Abstract

This research was conducted from 19 January to 15 February 2016, during 28 days in Technology Laboratory of Fisheries Faculty and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. The aim of the research was to investigate the effect of different filters on growth and survival rates of catfishlarvae(Pangasius hypopthalmus) with recirculation system. Fish larvae were rearedin aquarium in density of 1 fish per liter. The method used was experiment with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were P1 or control = without filter; P2 or K,P,I= gravel, sand, palm fiber ; P3 or Z,P,I = zeolit, sand, palm fiber; P4 or S,P,I = spon, sand, palm fiber. The best treatment was achieved by P3or Z,P,I with survival rate 99 %, absolute growth weight 0,90 g, absolute growth length 3,2 mm, daily growth rate 9,2418 %and the best quality parameters of water recorded during in the research period was achieved by Z,P,I :temperature 25-29 oC, pH 7,2, turbidity 1,39 NTU, dissolved oxygen (DO)6,36 mg/L, ammonia (NH3) 0,0554 mg/L, nitrit (NO2-)0,186 mg/L, nitrat (NO3-) 1,32 mg/L.Keywords : Pangasius hypopthalmus, Filter, Recirculation, Zeolit, larvae

Abstract

This study was conducted from August until October 2013 in Reservoir located in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences University of Riau. The purpose of this study was to determine the pearl gourami with increasing doses of Thyroxine hormones (T4) in different fish meal. The method used is an experimental method and CRD with four treatments and three replications. The treatment in this study is P0 (control), P1 (2 mg Thyroxine hormone / kg of fish meal), P2 (4 mg Thyroxine hormone/kg of fish meal), and P3 (6 mg Thyroxine hormone/kg of fish meal). The best treatment in this study was obtained on addition of thyroxine hormone of 6 mg / kg of feed resulted in the growth of the absolute weight of 6.12 g, the absolute growth of 4.11 cm in length, daily growth rate of 0.086 g / day, and the fish production of 0,475 kg.Key word : hormone thyroxine, Pearl Gourami (Trichogaster leeri)

Abstract

The research was conducted to determine the dose of hidrolitic enzyme supplemented in the commercial diet that give the best performance on absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate, survival rate, feed efficiency, and feed convertion ratio of river catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) in recirculation system using leavy vegetable (Ipomea reptan). The dose of enzyme was 5, 7.5, and 10 g/kg of commercial feed and no enzyme supplementation as control. Each treatment was design in triplicates. Catfish at average 5-6 cm in length were reared in a fiber tank in a density 20 fish/tank for 30 days. The best performance growth was obtained from enzyme 10 g/kg feed. The absolute weight who 3.88 g, absolute length 3.65 cm, specific growth rate 3,99%, survival rate 95 %, feed efficacy 83.25%, and feed convertion ratio 1.21. Hidrolitic enzyme had no effect on the survival rate. The water quality parameters recorded during in the research period ammonia (NH3) 0.0009-0.0022 mg/L, TAN 0.44-0.66 mg/L, temperature 26,1-31 0C, pH 5,4-6,50, dissolved oxygen (DO) 3,60-5,80 mg/L. The best growth of leavy vegetable (Ipomea reptan) obtained from enzyme 0 g/kg feed (P0) which is high 42,87 and 42,60 cm and weight 7,13 and 5,91 g.Key words: river catfish ,enzyme, growth, survival rate and recirculation.

Abstract

This research was conducted from May to June 2017 for 45 days in HatcheryTIU (Technical Implementation Unit) of Marine and Fisheries Faculty, University ofRiau. The aims of this study were to determine the growth and survival rate of Siamesecatfish which were reared on different shape of the tanks. The tanks were made oftarpaulin plastic material with 30 L of water volume capacity. Stocking density ofexperimental fishes were 30 fishes/tank. The method of the study was an experimentalmethod with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were: P1 = circle shape, P2 =Square-shape, P3 = Octagonal shape, P4 = Triangular shape, and P5 = Rectangularshaped. The result of this study can be concluded that different shape of tanks have nosignificant effect on growth and survival rate performance of the Siamese catfish fries. The growth performance of round, square, octagonal, triangle and rectangular shape oftanks respectively has given an absolute weight growth of 5.93 g; 6.00 g; 6.18 g; 5.72 gand 5.77 g, then an absolute length growth were 4.88 cm; 4.93 cm; 4.91 cm; 4.76 cm and4.85 cm, a daily growth rate 4.24%, 4.32%, 4.27%, 4.21% and 4.24, the food efficiency92.67%, 92.63% , 94.31%, 92.42% and 91.23% and the survival rate 100%, 97.8%,100%, 98.9% and 100% respectively. The result of water quality measurement which isstill in the optimal range for rearing the Siamese catfish where the temperature was 28-30° C, 5-6 of pH, 5-6 mg/L of DO, 0,03-0,05 mg / L of Ammonia, 0,17-0,20 mg / L ofNitrite, and Nitrate was 0.80-0.98 mg / L.Keywords : Pangasius hypopthalmus, recirculation system, different shape of tanksurvival rate
