Abstract

This research aimed to describe implementation of scientific approach to improve students? learning outcomes on material of application of linear equation and inequality at Class X of SMA Negeri 1 Tinombo. The research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) that followed Kemmis and Mctaggart model. The model consists of three steps, i.e: planning, action and observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were thirty five  students. Data collection used teacher?s and students? observation sheets and a evaluation test. Data analysis results showed that there is an improvement of students? and teacher?s activities quality from Cycle I to Cycle II that influenced on improvement of learning achievement. The improvement can be seen from averaged value of individual and classical learning mastery. It can be concluded that the implementation of scientfic approach in the learning can improve the students? activities and students? outcome at Class X of  SMAN 1 Tinombo.
