Abstract

The Paper proposes Long Term Evolution (LTE) network design using of which is Node B data existing in the city of Pekanbaru. The design was involved several stages, those were collectingNode B data existing, the network planning based on the capacity, the network planning base on the coverage and the last did a final simulation planning using Atoll Software to get the configurationdesign based on coverage in the value calculation of link budget and cell radius required capital propagation channels. In this planning propagation models used Okumura-Hatta because thefrequency used is 700 MHz. Based on the obtained capacity planning cell maximum capacity is 150,84 Mbps, with the number of LTE subcribers as much as 1,979,972 users. The number ofeNode B needs to give on optimal service through the Pekanbaru city as many as 101 eNode B, with each cell radius to 10 km2 of Urban area, 13 km2 to Suburban area and 19 km2 to Rural area. Keywords : Planning by Capacity, Planning by Coverage, Okumura-Hatta, Software Atoll

Abstract

This paper discusses about fiber to the home network (FTTH) at panam riau university campus. In designing, it is required to determine the closest STO, and the determination of the distribution channels. The analysis of designing will involve two parameters.i.e. power link budget, and rise time budget. The result of power link budget shows a maximum of -27 dBm receiver sensitivity. In the meantime the downlink an uplink total calculation is considered acceptable to conduct the NRZ encoding due to remains within the specification of downlink and uplink bitrate total time.i.e. 0,562 ns and 0,2813 ns, respectively. In overall, it is indicated that the link budget and the rise time budget is complied to NRZ encoding requierementKeywords : University of Riau, FTTH, Power Link Budget, Rise Time Budget

Abstract

This paper proposes Long Term Evolution (LTE) network design using of which is eNodeB parameter data existing supplied by Telkomsel operators in the area of Universitas Riau, Pekanbaru. The design was involved several stages namely data analysis, network planning based on capacity (Capacity Planning), network planning based on area coverage (Planning Coverage)and the final stage of design to do simulation using the software atoll. Based on capacity planning, obtained a maximum capacity of cell is 100.6 Mbps with the coverage area cells 1,001 km2 andradius cells 0.444 km2 so obtained 4 eNodeB. Based on obtained coverage planning, obtained a link budget calculation parameters are planning well enough in accordance with the standards ofquality coverage planning, with extensive coverage area cells 262.8 km2 and radius cells 7.2 km2 so obtained 1 eNode. Universitas Riau have urban morphology with an area of 3.62 km2 and 13.978 subscribers, simulation of design on software atoll generate an average signal level -72.11 dBm.Keywords : LTE, planning capacity, Planning Coverage, Average Signal Level

Abstract

This paper reports an application of a series resonance converter as a high voltage generator to drive a surface barrier discharge with a magnetic field. The high voltage was about 5 kV with the frequency of 25 kHz. It was connected to circular aluminum plates as the anode electrode and a rectangular aluminum plate as the cathode electrode. These electrodes were separated by a glass dielectric as the barrier. The experiment result indicated that the discharge current with magnetic field was lower than without magnetic field. The plasma on the surface barrier with magnetic field was more luminous than without magnetic field. It also indicated that the area of Lissajous diagram for the surface barrier discharge with magnetic field was slightly decreased than without magnetic field. It could be concluded that the magnetic field affects the plasma progress on the surface barrier. Molecular dynamic (MD) could be used in understanding the ionization process of air molecules. The ionization energies for CO2, N2, and O2 were 0.0502 kcal/mol, 0.0526 kcal/mol and 0.430 kcal/mol, respectively in 1,000 seconds. The highest ionization energy was O2.

Abstract

WiMax (World wide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a standard Broadband Wireless Access with the ability to provide high speed data services to a wider area which is powered by a standard IEEE 802.16d (802.16-2004). Wimax technology supports multiple services one of which is video streaming. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of network devices wimax in the Lab Electrical Engineering Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau to access the streaming video service. This study did some test scenarios include using two clients (point-tomultipoint) and one client (point-to-point), add a distance of 5 meters, 10 meters to 15 meters, 20 meters and additional traffic load (video resolution) 360p , 480p, 720p and 1080p. The method used is the method of packet sniffing for 300 seconds using software wireshark to see Quality of servive (QoS). QoS parameters analyzed such as throughput, delay, packet loss and jitter. Analysis of best measurement was obtained at a distance of 5 meters with 360p video resolution by throughput 7638.54975 Byte / s, delay 0.15136306 s, packet loss  0% and jitter 0.30060517 s by using two client. And at a distance of 20 meters with 1080p video resolution by throughput 8053.490398 Byte / s, delay 0.082082906 s, packet loss 0%  and jitter 0.156352979 s  by using one client. . Keyword: Wimax, Video streaming, QoS, Packet sniffing

Abstract

This simulation study presents the effect of lightning strikes on the performance of arresters at 150 kV overhead lines. Lightning strikes have several parameters that affect the performance of line arresters (LA), namely lightning charge, and impulse energy. The simulation was attempted by injection of a direct strike to the ground wire with the peak voltage of 10 MV. The peak voltage was varied in terms of wavefront time (Tf) and the duration of lightning impulses (tau). In order to calculate current, charge and impulse energy of LA from various variations of Tf and tau, the trapezoidal numerical integration method is used. The current and impulse energy arising due to direct strikes and various variations of Tf and tau will be compared for each phase so that the influence of Tf and tau can be obtained from the performance of the LA and the current charge and impulse energy values are still within the limits of the IEEE C62.11 standard. The installation of LA and the position of arresters affected the peak voltage of lightning on the phase line when lightning struck it. The line arresters provide a drop in the peak voltage of lightning in phase lines. By installing line arresters in each tower, it will reduce the peak voltage of lightning on the phase line more significantly than the standalone line arrester. It is shown that the line arresters have to install at least six towers to reduce the peak voltage in the phase lines.

Abstract

Since its creation by Bram Cohen in 2001, BitTorrent has proven to provide the best way to file distribution among peer-to-peer system. Instead of establishing a single one-way stream of information like a client-server system, BitTorrent makes several connections to other clients that contain at least part of the desired information. This information is then simultaneously downloaded from and uploaded to the other clients in pieces. To design a close-to-real-world testing environment for BitTorrent experiment at the costs of a real hardware solution in this paper presents a BitTorrent performance analysis with virtualization. From results of the experiment suggested BitTorrent get faster distribution time compared to FTP with more requests and can be slower if have to deal with free riders clients. At the piece selection experiment, suggested BiTorrent get best distribution time at piece with numbers 1400.Keyword: Peer-to-Peer, BitTorrent, Virtualisation, Performance Analisys
