Abstract

Ammonia Converter adalah reaktor berkatalis yang berfungsi sebagai tempat reaksi pembentukan NH3 (amoniak) dari H2 (hidrogen) dan N2 (nitrogen). Produktifitas dan efisiensi di pabrik amoniak ditentukan dari hasil ammonia converter ini. Gas hidrogen dan nitrogen didapatkan dari keluaran metanator, yang diharapkan memiliki rasio H2:N2 sebesar 3:1. Kedua gas ini direaksikan dalam ammonia converter pada suhu dan tekanan yang tinggi. Dari permasalahan yang didapat bahwa terjadi penurunan produksi NH3 pada ammonia converter selama bulan februari. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi performa amoniak konverter dan apa saja yang mempengaruhi performa tersebut. Dari hasil evaluasi didapatlah bahwa kondisi operasi pada ammonia converter ini juga akan mempengaruhi dari banyaknya amoniak yang akan dihasilkan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil konversi hidrogen dan nitrogen, sekitar 15%. Dari hasil evaluasi, didapatkan bahwa produksi NH3 menurun dari data desainnya, yaitu sebesar 3498,1264 kmol/h pada bulan Februari 2018.

Abstract

Efektivitas komunikasi antarbudaya dalam menyelesaikan konflik di dalam rumah tangga di Kantor Urusan Agama (KUA) Lhoksukon. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran komunikasi antarbudaya masyarakat dalam menyelesaikan konflik tersebut di KUA Lhoksukon Aceh Utara dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi peran komunikasi budaya masyarakat dalam menyelesaikan konflik rumah tangga di KUA Lhoksukon. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan termasuk deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa konflik dimotivasi oleh perbedaan karakteristik yang dibawa oleh individu dalam suatu budaya dan kebiasaan yang tidak dipahami oleh pasangan karena kebiasaan satu keluarga dengan keluarga lain selalu berbeda sehingga sikap pasangan akan menyebabkan kesalahpahaman, disebabkan karena perbedaan budaya. Budaya dan norma yang berbeda perlu diperhatikan dan dihargai dengan menghargai norma budaya yang berbeda dapat menghindari kesalahpahaman di antara mayarakat yang ada di wilayah KUA Lhoksukon. Adat Istiadat adalah salah satu penyebab perbedaan budaya. Mencegah konflik perbedaan adat istiadat diharapkan kepada masyarakat untuk saling menghormati. Perbedaan kebiasaan, budaya, adat istiadat terlihat pada kegiatan pesta, seperti pernikahan, khitanan, ucapan syukur, tahlilan acara atau samadiah dan lain-lain. Faktor kebiasaan adalah faktor yang dipengaruhi oleh apakah orang tersebut melakukan suatu kebiasaan atau tidak. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi komunikasi antarbudaya masyarakat dalam menyelesaikan konflik dengan saling menghormati perbedaan, kelompok, antar individu, budaya, minat, sosial, fungsi hukum dan kesadaran publik.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of fermented Moringa aloifera Lamk Leaf Flour (FMLF) on the amount of abdominal fat content in broiler chickens (Gallus sp). Twenty eight broiler chickens were randomly design into 4 treatment groups with 7 replications each. The (P0) as control group was given 100% commercial ransom, (P1) was given 95% commercial ransom and 5% FMLF, (P2) was given 92.5% and 7.5% FMLF, and (P3) was given 90% commercial ransom and 10% FMLF. The ransom was given for 23 days. The results showed that the abdominal fat contant of broiler chicken in P1 was significantly higher (P0,05) than that of P0, P2 and P3 There was no decrease in fat abdominal contant of broiler chicken in P1, P2 and P3 compared to that in P0 control. In conclusion, subtitusion of commercial ransom with FMLF up to 10% did not result in a decrease of abdominal fat content of broiler chickens.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Indigofera sp. leaf to increase protein content of rabbit meat (Origtolagus sp). This study used a complete randomized design, consisted of 3 treatments and 3 replications. The samples were nine local male rabbits aged two months. P0 was control group which was given commercial feed, P1 was given 80% commercial feed and 20% Indigofera sp. pellet leaf, and P2 was given 70% commercial feed and 30%  Indigofera sp. pellet leaf. The feeding and drinking was conducted at 07:00 to 08:00 am and at 04:00 to 05:00 pm ad libitum. Protein content was measured using Kjeldahl method after eight weeks of treatments. The data was analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with SPSS v16.0 for Windows. The results showed that mean value (±SD) of meat protein for P0, P1 and P2 were 18.79+0.81%, 19.40+0.33% and 20.88+0.74%, respectively. We can conclude that the leaves of Indigofera sp. was highly significant (P0,01) in increasing protein level of rabbit meat at a concentration of 30%.

