Abstract

This research was instigated by the problem of the lack of variety of media develoved in school, that why, it was designed and testing POE (Predict-Observe-Explain) Based Module on Electrolyte and non-Electrolyte Solution lesson. 4-D development model was used in this research until develop stage. The subjects of this research were an Expert of Material, an Expert of Media, 3 teachers to test media practicality and 12 students of State Senior High School for knowing the respond to media. The method of collecting the data was questionnaire sheet that was analyzed by using Qualitative and Quantitative Descriptive. Based on the research finding, it was obtained that the percentage of media validity by the expert media was 89.15% and it was on very valid criterion. The assessment percentage of students practicality test and teacher was 94.5% and it was on very practical criterion.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan miskonsepsi yang dialami siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan konsep redoks serta menjelaskan faktor-faktor penyebab miskonsepsi siswa. Sasaran penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Tambang Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data miskonsepsi siswa diperoleh dari tes diagnostik, wawancara, dan kuisioner. Intrumen tes diagnostik two-tier multiple choice  divalidasi isi dan konstruk oleh satu dosen ahli dan satu guru mata pelajaran kimia SMAN 1 Tambang serta divalidasi empirik oleh 25 siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Tambang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 10,63% siswa mengalami miskonsepsi, 32,73% siswa paham konsep, dan 56,64% siswa tidak paham konsep. Miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada siswa disebabkan oleh kondisi siswa, buku pegangan dan guru.

Abstract

The biosorption characteristic of Cd(II) ions from aqueous solution using Lengkuas Merah (Alpinia Gralanga) were investigated as a function of pH. The maximum biosorption capacity of a Lengkuas Merah (Alpinia Gralanga) for Cd(II) was found to be 18,37 mg/L and 91,85% at optimum pH was 10. At pH 2 to 10 the biosorption of Cd ions tends to increase. The result showed that the lengkuas merah  can be evaluated as an alternative biosorbent to treatment waste water containing Cd(II). A Lengkuas Merah is low cost and has considerable high biosorption capacity.

Abstract

This research was a quasi-experiment instigated by the low of student character building. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing character building through guided inquiry strategy on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution material at state senior high school 9 pekanbaru that characters studied were honesty, responsibility, cooperation, discipline, and curiosity. Purposive sampling was used in this research, and there were two classes of samples selected that the tenth grade of Natural Science 4 was as the experimental group taught by implementing Character Building through Guided Inquiry strategy and Natural Science 3 was as the control group taught by using discussion, question and answer methods. This research was conducted for three meetings. Documentation and observation were the techniques of collecting the data. T-test was used to know the research findings of student communication skill. Final data processing results showed that tobserved was 2.19 and ttable was 1.99, and it revealed that tobserved was higher than ttable. Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. There was an effect of implementing Character Building through Guided Inquiry strategy on Electrolyte and Non-Electrolyte Solution material at State Senior High School 9 Pekanbaru, and its coefficient effect was 5.86%.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was instigated by student workbook integrating Chemistry material with STEM that was not yet available.  Since the outbreak of COVID-19, WHO has recommended to temporarily suspend activities that could potentially cause crowds. Therefore, the learning process is carried out online during COVID-19 emergency period.  One alternative supporting the online learning process was by using Moodle learning media in which there was Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) based student workbook.  This research aimed at knowing the validity and practicality levels of STEM based student workbook on Acid Base lesson.  It was Research and Development (R&D) with Borg and Gall development model, but it was only until the fifth stagerevising the initial form of the product.  This research was conducted to the twelfth-grade students of MIPA 4 at State Senior High School 2 Tambang.  Interview, questionnaire, and documentation were the techniques of collecting the data.  The research findings showed that STEM based student workbook got the validity percentages from media and material experts continuously 93.75% and 82.2% with very valid criteria, while the validity percentage of Moodle learning media was 78.46%.   The practicality percentage of the workbook was 90% with very practical criterion, and the workbook got positive and good student response with the percentage 90%.Keywords: Student Workbook, STEM, Acid Base, Moodle Learning Media

