Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a majority Muslim population. But that does not mean Indonesia is an Islamic state. According to databoks.katadata.co.id, the majority of Indonesia?s population is Muslim, as quoted by Globalreligiousfutures, the total population of Indonesia in 2010 is Muslim (Muslim) as many as 209.12 million people or equivalent to 87.17% of the total population reaching 239, 89 million inhabitants. In 2020, Indonesia?s Muslim population is predicted to increase to 263.92 million. This data shows that a country with a Muslim majority is not necessarily an Islamic state. The relationship between religion and state in Islam has quite several interpretations, although Islam is believed to be able to be a guide in various aspects of life, including in-state and political order. In Islam, this is still a difference today. All this is inseparable from the paradigmatic thinking of experts about the relationship or the relationship between religion and the state. The government system implemented in Indonesia today is democratic. Apart from the democratic system implemented in Indonesia, of course, it must provide the freedom of ulama in preaching without being limited by space and time. At present, some ulama are executed and intimidated so that the lectures to be held must be stopped, postponed, and even cancelled. This is where the role of umara (government) is needed in enforcing applicable laws and also maintaining security and order in society. This paper will discuss several factors that describe and address issues such as the relationship between religion and the state in the Indonesian context. How do ulama and umara in the Indonesian government. According to the author, this problem needs to be discussed because if it is not diving it will be detrimental to the development of Islamic da?wah. It is hoped that this study can explain the relationship between religion and the state in the Indonesian context and the position of ulama and umara in the Indonesian government.

Abstract

Abstract

Democracy is a government of the people, by the people and for the people. The popularity of the democratic system is arguably at its peak. This is proven by the many uses of the democratic system in modern countries in the world. Indonesia as a country that runs a democratic system does not give authority to the authorities to monopolize votes in an election. Because security and freedom for every citizen, free to choose as a representation of the sovereignty of the people. But on the side that democracy often happens is seen as freedom so that there are some elements mixing elements in democracy that actually damage democracy itself. Call it when campaigning for a candidate to hate speech, insult, and berate other candidates so that damage the good name in the eyes of the community. As reported in Detik.com in 2016, the National Police stated that there were 2,018 cases of hate speech that occurred. Then it increased by 44.99% in 2017 to 3,325 cases. Furthermore, in 2018 reported in January 2019 there were 3,884 cases of hate speech that occurred. This proves that in campaigning the candidates cannot be said to campaign peacefully, fairly and competitively. Whereas Allah s.w.t. It has been said in Surah al-Hujurat verse 11. Based on the description above the writer is interested in discussing and studying more about the campaign in the Elections in Indonesia and campaigning peacefully perspective of Surah al-Hujurat verse 11. This is important to discuss given the rampant hate speech cases that conducted by candidates in campaigning. This study aims to contribute knowledge to the candidates so that in campaigning, they do not utter hate speech, insult, and berate other candidates.

Against this background, in this study, the authors sought to examine the Surah al-’Asr, whose contents will be formulated to be guidelines for how smart in optimizing social media. This qualitative research will use the Al-Quran hermeneutic approach that was initiated by Fazlur Rahman, namely the double movement theory. This method emphasizes to find universal values so that the results of interpretations are progressive and can be applied in various contexts of space and time. From this research, it was obtained that Surah al-’Asr, if contextualized, could be obtained from him three moral ideals as proposed by Rahman. If all three are embedded in the consciousness of every human being, then this can be a solution for world peace. In the context of social media efforts that can be done is to optimize it as efficiently and effectively as possible for good and usefulness and to convey all things that are not contrary to the truth and human values.

Abstract

This article discusses the existence of MUI fatwa and its position in Indonesia. So far, people are more likely to use the fatwa law than national law. Many political interests, so that the independence of the fatwa in Indonesia, the MUI fatwa, is doubtful of its integrity. In the context of Islamic law, a fatwa is an essential presence in society, while in national law, a fatwa is only a doctrine whose status is not required to be followed. The deficient legal awareness of the community is a problem in the community because the political influence of the fatwa has a negative impact, so it is feared that it will create a negative thing that lives and develops into a civilization in society. From this writing, it can be concluded that the position of the fatwa is not required to be followed so that public awareness about the law must be socialized by the government so that people can understand. However, if the fatwa is following the constitution, the fatwa can be applied in the law so that the fatwa is not easy to be politicized by any party concerned.

Gender is one of the many discourses that can be considered contemporary that attracts the attention of various groups ranging from adolescents, activists, academics, researchers, and government and even scholars. This discourse intends to close social injustice based on gender differences in order to realize the equality of men and women in their social aspects. Until now, gender discourse can be grouped into at least four parts, namely as a movement, as a philosophical discourse, the development of social issues into religious issues, and as an approach in religious studies. This paper will examine the perspective of gender equality understood by Muslim feminists. In general it can be mentioned that the purpose of feminist struggle is to realize the equality, dignity, and freedom of women in choosing and managing their lives, both inside and outside the household.
