Abstract

Abstract: This research was based on the students’ achievement in learning mathematics especially grade VII4 of SMP Negeri 4 Siak Hulu under the Mastery Minimum Criteria with percentage of 35,14% on the test about integer and fractional. This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning result in mathematics ingrade VII4  of SMP Negeri 4 Siak Hulu by implementation of inquiry learning strategy. This research is a class action research.  The subject of this research were the students in the class VII4  of  SMP Negeri 4 Siak Hulu that consist of 19 boys and 18  girls at the first  semester of academic year 2016/2017. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and student’smathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in desciptive narative, while the student’smathematic tests were analyzed in statistic desciptive. The descriptive narative showed an improvement of  learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematic from the basic score with percentage 35,14 % to 45,95% on the first test and 64,87% on second test. Based on the result of this research could be concluded that the implementation of inquiry learning strategy can improve the learning process and improve the student’s achievement of learning mathematic in grade VII4  of SMP Negeri 4 Siak Hulu in the first semester academic years 2016/2017.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research which aims to improve learning process and increase the mathematics learning outcomes by implying Problem Based Learning model. Subjects of this research are the students of grade VIII5 SMPN 16 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2016/2017. Total number of participant are 44, consisting of 22 male students and 22 female students with heterogeneous academic achievement. This research have two cycles, each have four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each cycles ended by daily examination (UH). The data collected by observation and test. The data analised by narative descriptive and statistical descriptive. The data was obtained from the observation sheets shows that teacher and students’ activities are improved after the model implemented. Students are mostly active in the learning process with the implementation of PBL, started from responding the problems presented in the early activity, discuss in groups to gain information, process the information to create a plan and solve the problems, arrange the report of discussion, presenting their works, respond to other groups’ presentation, and provide conclusions. From the data of students’ evaluation test, shows that the percentage of students who passed KKM increased from the basic score before action (38, 63%) to UH I (59,09%). Students learning outcomes also increased from UH I to UH II (68,18%). Based on the explanation above the implementation of Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning process and increase the mathematics learning outcomes for students of grade VIII5 SMP Negeri 16 Pekanbaru on odd semester of 2016/2017, of the basic competence (1.3) Understanding relations and functions. (1.4) Determine the value of functions, and (1.5) Sketching graphs of simple algebraic functions on the Cartesian coordinate plane.

Abstract

Abstract: The motivated of this study is the restrict of mathematics learning instruments as supporting learning in Curriculum 2013 . This study aimed to develop mathematics learning instruments with approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) on plane of triangle for 7th grade SMP/MTs. Learning instruments in this study are lesson plan and student activity sheet. This study method used is 4D model by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel, and Melvyn I. Semmel that consist of define, design, development, and disseminate, but the study only done to development step. Based on the results, data analysis can be concluded that the study of mathematics is very valid to the average ratings for the lesson plan is 3.68 and the average ratings for the student activity sheet is 3.65. The student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification in mean percentage of student responses 98% in the small group trial.Keywords: Mathematics Learning Instrument, Approach Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), Research and Development.

Abstract

Abstract: this research is motivated by the result of learning mathematics of class student VIII6 SMP Negeri 12 Pekanbaru which is still under the minimum mastery criteria with a persentage of 37,5% only 15 students from 40 students who achieve the minimum mastery criteria on the subject matter of the circle. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning process and increase the student?s mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of Cooperative learning structured approach Numbered Heads Together. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VIII6 SMP Negeri 12 Pekanbaru in the second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year with the subject of as many as 40 students, consist of 22 boys and 18 girls. The research instrument consists of learning devices and instrument data collectors. Learning device used in this research is the Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Worksheet. The instrument data collector used in this research is the observation sheet and math achievement test. The observation sheet was analyzed descriptive qualitative while the test of mathematics learning outcomes was analyzed statistically. Based on qualitative analiysis showed that implementation of learning process on cycle II had happened improvement from implementation on cycle I. Weakness on cycle I is improved on implementation cycle II according with planning of improvement after reflection cycle I. Number of students that reach Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to daily test II. The number of students who reach Minimum Mastery Criteria on basic scor, daily test I and daily test IIare respectively 15 person (37,5%), 20 person (50%) and 27 person (67,5%). Results of this research indicates that application of the Cooperative learning structured approach Numbered Heads Together can improve learning process and increase mathematics learning outcomes from the students at class VIII6 SMP Negeri 12 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2016/2017.Key words: Students? Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the result of students math achievement at class VIII.6 SMP Negeri 21 Pekanbaru which is still under the minimum mastery criteria with a percentage of 42,5% or 17 students from 40 students who achieve the minimum mastery criteria on the subject matter of the Pythagoras Theorem and 40% or 16 students from 40 students who achieve the minimum mastery criteria on the subject matter of the Circles Tangent. This research aims to improve increase students mathematics achievement through implementation of cooperative learning type Team Games Tournament. This type of research is the Classroom Action Research with two cycle. The research was conducted in class VIII.6 SMP Negeri 21 Pekanbaru in the second semester of the 2015/2016 academic years with the subject of as many 40 students, consist of 22 boys and 18 girls. Abstract

