Abstract

The aim of this study are to explore teachers’ strategy to teach literacy in EFL classroom and to find out their reflection in their literacy teaching. This study was conducted in descriptive qualitative approach, by using observation and interview to collect the data from the participants which were seven grades English teacher and ten students in seven grade in an Islamic private junior high school. The results showed that teachers applied various strategies to incorporate literacy in EFLclassrooom, They also shared students’ opinions as English teachers related to their belief and experience towards the teachers’ strategy and their effectiveness in teaching the literacy in English subject Keywords: Literacy, Strategies, EFL

Abstract

AbstractThis article is entitled “Substitution in Dyslexia Student of Yayasan Pantara Jakarta: A psycholinguistics Study”. The purpose of the study is to get more understanding about Substitution which is commonly experienced by several Dyslexic elementary school students between 8 to 10 years old who are studying in the 2nd to 4th grade of Sekolah Dasar Yayasan Pantara Jakarta, a very special school for those who experience Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia and other special needs, which is located in Jalan Tebet Raya Jakarta Pusat. The main theory used for this study are taken from O’Grady (1997) which particularly concerns about Psycholinguistics study, Gribben (2012) which mainly concerns about Dyslexia and Mc. Manis (1998) which focuses on Substitution. This is an experimental study with the students as the object of the research. Writing tests were explicated in this study. The writing test was concluded by practicing some words which are taken from Lerner’s theory about basic sight words which suitable for children in 2nd to 4th grade of elementary school students and also from Swadesh’s 200 basic words which are already taught by their teacher while they are studying in their school. Meanwhile, the method used is descriptive-qualitative. The data is collected using qualitative method and furthermore is analyzed using descriptive method. This study brings out the finding that there is certain types of substitution commonly found among elementary school students in Yayasan Pantara Jakarta. Keywords: psycholinguistics, dyslexia, substitution AbstrakArtikel ini berjudul “Sibstitusihurufpada Siswa Disleksia di Yayasan Pantara Jakarta: Studi Psikolinguistik”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan pemahaman lebih lanjut tentang Substitusi yang umumnya dialami oleh beberapa siswa sekolah dasar disleksia antara 8 hingga 10 tahun yang belajar di kelas 2 hingga 4 Sekolah Dasar Yayasan Pantara Jakarta, sekolah yang sangat khusus bagi mereka yang mengalami Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia dan kebutuhan khusus lainnya, yang terletak di Jalan Tebet Raya Jakarta Pusat. Teori utama yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini diambil dari O'Grady (1997) yang terutama membahas tentang studi Psikolinguistik, Gribben (2012) yang terutama membahas tentang Dyslexia dan Mc. Manis (1998) yang berfokus pada Substitusi. Ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan siswa sebagai objek penelitian. Tes menulis dijelaskan dalam penelitian denganmelatih beberapa kata yang diambil dari teori Lerner tentang kata-kata dasar yang cocok untuk anak-anak di kelas 2 hingga 4 siswa sekolah dasar dan juga dari 200 kata dasar Swadesh yang sudah diajarkan oleh guru mereka saat mereka belajar di sekolah mereka. Sementara itu, metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode kualitatif dan selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif. Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan bahwa ada beberapa jenis substitusi yang biasa ditemukan di kalangan siswa sekolahdasar di Yayasan Pantara Jakarta. Abstract

AbstractThis research describes about presupposition in candy advertisements. It is a descriptive-qualititve research.Descriptive study in textual analysis is applied in this study to analyze the presupposition of the utterances produced by slogan in candy advertisements.The purpose of The study is to identify the type of presuppositions in candy advertisements and the phenomena that are appeared in the advertisement in presupposition as one part of pragmatics study.The result of the study showed that there are two types of Presupposition appeared from all of the data. The first type is Existential presupposition and the second type is Non- Factive Presupposition. This research also showed that there are four brands for the Existential Presupposition and one brand for the Non-Factive Presupposition.  Keywords:Pragmatics, presupposition,existential presupposition AbstrakPenelitian ini menjelaskan tentang pengandaian dalam iklan permen. Ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Studi deskriptif dalam analisis tekstual diterapkan dalam penelitian ini untuk menganalisis anggapan ucapan yang dihasilkan oleh slogan dalam iklan permen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis prasangka dalam iklan permen dan fenomena. yang muncul dalam iklan dalam presuposisi sebagai salah satu bagian dari studi pragmatik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua jenis Presuposisi yang muncul dari semua data. Tipe pertama adalah presuposisi Eksistensial dan tipe kedua adalah Presuposisi Non-Faktor. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa ada empat merek untuk Presuposisi Eksistensial dan satu merek untuk Presuposisi Non-Faktor. Kata kunci: Pragmatik, presuposisi, presuposisi eksistensial

