Abstract

This study aims to determine (1) the influence of mathematical communication skills on students’ learning outcomes, (2) the influence of logical thinking on students’ learning outcomes, (3) the influence of mathematical communication skills and logical thinking on learning outcomes. This research was a correlational expost-facto study. The sample of this study were 160 students of grade V elementary school students in Sombaopu, Gowa in the academic year of 2017/2018, who were obtained through proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was done by providing tests of mathematical communication skills, tests of logical thinking and tests of student learning outcomes. The analysis technique used is descriptive statistics by finding the maximum, minimum, mean, and standard deviation values. The results of this study indicate: (1) there is a significant influence between mathematical communication skills and students’ learning outcomes. (2) there is a significant influence between logical thinking and students’ learning outcomes. (3) there is a significant influence between mathematical communication skills and logical thinking with students’ learning outcomes

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika pada sekolah dasar masih mengalami kesulitan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil tes yang diperoleh siswa yang masih rendah. Kurangnya minat siswa terhadap mata pelajaran matematika merupakan salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi dan pengaruh pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) yang didukung oleh media pembelajaran interaktif Vlog terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design.  Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa Kelas V. B pada SDN Unggulan Mongisidi 1 Makassar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar pretest rata-rata 73,97 sedangkan hasil belajar postest mencapai rata-rata 80,74 Ini artinya terjadi peningkatan memiliki hasil belajar Matematika siswa di SDN Unggulan Mongisidi 1 Makassar, Sedangkan hasil uji paired sample t test diperoleh nilai Sig. 0,000 < 0,05, hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Implementasi pendekatan STEM berbantuan media pembelajaran interaktif Vlog berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar Matematika siswa di SDN Unggulan Mongisidi 1 Makassar.
