Abstract

Abstrak Guru membutuhkan media yang dapat menggambarkan objek dengan jelas untuk memudahkan siswa dalam menulis deskripsi, maka dipilihlah media video. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh penggunaan media video  terhadap keterampilan menulis deskripsi siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen quasi experimental dengan model desain nonequivalent control group desain. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes. Data hasil nilai pretes-postes dianalisis menggunakan uji t-tes. Hasil uji t-tes diperoleh thitung = 4,85 > ttabel = 2,00. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media video berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis deskripsi siswa sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci: Media, video, keterampilan menulis deskripsi.     Abstract  Teachers need the media that describe the object clearly to help students write description, then choosen video media. The aim of  this research to determine the effect of using video media toward description writing skills of elementary school students. The method of this research is a quasi experimental by using design models nonequivalent control group design. Data collection techniques using the test. Data from the pretest-posttest values were analyzed using t-tests. T-tests collected by test results obtained tcount = 4.85> ttable = 2.00. This result show that there are differences in learning results between the experimental group and the control group. Based on these results it can be concluded that the using of video media influence on description writing skills of primary school students. Keywords: media, video, description writing skills.

Abstract

Solo City located in Central Java Province with potential cultural tourism. Tourist objects in Solo City were varied from traditional, namely Kasunanan Solo Palace, to modern, such as Beteng Trade Center. Tourists are freely to visit those tourist objects and bought souvenirs that were easily to found around the city. This study aim to describe tourist?s characteristics who visited Solo City. The characteristics were divided into demographic aspect, physiologic aspect, and tourist trip pattern. Method used in this study was mixed and questionnaires were distributed among 100 respondents, then result was describe into preferred aspects. The results were clustered into specific aspects. Demographic aspect showed that most of the tourist was woman, aged between 15-24 years old, the majority of respondents were not civil servant or industrial labor, high school graduated, and not married. Physiologic aspect showed majority of respondents visited Solo City no more than 12 hours, and spend mostly on trip cost. Lastly, from tourist trip pattern, majority were traveled with non-family group, for holiday purposed, and arranged independently. Key words: characteristic, demographic, physiologic, tourism, trip