Abstract

Marketing is a social and managerial process that makes individuals / groups get what they need and want by creating, offering and exchanging valuable products to other parties. Marketing involves many different activities that add value to the product when the product moves through the system. The current marketing system that is becoming a new trend is the online marketing system. With the emergence of a new era in the field of marketing which is referred to as the digital marfketing era, we entrepreneurs must consider various online media to be used in determining the company's strategic planning. One of the media intended is social media. Social media that is widely used by everyone and is quite popular in Indonesia today is Facebook and Instagram. Indonesia is one country with a high number of Facebook users, certainly has a great opportunity and opportunity to use social media as part of strategic marketing planning. Marketing through online media has many great advantages, one of which is that the costs incurred are relatively cheaper compared to other media in carrying out product promotion activities. In this paper, we discuss the promotion process for tofu and tempeh entrepreneurs in Indonesia. As we know, tofu and tempeh are one of the foods that can be categorized as a companion to the staple food of the Indonesian people. This soy-based food is very popular with all levels of society in Indonesia. However, tempeh and tofu are still categorized as food for the lower class. Meanwhile, we still import raw materials to get tofu and tempeh from abroad. The irony is that sounds, but, that's what happens now. The lack of knowledge of the tofu and tempeh artisans is what makes this commodity not glimpsed by circles other than the middle and lower classes. Therefore, we must educate the artisans of tofu and tempeh and teach them to know the tofu and tempeh globally. Abstract

Pandemi yang telah terjadi sejak 2019 ini berpengaruh terhadap sektor pendidikan Indonesia. Sistem pembelajaran yang biasanya selalu dilaksanakan secara langsung/tatap muka beralih menjadi sistem pembelajaran secara daring. Pembelajaran daring tentu saja berbeda dengan dengan pebelajaran secara langsung sehingga minat belajar anak-anakpun cenderung menurun. Maka dari itu program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang berupa pelatihan bahasa Inggris ini dilaksanakan guna meningkatkan minat belajar serta kemampuan berbahasa Inggris anak. Dalam pelaksanaannya, kami menggunakan metode pelatihan dengan pendekatan observasi. Pengaruh pelatihan bahasa Inggris terhadap minat belajar dan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris pada anak-anak di Babakan Batawi sangat signifikan. Berbagai faktor seperti rendahnya edukasi tentang pembelajaran di masa pandemi, kurangnya komunikasi dan rasa jenuh serta faktor ekonomi mulai terkikis. Pelatihan ini telah meningkatkan minat belajar dan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris anak. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari bertambahnya jumlah anak yang mengikuti pelatihan secara rutin, bertambahnya kosakata bahasa Inggris anak-anak serta kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris yang semakin baik. Hal itu menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan bahasa Inggris ini memberikan pengaruh yang sangat baik terhadap minat belajar dan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris anak-anak di Babakan Batawi Ujung Berung Kota Bandung.

Abstract

Pandemi COVID-19 pada awal tahun 2020 memberikan dampak besar pada sektor Pendidikan, dimana para guru harus melakukan pengajaran secara daring dan proses pembelajaran tersebut sudah berlangsung selama hampir dua tahun. Guru banyak mengeluhkan proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan secara online menjadi tidak mudah karena siswa sudah mulai lelah, jenuh dan kurang memiliki motivasi belajar yang baik. Oleh karena itu kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada guru SMPIT Laa Tahzan Citra Tangerang untuk dapat memanfaatkan pembuatan digital storytelling melalui Google Earth dalam proses pembelajaran khususnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara pada siswanya. Sehingga dapat meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam belajar. Metode pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap, yaitu: 1) tahap analisis, 2) tahap perancangan, 3) tahap pengembangan   materi, 4) tahap pelatihan, dan 5) tahap evaluasi. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan kemampuan guru-guru peserta pelatihan dalam menggunakan teknologi dan mengintegrasikan Google Geo Tools dengan beberapa aplikasi/web dalam pengajaran.

