Abstract

Kelompok tani mitra dalam pelaksanaan program kemitraan masyarakat ini adalah kelompok tani “Tunas Harapan” yang berlokasi di Desa Sejahatera Kecamatan Palolo Kabupaten Sigi beranggotakan 15 orang petani dan termasuk kelompok tani produktif dan aktif melaksanakan aktvitis usaha tani kakao. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok tani tersebut dalam usaha tani kakao adalah: (1). tanaman kakao kurang produktif karena sudah berusia tua (2) serangan hama penggerek dan pengisap buah kakao 3). serangan penyakit busuk buah dan pembuluh kayu atau Vascular Streak Dieback (VSD) (4). Kurang perawatan tanaman kakao oleh petani. Hasil rembuk dengan anggota kelompok tani mitra disepakati untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dianggap prioritas untuk segera diatasi dalam pelaksanaan program kemitraan masyarakat ini yakni upaya peningkatan produktivitas tanaman kakao dan pengendalian hama dan penyakit dengan teknologi tepat guna berbasis kearifan lokal serta perbaikan manajamen kelompok tani. Program kemitraan masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan anggota kelompok tani mitra dalam perakitan teknologi tepat guna dalam perbaikan budidaya tanaman kakao, teknologi tepat guna dalam pengendalian hama kakao, teknologi tepat guna pengendalian penyakit kakao, serta teknologi tepat guna pengembangan pupuk organik. Metode yang akan diterapkan adalah : pelatihan, demonstrasi teknologi, demplot, pendampingan dan pembinaan yang dilakukan secara partisipatif. Pada pelaksanaan pelatihan dan demplot akan diberikan materi tentang teknologi tepat guna side grafting, pengendalian hama PBK menggunakan predator Dolichoderus thoracicus, teknologi tepat guna pengendalian penyakit penyakit busuk buah kakao dengan biofungisida, dan teknologi tepat guna pembutan pupuk organik berbahan baku limbah kulit buah kakao. Hasil akhir yang diharapakan dari program ini adalah terjadinya kesinambungan produksi kakao masyarakat agar penghasilan yang diterima tetap dapat dipertahankan dengan tersedianya paket teknologi tepat guna yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan serta berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

The fermentation of cocoa beans is an important part of cocoa processing. Fermentation of cocoa beans increases the quality and price of the beans and the resultant cocoa. Although the fermentation of cocoa beans can increase the quality and income of cocoa farming, few farmers in Indonesia implement this fermentation process. This research therefore, focuses on the way Indonesian farmers assess whether or not to ferment their cocoa beans. A total of 284 cocoa farmers were sampled in Central Sulawesi Indonesia. The results showed that out of the more than 50% of farmers who did not ferment their cocoa beans, a majority were simply not interested in increasing the quality of the resultant cocoa. The quality of cocoa beans produced from smallholder plantations, therefore, was continually poor. The decision of cocoa farmers to ferment their cocoa beans, meanwhile, was significantly affected by the gender, age and education level of the head of the household, the number of productive family members, the quantity of cocoa bean production, and the resultant price of the fermented cocoa beans in the market. The resultant price of the fermented cocoa was the most dominant factor.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of price attributes, physical perfection, and freshness of organic vegetables on organic vegetable purchase in Palu. The number of samples in this research was 60 people determined by quota sampling technique. Path analysis was used to analyze data. Price, physical performance, and freshness are factors affecting consumers’ preferences to purchase the organic vegetable in Palu.  These three variables have significant effect on the organic vegetable purchase in Palu.  The price, physical perfection and freshness of the vegetables simultaneously had significant effect on purchasing variable with R² equal to 0.763.

Abstract

This research aim was to determine the influence of various factors on clove production in Tolitoli regency. This research was conducted from September to November 2018. Data were collected from 86 clove farmers who were selected using a simple random method. The data was processed and analyzed using production function of Cobb-Douglass. The results showed that simultaneously, the independent variables (X) significantly influenced the dependent variables (Y) and the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.89. Partially, four factors significantly influence the cloves production including land area (X1), ZA fertilizer (X3), Phonska (X4), and the labors (X5) whereas the age of the clove is the only factor that did not significantly affect. Keywords: Cloves, Cobb-Douglass and Production Factors.
