Abstract

The main purpose of this  study were to find out the influence of discipline, motivation and competence to ward?s teacher?s action  in Nusa Dua vocational School. There were three free variables in this study. They were discipline (X1), motivation (X2) and competence (X3). More over, there was  bound  variable called teacher?s action (Y). The score of t score  for disciplene variable in this study was 6.515 with its significanly level was 0.000  more than t table which was  2.042 it showed  that  there was  a H0refusal and Ha acceptance which  means there was a significanly influence of motivation variable to teacher?s action. The score of t score for teacher?s competence(X3) in this study was 7.322 with its significanly level was 0.000 which was more than t table 2.042. it showed that there was a H0 refusal and a Ha acceptance which means there was a significant influence of teacher?s competence variable to ward teacher?s action variable. The calculation of double linier regression pooduced Fscore which was 143.104 and the F table was 3.32. It was a proof that Fscore was more than F table.It showed HO was rejected and Ha was aceptea in significancy level of 0.000 it means there was a significant influence between free variables and bound variable simultanionsly. The competence variable influenced dominantly to wards teachers action in Nusa Dua Toya Anyar Vocational school.The beta score of competence variable was 0.750 which was the most beta score.

Abstract

Teaching English for specific purposes (ESP), which is in contrast with English for Academic purposes (EAP), has gained specially great attention since 1960’s. One of the examples of ESP is English for guiding. The main purpose of implementing English for guiding in some schools or collages is to give the students ability to communicate mainly orally so as to be able to fulfil the student’s need for his or her future carreer or job in tourism. In reality very often cultural misunderstandings which may pruduce fatal consequencies emerge among those who are involved in tourism industry. Due to this circumstance, inserting sosio-cultural aspects in the teacher’s languge teaching interaction is indeed beneficial. In this case, the role of the teacher to include edequate cultural aspects in language teaching, beside giving formal gramatical language forms, of course is highly worth considering. Teaching English for tourism industry is not regarded appropriate yet if sosio-cultural aspects are not adequately included. In other words, beside teaching the language forms, English teacher should incorporate sosio-cultural aspects into his interaction. Futhermore, materials for English for guiding is carefully selected which are based on carefull analysis of the course objectives. The implication of analysing teaching materilas intended for tour guide is expected that the outcomes of the institution or graduates are truly matched with the available jobs in job markets

Abstract

Kurangnya sarana penunjang kegiatan pembelajaran seperti alat peraga yang belum memadai mengakibatkan pembelajaran Matematika tidak dapat menarik perhatian siswa. Hal ini akan berakibat pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan metode diskusi kelompok dalam mata pelajaran matematika pada siswa kelas VI SD. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dirancang dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VI SD sebanyak 24 orang Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode tes. Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan metode analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal, nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 57,9 dan ketuntasan klasikal 58,3%. Hasil penelitian siklus I menunjukkan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 59,5 dan ketuntasan klasikal 70,8%, artinya terdapat peningkatkan sebesar 1,6 poin. Pada Siklus II, rata-rata hasil belajar siswa sebesar 72,1. Hal ini menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan dari siklus sebelumnya sebesar 14,2 poin dengan ketuntasan belajar mencapai 100%. Maka, pembelajaran dengan Metode Diskusi Kelompok Dapat Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika siswa kelas VI SD. Implikasi penelitian ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran.
