Abstract

Mathematical sciences that study basic mathematical operations that is addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are arithmetic. Arithmetic lessons have been introduced since entering formal education. It can deliver with various ways, one of them is using a line of numbers or represent with objects, such as marbles, books, and pencils. As the development of science and technology, the delivery process can be done by using mobile devices. For example smartphones, tablets and laptops. Utilization can be done by making games or more commonly known as ICT-based learning media. With the game related to math, users can not only play games, but also can sharpen the ability to solve problems related to math. Gametika made with Adobe Flash Professional CS6 software and Adobe Air 3.2 application runtime with waterfall design model consisting of: (1) system requirement analysis; (2) design system; (3) implementation; (4) trials; (5) deployment; and (6) treatment. This game can run on a smartphone with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system or a newer android version and smartphone screen resolution of at least 320 x 480 pixels. Gametika can also be played on a PC or laptop. The validation results are declared valid and suitable for use especially for children aged 10-13 years.

Abstract

Electric cable is a medium to conduct electrical energy. Expansion and contraction caused by thermal changes may result in an aging effect on the cable. This paper presents the way to observe the expansion in electrical cable due to thermal changes using the x-ray microradiography. The observed electric cables were NYA, NYAF, and NYM, each with cross-sectional areas of 1.5 mm 2 and 2.5 mm 2 . The temperature was monitored using a DS18B20 sensor compiled into a microcontroller. In order to process and analyze the cables images, an ImageJ software was used. The image differences were compared based on the value of the digital image correlation. The physical analysis was carried out based on Adrian's FWHM and calculated using the regression method. The accurate structural dimension measurement using x-ray digital microradiography is about 50 μm/pixel. The average relative error measured was less than 3%.

Abstract

Deaf students discuss activities with other students, Deaf students need tools in participating in discussion activities, whereas so far, Deaf students have only relied on the ability to read the lips of their interlocutors. This research produces an assistive or assistive technology, namely the Android-based MVTe (Mobile Voice To Text) application where this application simply changes the voice in written form. This application was developed using the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method. The RAD method speeds up the work process due to its compact working process. The application trial was carried out on an IT expert, 5 deaf students, and 5 lecturers in the Information Technology Faculty, Universitas Merdeka Malang. The average test result is 81.3% with a feasible category for use.

Abstract

Flexible Job shop scheduling problem (FJSSP) is one of scheduling problems with specification: there is a job to be done in a certain order, each job contains a number of operations and each operation is processed on a machine of some available machine. The purpose of this paper is to solve Multi-objective Flexible Job Shop scheduling problem with minimizing the makespan, the biggest workload and the total workload of all machines. Because of complexity these problem, a integrated approach Immune Algorithm (IA) and Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm are combined to solve the multi-objective FJSSP. A clonal selection is a strategy for generating new antibody based on selecting the antibody for reproduction. SA is used as a local search search algorithm for enhancing the local ability with certain probability to avoid becoming trapped in a local optimum. The simulation result have proved that this hybrid immune algorithm is an efficient and effective approach to solve the multi-objective FJSSP

Abstract

Mathematical terms in English often confuse students with their meanings. In its application, the impact on students' difficulties in understanding the concepts being studied. Students also have a problem in making useful conclusions while the books in English-language textbooks. These things make most Mathematics education students low-motivation and challenging to understand the concepts and basic mathematics derived from English-language texts. The term dictionary can be an alternative solution that can be used to overcome the problems. In general, the term dictionary discusses terms that are not common in a field. This Android application also provides a specific explanation of the terms that are the main search words. Android applications that have been developed are named RIGA. RIGA has 100 words or phrases in English and explanations and 100 words or terms in Indonesian along with answers. This study uses qualitative and quantitative data types. Qualitative data were obtained using a questionnaire in the form of suggestions and criticisms given by the test subjects. Meanwhile, quantitative data were obtained from questionnaire distribution scores from the test subjects. The results show that the results of validation by media experts and field trials produce valid results. Thus, it can claim that RIGA can use for the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Mechanics is a challenging topic not only for the students majoring in physics but also for those who are not majoring in physics. This study aims to discover the correlation between students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills experienced by students who major in natural science. The analysis was conducted after the course had been delivered using the hybrid-learning method. Students’ conceptual understanding was measured using 13 multiple-choice questions while their problem-solving skill was measured using 3 essay questions. The normality, the linearity, and the correlation of the data were analyzed. The data is normally distributed with the average score of students’ conceptual understanding was 83 and the average score of students’ problem-solving skills was 48. The linearity test shows that there is a significant linear correlation between students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. However, the Pearson Correlation test result shows that there is no significant positive correlation between the two variables with the coefficient of determination was only 15.4%.

Abstract

The increase in the number of creative industry entrepreneurs on the scale of UMKMs in Indonesia must be supported by several factors so that these businesses can develop. These factors range from business conditions, environment, facilities, and infrastructure, to technology. In terms of the use of technology, UMKM business actors can use it in various fields including the procurement of raw materials, the production process to the marketing and promotion stages of the products produced. This analysis aims to determine the weight the importance of the criteria to create an element of UMKM sales volume. In addition, it also helps UMKM actors in making decisions in choosing and using which alternative best suits their needs. Based on the results of the analysis of this study, it can be concluded that alternative social media is a priority criterion in increasing the sales volume of UMKM actors. Based on the overall average weight value, the alternative for social media is to expand the market by increasing the intensity of promotions with various social media. Such as WhatsApp Business, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and others to increase product sales for UMKM actors.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi informasi pada masa saat ini, membuat penyebaran informasi semakin cepat dan akurat. Hal tersebut membuat tempat penyampaian informasi menjadi penting terkait dengan informasinya. Penelitian ini membuat template aplikasi "AnyWord" kamus dua bahasa berbasis Android yang bersifat fully open-source code. Penelitian ini dirasa perlu karena belum tersedianya template aplikasi kamus yang ringan dan mudah dioperasikan serta bersifat gratis untuk digunakan oleh umum. Pengembangan aplikasi menggunakan model waterfall dan menggunakan perangkat lunak Android Studio dan SQLite. Untuk melakukan uji coba aplikasi, peneliti memilih menggunakan beberapa istilah geometri berbahasa Inggris dari http://www.mathwords.com/. Istilah geometri dipilih karena penerapannya pada jurusan lain misalnya di jurusan sistem informasi, geometri dipelajari oleh mahasiswa saat mempelajari AutoCad, Desain UI / UX, dan lain-lain. Validasi dilakukan secara daring kepada seorang ahli pemrogaman. Selanjutya ujicoba aplikasi dilakukan juga secara daring kepada 20 mahasiswa di lingkungan kampus. Hasil rata-rata keduanya adalah 90,27%. Jadi sesuai dengan skala Likert, aplikasi "AnyWord" layak dan dapat digunakan oleh umum.