Abstract

Pendidikan di era pandemi sangat berpengaruh kepada minat belajar siswa sekolah dasar hingga universitas. Segala upaya telah dilakukan untuk menunjang pembelajaran secara daring. Tetapi pada kenyataanya tidak semua dapat melaksanakan pembelajaran daring secara maksimal. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan apa yang terjadi di daerah Babakan Batawi Pasirwangi Kota Bandung. Berbagai faktor yang terjadi di lapangan membuktikan akan rendahnya minat untuk belajar dimasa pandemi. Faktor-faktor tersebut diantaranya: [1] rendahya edukasi tentang pandemi; [2] kurangnya komunikasi antara guru dan orangtua kepada siswa; dan [3] ekonomi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, tim pengabdi membuat sebuah program pelatihan bahasa Inggris untuk upaya meningkatkan minat belajar pada anak-anak di lingkungan Babakan Batawi Pasirwangi Kota Bandung. Dari program pelatihan perngabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut dihasilkan peningkatan minat belajar kepada anak-anak yang dapat meningkatkan kembali minat belajar dimasa pandemik serta meningkatnya kemampuan berbicara dan berkomunikasi berbahasa Inggris di desa tersebut.

Abstract

This study aims to notice at the language skills of children from birth to the age of eight years based on the role of adults. The research subject is a boy whom will be known as X, eight years old. This research just focused on X's development of language. Furthermore, children's language acquisition can be categorized into phonology, grammar, semantics, and pragmatics. In collecting data, the authors interviewed one of a friend of the author, named Y. The results of this study indicate the process of language development in children that can be influenced by the role of adults. When the role of adults towards children is not appropriate, then children will experience postpones in language acquisition or postpones in language development in children.

Abstract

The importance of acquiring Indonesian language as a second language underlies the research towards the Indonesian writing results of dysgraphic students at Yayasan Pantara Jakarta. It is very important for Indonesians to acquire Indonesian language because Indonesian language is used as the first language for some city dwellers and a second language for most Indonesians. The main purpose of the research is to identify the morphographemic changes that occur in dysgraphic Indonesian writing results as the second language acquisition at Yayasan Pantara Jakarta. The research used descriptive-qualitative method. The data was taken at Yayasan Pantara Jakarta Elementary School after being conducted direct field survey toward dysgraphic students. The writing analysed based on online KBBI (Indonesian Dictionary) and some theories related to the research. We used the primary theories from Bussmann (1996), Šev?íková (2018), and BOTH (2016). This research also supported by other supporting theories, such as Kidd et al. (2018), Bitchener & Ferris (2012), Sousa (2016), etc. From the analysis of the Indonesian writing results of dysgraphis students at Yayasan Pantara Jakarta, we found some types of morphographemic changes, they are prothesis, epenthesis, paragoge, syncope, apocope, metathesis, and substitution. Prothesis, epenthesis, and paragoge are parts of addition or insertion, while syncope and apocope are parts of deletion.

Abstract

This research focused on handwriting disorders for dysgraphia students. The objective of this research are to analyze and to describe the types of perseveration and types of error in perseveration of 10 dysgraphia elementary school students. This research uses descriptive-qualitative method The data collection technique is from the worksheet that provided to students fill out. Research result discovered there were some perseveration types in dysgraphia found in elementary school students of Yayasan Pantara Jakarta. In this study, only one perseveration type is founded and the type was “Substitution”. The discussion of perseverations part involves ten words. Some students use misspelled words when they confuse one or more characters with different characters. This study also found that it is important to note that most of students have no problem in writing the first letter of a word, the error usually occurs on the next consecutive letter. it can be concluded that there were dysgraphia occure in elementary school students.
