B3 = 37 days. Variables measured were protein content, fat content, and organoleptic values (colour,flavor, aroma, texture) of smoked salted eggs. The results of this study different smoking and storaging time was nointeraction to all variables smoked salted eggs. It did not affect the flavor and aroma, but the longer smoking decreasedprotein content and colors but increased fat content. The longer it was stored the smoke salted eggs, increased fat content anddecreased texture. Based on the results of this study concluded that 8 hour smoking was the best treatment in themanufacture of smoked salted eggs with protein content 48,99%, fat content 45,82%, color 3,35 (ordinary), flavor 3,49 (like),aroma 2,73 (ordinary) dan texture 3,16 (ordinary)

Abstract

The research was conducted to know the rumen cegradation of high level crude fiber feedstuffs which were urea ammoniated. Two fistuled bulls, weight 200 kgs and 5.5 years old were used. The treatments were urea amonizations of straw, baggase and wood pClWder followed by 0,6,12,24,48 and 72 hours of incubation. The experiment was analyzed with Randomized Complete Design by 3 x 2 x 6 factorial mode and 2 replication.The result showed that urea ammonizations increased dry matter degradation of straw, b.:gasse and wood pClWder, crude fiber degradation of wood powder and crude protein degradaion of straw and wood powder

Abstract

Meat preservation generally carries put by refrigeration, heating and adding chemical preservation materials. Purpose of the· preservation is to keep meat quality, because meat is one of high nutrient food materials. The content of nutrient in meat is good media for the growth of bacteria, and then they can decrease meat quality. Hence; it needs some treatments, one of them is a natural preservation such as extract of Centella asiatica L. that content salt minerals and bacterial compound, and it can block and remove bacteria.The purpose of this research is to determine influence extract of Centella asiatica 1. with different concentrations to water content, pH, and total bacterial colony, and sensorial value (color, texture, and aroma) of beef. This research uses a Complete Random Design that consists of four treatments with three repeat. The treatments are adding extract of Centella asiatica L. for 0 ml, 10 ml, 20 ml, 30 m1. Submersion of beef within the extract of Centella asiatica L. takes about 30 minutes. Resulted variables data statically processed by using various analysis. If the differences happen among the treatments, then must be perform following test by using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Theresult of this research show that the beef submersions with adding 30 ml of extract of Centella asiatica L. is most effective in decreasing water content of beef to 61.32%, pH to 5.17, total bacterial colony to 5:1 x 105 CFU / gram and color change to undesirable brownish red. But it's not influential to texture and aroma. Beef have in a row pattern, approximately soft and nice look, fresh blood aroma.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi mineral sulfur pada serbuk sabut kelapa fermentasi dalam meningkatkan kecernaan dan fermentabilitas serbuk sabut kelapa. Serbuk sabut kelapa terlebih dahulu difermentasi dengan menggunakan mikroba selulolitik rumen se1ama 24 jam dengan dosis inokulum mikroba 1()9 cfu/ml Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok(RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 kelompok sebagai ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah level pemberian sulfur yaitu . 0, 0.1, 0.2 dan 0.3% dari bahan kering. Hasn penelitian memperJihatkan bahwa penambahart mineral sulfur mampu meningkatkan kecernaan dan ferm.entabilitas serbuk sabut kelapa ferm.entasi. Level sulfur terbaik adalah 0.2%dati bahan kering.

Abstract

This research was done at PT. Ramah Tamah Indah in Pekanbaru City, this research aim to know companies system and concept of partnership, implementation conception of partnership, .and knowing comparison mount the breeder earnings. This research was done during eight month, from March to November 2009. Teclmique of intake sampel is method of purposive sampling where breeder taken as responder is breeder with the scale criterion of effort ~ 10.000 tail of chicken broiler. From entire/all breeder population taken 5 breeder which have partner with the division system of result of pursuant to Index Produce (IP) and 5 breeder which have partner with the system of sharing holder 50:50. The result show the partnership concept that could be realized are conservancy fee range, medium produce the livestock provided by a company, gift insentive, technical aid from the company, marketing guarantee, and election of system of result division agreed on by both parties. Average of net earning of effort livestock of chicken of broiler system of index production (IP) is Rp 5.891.662,-and for the system of sharing holder 50:50 is Rp 11.466.241,-. And seen from result the T test obtained conclusion that at this period, earnings of breeder of system of sharing holder 50:50 bigger than system breeder of index production (IP)

Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine the effect of immersing culled layer chicken meat into the pineapple skinextract with different concentrations on the water holding capacity (WHC), water content (WC), pH, tenderness, odor andcolor. The experimental design was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four replications. Treatments wereconcentrations of pineapple skin extract which consisted of four levels that is 0%, 15%, 27,5% and 40%, respectively.Results showed that immersion of culled layer chicken meat into the pineapple skin extract had significant effect (P<0,01) onWHC, pH, tenderness. The concentration of 27,5% of pineapple skin extract could increase tenderness, decreased WHC andpH.

Abstract

Three experiments were conducted to evalu."'Ite the enzyme activity from rumen liquor in some feedstuffs and its effect on performance of broiler chickens fed cassava based-diet. Those were: enzyme activity test and degradation level; total solubility; and feeding trial. Ninety day old chicks Ross broiler were fed three experimental' diets i.e.: ration containing gaplek as control (R1); ration containing rumen liquor treated gaplek (R2) and R1 + 1 % Starbidf9 (R3) for 4 weeks on feeding trial.Results showed that enzyme activity of rumen liquor was 243 IU/g. Enzyme from rumen liquor was capable of degrading onggok (89.90%); diet containi..'''lg gaplek (87.05%); gaplek (85.89%); coconut meal (83.97%); rice straw (7L.79%J; and rice bran (33.75%). Total solubility of these feedstuffs also increased after the enzyme treatment. The total solubility of the feedstuffs were: rice bran (33.75%); onggok (29.24%); diet containing gaplek (23.80%); gaplek (14.02%); coconut oil meal (1289%); and rice straw (11.57%) respectively. It was concluded that the enzyme from rumen Ii~uor can improve feed quality of gaplek, but the improvement can not enhance feed conversion ratio and performance index oJ broiler chickens fed gaplek based-diet.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to determinetli~effects of progesterone intravaginal implant and its . combination with estradiol benzoate on response of estrus ~d~;conception rate.Results of the experiment. indicated that both treatnien~of progesterone alone and progesterone plus estradiolbenzoate induced estrus in all treated ewes. The onset of ~~was earlier in the group treated with 0.1 fig estradiolbenzoate than in the group treated with progesterone alone'(S2.31 and 42.31 hours respectively, after progesteroneimplant removal). The duration of estrus was longer in ~gr~ptreated with 0.1 mg estradiol benzoate (70.92 hours)than in the group treated with progesterone alone (37.42 hoUrs). The conception rate after insemination in the grouptreated with progesterone alone was not different with the gr#p treated with progesterone and estradiol benzoate:It is concluded that administration of estradiol benzoatE after progesterone implant removal improves estrousresponse, but can not improve the conception rate compared With progesterone treatment alone.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to know potencial of solid waste in Bagan Sinembah, Rokan Hilir distric, Riau. Research carried out at December 2007 in Bagan Sinembah, by using three factories of Elaeis guineensis (PKS). The three factories were used from data collection were PT. Sinar Perdana Caraka (SPC), PT. Dharma Wungu Guna (DWG), and Pr. Geliga Bagan Riau (GBR). The results of study indicate that solid waste in Bagan Sinembah, Rokan Hilir district, Riau Province had a great potencial. Productions of solid waste in Bagan Sinembah was around 25.360,20 tons/year and carrying capacity 3.474 Animals Unit. Farmers will use solid waste at large quantity if they raised livestock in commercially, for instance for fattening purpose. The strategies which can be applied to maximize solid waste utilization is through partnership between farmers and factories or local goverriment

Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate influence of cassava subtitution with calocasia to· quality and self life chicken meat bowl. The experiment design was arranged by campletely randamized block design with 5 treathment and 4 replication. CasstWa and calocasia subtitution level were used as a treatmen. i.e. A(lOO% : 0%),B(75% : 25%), C(50% : 50%), D(25% : 75%), E(O% : 100%). The parameters were evaluated as water value, pH, Total colony count and selflife. The result showed subtitution of cassava with calocasia powder could increase selflife ofchicken meat bowl. The best cambination casstWa and calocasia (0%:100%) was recamanded to produce good quality gelatin ofchicken meat bowl.