Abstract: This is a pre-experimental study that aims to determine the effect of the application of problem-solving strategies in Think Pair Share (TPS) structural approach of cooperative learning for mathematics learning outcomes (MLO) which include attitudes, knowledge, and skills competences. This research was conducted in grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Rengat on odd semester Academic Year (AY) 2014/2015 with the subject matter of numbers pattern. This study design using Intec Group Comparison. The population in this study is the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Rengat AY 2014/2015. Samples in this study involved three groups were selected by purposive sampling technique, each of as many as 35 students, VIIB as the first experimental class following study with problem solving strategies in TPS structural approach of cooperative learning (PSSTPS), VIID as the second experimental class following the TPS structural approach of cooperative learning (TPSCL), and VIIC as the controll class following conventional learning (CL). The MLO data of attitude competence taken using self-assessment techniques, whereas knowledge and skills competences taken using math achievement test. This study showed the following results. (1) There are differences in MLO of skills and knowledge competences among learners who follow PSSTPS and learners who follow CL. (2) There are differences in MLO of knowledge competence among learners who follow TPSCL and learners who follow CL. (3) There is no difference in MLO of knowledge and skills competences among learners who follow PSSTPS, TPSCL, and PK in addition to those mentioned in (1) and (2). Abstract

Abstract: This classroom action research is aimed at improving learning process and improving math learning outcomes by implementing Cooperative Learning Model with Structural Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) Approach. The research subjects are 40 heterogenous academic ability level students of the VIII4 class of State Junior High School 20 Pekanbaru in academic year of 2015/2016. The research consisted of two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phases, i.e; namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. By the end of a cycle, daily test was held. The data was collected by means of observation and daily test. The action success indicators were if there is learning process improvement and the increasing number of students passing Minimun Completeness Criteria (MCC) in daily test I and daily test II. The research shows that teachers and students’ activities were conducted well as planned. Most of the students participated actively in the learning process e.g. discussing, presenting student’s worksheet, responding to classmate’s presentation, and drawing the lesson conclusion. Additionally, the students afforded to answer the written test given by teacher well. Therefore, it can be said that improvement of learning process took place in every meeting. Furthermore, the number of students passing the MCC on base score, daily test I (first cycle), daily test II (second cycle) were respectively 35%, 52,5%, and 77,5%. The percentage of MCC achievement also indicates the increase after the implementation, thus it can be said that the students’ learning outcomes also increse. Finally, the research also shows that cooperative learning model with structural two stay two stray (TSTS) approach can improve math learning process and learning outcomes of VIII4 class students at State Junior High School 20 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Math Learning Outcomes, Cooperative Learning Model with Structural Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) Approach, Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes class VII learners of MTs Muhammadiyah Duri by applying cooperative learning numbered heads model. The subjects were learners in class VII which consisted of 8 women and 8 men with heterogeneous academic ability. This research is a class act with two cycles . Each cycle has four stage : planning , implementation , observation and reflection . Data collection instrument in this study is the observation sheet activities teachers and learners , as well as the achievement test. Sheets were analyzed qualitatively descriptive narrative, while the achievement test were analyzed by descriptive statistical study by analyzing the development of the individual and group values ​​, KKM achievement analysis , and analysis of the success of the action. Results of research on the observation sheet shows the activity of teachers and learners have done well and according to plan after the action . Improvements in the learning process of students and increase the number of learners who achieve KKM at the end of each cycle UH compared to the number of learners who achieve a score of KKM on base score. At the base score only 31% of learners who reach KKM , the UH I increased to 63% and the UH II also increased to 81% . The results of this study indicate that the application of cooperative learning numbered heads model can improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes class VII learners of MTs Muhammadiyah Duri in the first semester of the academic year 2013/2014 .   Keywords: Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Cooperative Learning, Numbered Heads, Classroom Action Research .

Abstract

Abstract: The research was classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and mathematics learning achievement with applied the cooperative learning think pair square structural approach. The subject of the research is students of class X8 SMAN 2 Siak Hulu in the second semester academic years 2013/2014. There are 36 students in the class, consist of 18 girls and 18 boys with heterogeneous academic ability. This research is execieted in two cycles, and at the of every cycle end  carried out mathematics achievement test. Data collected through observation and mathematics achievement test. Analysis data of observation was performed with narrative descriptive analysis. This research result in showed an increase in students from the base score with the percentage 30,5 % to 52% on the first test and 69,45% on the second test. This research result in indicates that the Learning Cycle 5E (LC 5E) can improve learning process and students' mathematics learning outcomes math class X8 SMAN 2 Siak Hulu.
