Abstract

Peran orang tua dalam religiositas remaja sangat penting.  Remaja menghadapi banyak tantangan dalam masa pubertas dengan berbagai perkembangan yang cukup kompleks meliputi aspek kognitif, afektif, moral, sosial, dan iman.  Peran orang tua dibutuhkan untuk menolong mereka melewati masa ini sehingga mampu mencapai individuasi, termasuk untuk menentukan identitas imannya.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terdapat hubungan antara kelekatan dan dukungan iman orang tua dengan religiositas 247 remaja berusia 13-18 tahun yang beribadah di kebaktian remaja di lima jemaat Gereja Kristen Abdiel Gloria di Surabaya. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan Spearman Rank Correlation untuk analisis data dari tiga kuesioner yaitu Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), Perceived Faith Support from Parents and Friends (PFS-P dan PFS-F), dan Intrinsic/Extrinsic-Revised Scale. Hasil penelitian menunjukan korelasi yang signifikan dan positif antara variabel-variabel yang diuji.  Semakin tinggi kelekatan kepada orang tua, maka semakin tinggi religiositas remaja; dan semakin tinggi dukungan iman orang tua, maka semakin tinggi religiositas remaja.   English Abstract: The role of parents in adolescent religiosity is exceptionally important. Adolescent overcome many challenges in puberty with a variety of developments that are quite complex, including aspects such as cognitive, affective, moral, social, and faith. The role of parents is needed to assist them overcoming this period in order to reach individuation and determine identity of their faith. This study aims to analyze the correlation between attachment and parental faith support to the religiosity of 247 adolescent, aged 13-18 years, who attend youth services in five congregations of Gereja Kristen Abdiel Gloria in Surabaya. This quantitative study was conducted through Spearman Rank Correlation for data analysis from three questionnaires, namely Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), Perceived Faith Support from Parents and Friends (PFS-P and PFS-F), and Intrinsic/Extrinsic Revised Scale. The research results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between the variables. Higher attachment to parent relates positively to higher religiosity of adolescent. Higher parental faith support relates positively to higher adolescent religiosity and vice versa. Keywords: Attachment, Faith Support, Religiosity, Adolescent

Abstract

Abstract ? The formation of faith in adolescents and young people is rooted in their interaction with parents, both father, and mother, as well as friends. Adolescence and young adulthood are periods of seeking faith in various aspects of life. However, there has not been a measurement of the extent to which adolescents and young people regard parents and friends as role models of their faith. This study was aimed to the Perceived Faith Support - Parents and Friends Scale to be the Scale of Faith Support. The study was conducted through convenience sampling, involving 1,390 participants from three major islands in Indonesia. The results of this adaptation proved to be reliable with internal consistency methods, especially Cronbach's Alpha and to be valid with factor analysis methods. Validation with age criteria is proven by the support of faith from the father and mother, but not with friends. The Faith Support Scale is argued to be fit for both theoretical and practical purposes. The development and application of this scale are further discussed. Abstrak ? Pembentukan iman pada remaja dan kaum muda merupakan hasil interaksi mereka dengan orang tua, baik ayah maupun ibu, juga teman. Masa remaja dan kaum muda merupakan masa pencarian keyakinan (iman) di berbagai aspek kehidupan. Namun, belum ada pengukuran mengenai sejauh mana remaja dan kaum muda menganggap orang tua dan teman sebagai teladan iman dirinya. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengadaptasi skala Perceived Faith Support ? Parents and Friends menjadi Skala Dukungan Iman. Penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik convenience sampling dan melibatkan 1,390 partisipan dari tiga pulau besar di Indonesia. Hasil adaptasi ini terbukti reliabel dengan metode konsistensi internal, khususnya Cronbach?s Alpha dan valid dengan metode faktor analisis. Validasi dengan kriteria usia terbukti pada dukungan iman dari ayah dan ibu, namun tidak dengan teman. Skala Dukungan Iman ini siap digunakan dalam konteks penelitian maupun praktis. Pengembangan dan aplikasi skala ini dibahas lebih lanjut.

Abstract

The Relationship Between Parental Attachment and Faith Support with Intrinsic Religiosity of Emerging Adults from Evangelical Churches in Bandung. This study aims to find answers to research questions, namely whether or not there is a relationship between parental attachment and faith support with intrinsic religiosity of emerging adults from evangelical churches in Bandung. The research method used is quantitative by distributing questionnaires to 226 youth aged 18-29 years and not married in 8 evangelical churches in Bandung. The results showed a significant relationship between youth-mother attachment with intrinsic religiosity of youth. Youth-father attachment was not found to be related to intrinsic religiosity, nor was parental support of faith.
