Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the application of inquiry modules with cognitive conflict strategies in chemical bonding material in improving students' critical thinking skills. This research is a quantitative descriptive study that was carried out with the design of one group pretest posttest. The sample used was 26 students who took general chemistry courses with a purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed by normalized N-gain method and paired samples t-test. The result of this study showed that average N-gain of student critical thinking skill after application of inquiry modules with cognitive conflict strategies is 0.6 with medium category. Average score of student critical thinking skill after treatment (74,12) is significantly higher than before (35,77) that proved by t statistic (41,09) higher than t critic (1,71) with df = 25 and p = 0,000 on one tail t-test. Therefore, it was concluded that the application of inquiry modules with cognitive conflict strategies enhance student critical thinking skill on chemical bonding material learning effectively.

Abstract

Studying hydrocarbon material requires ability in problem solving so students are able to identify, analyze, and describe abstract chemical concepts and principles into concrete. The purpose of this study was to the improving of students' hydrocarbon problem solving abilities through the SAVI learning model assisted by puzzle media. The research design used in this study was pre-experimental with a research design namely One Group Pretest-Posttest Design.The study was conducted at SMAN 7 Mataram, Jl. Adi Sucipto, Ampenan Utara, Kec. Ampenan, Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara. The subjects of this study were students of class XI Science. The research instrument include syllabus, lesson plans, worksheets, and multiple choice test items. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain test to find out the increased ability to solve hydrocarbon problems. The results showed that the level of N-Gain was in the range of 0.33 with a moderate category which meant an increase in students' problem solving abilities after using the SAVI model assisted by puzzle media. Thus, it can be concluded that students' problem solving abilities can be improved through the application of SAVI learning models assisted by puzzle media.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan beberapa kelompok masyarakat yang tidak produktif menjadi masyarakat yang mandiri secara ekonomi.Hasil kegiatan yang telah dicapai meliputi: (1) telah dilaksanakan proses seleksi dan rekruitmen peserta program KKN-PPM; (2) kegiatan pembekalan telah dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga tahap dengan tema pembekalan umum kegiatan KKN yang diberikan oleh pimpinan institut dan LPPM, dilanjutkan dengan pembekalan khusus tentang topik KKN-PPM yaitu biografi daerah sasaran KKN-PPM, pembuatan kumbung jamur, dan cara membuat budidaya jamur tiram; selanjutnya pelatihan budidaya jamur tiram;  (3) terbitnya buku petunjuk budidaya jamur yang bisa digunakan masyarakat sebagai panduan dalam budidaya jamur; (4) terlaksananya pelatihan budidaya jamur tiram; (5) terbentuknya duakumbung budidaya jamur tiram; (6) pemasaran dilaksanakan melalui penjualan langsung dan melalui media sosial.Empowerment of Farmers in Pringgabaya Village, Lombok Timur through Cultivating Oyster Mushrooms as Efforts Towards Independent VillagesAbstractThis service activity aims to empower several unproductive groups of people to become economically independent communities. The results of activities that have been achieved include: (1) a selection and recruitment process for participants in the KKN-PPM program has been carried out; (2) debriefing activities have been carried out in three stages with the theme of general debriefing for KKN activities provided by the institute and LPPM leaders, followed by special briefing on the KKN-PPM topic, namely biography of KKN-PPM target areas, making kumbung mushrooms, and how to make mushroom cultivation. oyster; then training in oyster mushroom cultivation; (3) publication of a manual for mushroom cultivation that can be used by the community as a guide in mushroom cultivation; (4) implementation of oyster mushroom cultivation training; (5) formation of two oyster mushroom cultivation basins; (6) marketing is carried out through direct sales and through social media.

Abstract

Artikel ini akan mendeskripsikan tentang kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat desa Gunungsari melalui pengelolaan sampah plastik dan logam. Kegiatan ini merupakan progran KKN-PPM yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus-Oktober 2017. Rangkaian kegiatan yang dilaksanakan yakni sosialisasi pemilahan sampah, pembentukan bank sampah, pelatihan pembuatan produk kerajinan berbahan baku sampah plastik dan logam, dan pemasaran produk. Sasaran utama kegiatan ini adalah ibu-ibu rumah tangga dan PKK, remaja putri dan karang taruna desa gunungsari. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan 30 orang mahasiswa KKN. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah terbentuknya kesadaran masyarakat desa gunungsari tentang manfat ekonomis sampah plastik dan logam, terbentuknya wadah ekonomi kreatif yakni Bank Sampah Al-Furqon Desa Gunungsari, terbentuknya kelompok pengumpul sampah dan pengerajin, pemasaran produk dilaksankan melalui penjualan langsung, pameran-pameran yang bekerjasama dengan Humas IKIP Mataram, dan melalui media sosial.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil pengujian di laboratorium penguji Balai Pengkajin Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) NTB bahwa batuan tambang yang ada di daerah Sekotong tidak hanya mengandung emas tetapi terdapat beberapa kandungan mineral lainnya seperti P, Zn, Fe, Cu, Al, dan S, metode yang digunakan dengan AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry). Logam berat Fe merupakan logam berat essensial yang keberadaannya dalam jumlah tertentu sangat dibutuhkan oleh organisme hidup, namun dalam jumlah yang berlebih dapat menimbulkan efek racun. Untuk mengatasi masalah maka melakukan dua kegiatan yakni: a) penyuluhan tentang pentingnya kebersihan terhadap lingkungan. b) pembuatan saluran limbah agar tidak mencemari lingkungan yakni pembuatan kolam pengendapan (settling pond). Selain itu dari kolam pengendapan (settling pond) didapat lumpur dari sisa pengolahan atau penggelondongan emas, lumpur tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi barang bernilai ekonomi dan memiliki harga jual seperti bata tanpa bakar. Hasil dari kegiatan yang dilakukan yaitu pengetahuan masyarakat penambang tentang pentingnya lingkungan yang bersih dan kolam pengendapan (settling pond) dan kemampuan masyarakat tambang dalam mengolah limbah menjadi barang bernilai jual yaitu dengan membuat bata tanpa bakar. Keberhasilan dari kegiatan ini terlihat dari banyaknya masyarakat yang hadir dan antusiasnya mereka dalam mendukung kegiatan ini yakni dengan terjun langung membantu.Counseling and Making Settling Pond in an Effort to Reduce Mine Waste PollutionAbstractBased on the test results at the NTB Agricultural Technology Center (BPTP) examiner laboratory that mining rocks in the Sekotong area not only contain gold but there are several other mineral contents such as P, Zn, Fe, Cu, Al, and S, the method used with AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry). Heavy metal Fe is an essential heavy metal whose existence in a certain amount is needed by living organisms, but in excessive amounts can cause toxic effects. To overcome the problem, two activities are carried out, namely: a) counseling about the importance of cleanliness to the environment. b) making sewage lines so as not to pollute the environment, namely the creation of settling ponds. Besides that, from settling ponds, sludge is obtained from the processing waste or gold rolling, the sludge can be utilized as economic value goods and has a selling price such as brick without burning. The results of the activities carried out are the knowledge of the mining community about the importance of a clean environment and settling ponds and the ability of the mining community to process waste into valuable goods, by making bricks without burning. The success of this activity can be seen from the large number of people present and their enthusiasm in supporting this activity by jumping in to help.