Abstract

AbstractThis research was instigated by the low of students creative thinking ability at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja. This research aimed at knowing the effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson at State Senior High School 1 Perhentian Raja.  It was Quasi Experimental research.  Simple Random Sampling technique was used in this research.  The samples comprised two classes, the eleventh-grade students of Natural Science 1 that were 33 students as the Control group and the students of Natural Science 2 that were 32 studentsas the Experimental group. The techniques of collecting the data were tests in the form of homogeneity test as the preliminary data, pretest and posttest as the final data, observation, and documentation. The instrument of this research was creative thinking ability test in the form of essay with the indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed by using t test at 5% significant level.  The research findings showed that there was a significant effect of implementing Guided Inquiry learning model with student workbook toward student creative thinking ability on Colloid lesson that t was 4.268 and the score of Sig. Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed at designing Guided Note Taking (GNT) based module that was valid based on the validation by the experts of material and media, teacher practicality, and student response on Atomic Structure and Periodic System of the Elements lesson.  It was R&D (Research and Development) with 4-D development model.  It was administered at State Senior High School 12 Pekanbaru and it was conducted to the tenth-grade students of MIPA 4.  The module could be stated proper if it complied the valid and practical aspects. Validity could be seen from the results of validation that the validation sheet was used.  The percentage of the validation result by the experts of material overall was 94.74% and it was on very valid category.  The percentage of the validation result by the experts of media overall was 86.6% and it was on very valid category.  Practicality test was conducted to 3 teachers and it was obtained the result 84.44% and it was on very practical category. Student responses were obtained from 20 students, and the questionnaire result was 81.06% and it was on very good category. Keywords : Module, Guided Note Taking, Atomic Structure and Periodic System of the ElementsAbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya minat dan perhatian peserta didik dalam pembelajaran kimia sehingga diperlukan inovasi atau pembaharuan pada media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang modul berbasis Guided Note taking (GNT) yang layak berdasarkan validasi ahli materi dan media, kepraktisan guru, dan respon siswa pada materi Struktur Atom dan Sistem Periodik Unsur. Jenis penelitian ini adalah R&D dengan model 4-D dengan tahapan (1) pendefenisian (define), (2) Perancangan (design), (3) Pengembangan (develop). Modul dapat dikatakan layak apabila memenuhi aspek valid dan praktis. Validitas dapat dilihat dari hasil validasi yang digunakan. Persentase hasil validasi ahli materi secara keseluruhan adalah 94,74% dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Persentase hasil validasi ahli media secara keseluruhan adalah 86,6% dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Uji kepraktisan dilakukan kepada 3 orang guru diperoleh hasil 84,44% dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat praktis. Respon siswa diperoleh dari 20 siswa, dan hasil angket sebesar 81,06% berada pada kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

AbstractLearn from covid-19 pandemic, It is necessary to renew, adjust, and improve teaching and learning activities in schools. One of them is by utilizing and developing learning media based on technology that can show various microscopic and abstract concepts that are difficult to display or visualize directly, namely interactive worksheets based on live worksheets. This research was carried out in the 2021/2022 academic year at Senior High School Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru with the main material being is acid-base. The method of this research used was ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) modeling with limitation up to the implementation stage only. The data taken in this research were in the form of literature studies, interviews, and questionnaires. The data collection instrument of this research was in the form of validity questionnaires and responses questionnaires data. The data obtained were then analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. Interactive students worksheets based on the live worksheets on acid-base materials had been tested to be very valid with a percentage of 88.93% from media experts and 82,44% from material experts and got very good response from students with percentage of 92,66%. Based on these results it can be concluded that interactive student worksheets based on live worksheets on acid - base materials are declared to be valid and reliable so that this media is suitable to be applied in the learning process.Keywords : Acid Base, Liveworksheet, E-LKPD
