<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Pendahuluan: Bengkel las informal adalah satu dari sekian banyak bengkel yang dimiliki oleh pihak swasta dalam menjalankan usaha las. Salah satu kegiatan utama di bengkel las informal adalah proses pengelasan. Penggunaan APD yang tepat dapat mengurangi tingkat terjadinya kecelakaan secara signifikan. Metode: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan praktik penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) pada pekerja pengelasan Informal. Penelitian ini merupakan explanatory research dengan pendekatan cross sectional menggunakan analisa uji Chi-Square. Populasinya adalah seluruh pekerja las Kecamatan Kota Kendal sebanyak 117 pekerja dengan teknik Purposive Random Sampling sehingga didapatkan sejumlah 50 responden dengan menggunakan 4 buah kuesioner. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengetahuan buruk 54% ( 27 responden), sikap positif dan negatif masing-masing 50% (25 responden), tingkat pendidikan menengah 62% (31 responden), usia ? 27 tahun 60% (30 responden), praktik penggunaan APD tidak lengkap 80% (40 responden). Ada hubungan antara pengetahuan (p valuue = 0,016 PR = 6,667) dan sikap (p valuue = 0,005 PR = 13,500). Tidak ada hubungan antara tingkat pendidikan (p valuue = 0,560 PR = 1,556) dan usia (p valuue = 0,470 PR = 0,580) dengan praktik penggunaan APD pada pekerja pengelasan Informal. Diskusi: Perlu adanya program edukasi bagi pekerja las informal untuk dapat meningkatkan kesadaran operator dalam menggunakan APD saat melakukan proses penngelasan demi mencegah terjadinya kecelakaan dan penyakit akibat kerja. One of the main activities in the informal welding workshop is the welding process. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) can significantly reduce accident rates. Methods: The purpose of this study was to determine factors related to the practice of using Personal Protective Equipment (APD) in Informal welding workers. This research is an explanatory research with cross sectional approach using Chi-Square test analysis. The population is all workers welding District Kendal as many as 117 workers with Purposive Random Sampling technique to obtain a number of 50 respondents using 4 pieces of questionnaires. Results: The results showed poor knowledge of 54% (27 respondents), positive and negative attitudes of 50% (25 respondents), secondary education level 62% (31 respondents), age ? 27 years 60% (30 respondents), practice use of incomplete PPE 80% (40 respondents). There is a relationship between knowledge (p valuue = 0,016 PR = 6,667) and attitude (p valuue = 0,005 PR = 13,500). There is no correlation between education level (p value = 0.560 PR = 1,556) and age (p valuue = 0,470 PR = 0,580) with practice of using APD on Informal welding worker. Discussion: There needs to be an educational program for informal welding workers to increase awareness of operators in using PPE when doing pengngelasan process in order to prevent accidents and occupational diseases.