Abstract

This research was done to determine the levels of hemoglobin (Hb) and hematocrit (Ht) of the sumatran elephants captivated at the Elephant Conservation Center (ECC) of Saree, Aceh Besar. In this study blood samples were drawn from 16 sumatran elephants at the ECC using EDTA as an anticoagulant. The levels of Hb and Ht were determined using Sahli and micro-hematocrit methods, respectively. Data was analyzed using t-test. The results showed that Hb concentrations in male and female sumatran elephans were 11.74±0.58 g/dL and 11.84±0.55 g/dL, respectively. Hb levels in sumatran elephants aged 10-30 and 30 years old were 11.87±0.56 g/dL and 11.79±0.50 g/dL, respectively. There was no significant different of Hb levels (P0.05) according to sex and age. Ht values in male sumatran elephants were 38.140.79% and significantly lower (P0.05) than that in female sumatran elephants, 42.001.37%. Similar to that of Hb, Ht values in sumatran elephants aged 10-30 and 30 years old, 40.45±1.21% and 40.22±1.48%, respectively, were not significantly different (P0.05). In conclusion, in the sumatran elephants Hb values were not influenced by sex and age, but Ht values were influenced by sex.

Abstract

This study was done to determine blood chemistry of local swamp buffaloes in Aceh. Blood samples were collected from 15 local buffaloes slaughtered at the abattoir of Banda Aceh and 16 local buffaloes slaughtered at the abattoir of Aceh Besar using EDTA as an anticoagulant. Measurement of uric acid, cholesterol and glucose levels was done using Easy Touch rapid test whereas hemoglobin concentration was determined using Sahli method. Data obtained was analyzed by t-test using GraphPad Prims 6 software. The results showed that concentration of uric acid, cholesterol, glucose and hemoglobin in the blood of local swamp buffaloes were 13.80±3.62 mg/dl, 139.50±39.71 mg/dl, 81.81±21.34 mg/dl, and 10.86±2.78 g/dl, respectively. In the male local buffaloes, the level of uric acid, cholesterol, glucose and Hb were 12.23±3.94 mg/dl, 126.10±33.99 mg/dl, 73.58±22.54 mg/dl, and Hb 11.20±3.86 g/dl, respectively. For female local buffaloes, uric acid level was 14.59±3.29 mg/dl, cholesterol was 147.70±41.61 mg/dl, glucose was 87.00±19.35 mg/dl, and Hb was 10.64±1.91 g/dl. Statistical analysis indicated that there was no difference in the chemistry profiles in the blood of local swamp buffaloes of Aceh according to sex.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the cellulase activity in broilers digestive tract after the treatment of soya wastes and palm kernel fermented by A.niger (AKBIS Prob) in the ration. This study used a complete randomized factorial design, which consists of two factors, namely the AKBIS Prob composition factor and the duration of AKBIS Prob. Twenty four broilers were divided into four groups by randomized and three replications of each. The feed supplement combinations were P0 (commercial), P1 (commercial and AKBIS Prob 2%), P2 (commercial and AKBIS Prob 4%), and P3 (commercial and AKBIS Prob 6%). The intestine preparation was taken at the 22 and 36 days to extraction and detection the cellulase activity concentration. Data were analyzed using variance analysis of factorial patterns. AKBIS Prob 2,4 and 6% was no effect (P 0.05) to the cellulase activity in the small and large intestine, while the treatment duration was significant (P0,05) in the small intestine but neither in the large intestine (P0,05) to the cellulase activity. The addition of AKBIS Prob 2.4 and 6% had no effect (P 0.05) on the concentration of cellulase activity in the small intestine and large intestine, while the duration the treatment was very significant (P 0.05) in the small intestine and neither in the large intestine (P 0.05) on the concentration of cellulase activity. The AKBIS administration in the ration for 22 days can increase the activity and concentration of cellulase activity in the small intestine of the digestive tract of broiler chickens.

Abstract

The aims of this research was to determine the density level of lumbal vertebrae on ovariectomized rats administered with Cissus qudrangula Salisb stem extract with various doses. In this research twelve female rats were randomizedly divided into 4 groups with 3 treatment repetition. K1-groups were ovariectomized rats without Cissus quadrangula Salisb trunct extract administration; K2, K3, and K4, were ovariectomized and given with Cissus quadrangula Salisb extract  with 500 mg/kg/Bw, 700 mg/kg/Bw, and 900 mg/kg/Bw as doses perday for 30 days. On day-31, rats were euthanized using chloroform and the os lumbal-5 were collected, followed with histological preparations. Research parameters were the density of active osteoblasts, passive osteoblasts, and osteoclasts. The results showed that the damage in K1 was clearly marked with the high number of osteoclasts, K2 and K3 indicate lower osteoclasts levels than K1 and had repaired bone structure characterized with active cuboidal shaped  osteoblast  activity and passive flat shaped osteoblasts and K4 showed increasing  level of active osteoblasts. The administration of Cissus quadrangula Salisb stem extract at 900 mg/kg/bw for 30 days showed bone repair due to ovariectomy indicated with high level of active osteoblasts.

Abstract

This study was done to investigate lipid profile in the blood of Sumatran elephants at the ECC of Saree. In this stud blood samples were drawn from the auricular vein of 8 sumatran elephants at the ECC. Reasurement of total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL), high density lipoprotein (HDL), and triglicerida (TG) was carried spectrophotometrically by the commercial service of research laboratory in Banda Aceh. The results showed that the average concentrations of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and TG in the blood of Sumatran elephants were 155,86±54,39 mg/dL, 40,13±3,40 mg/dL, 101,13±46,16 mg/dL, dan 84,89±32,86 mg/dL. It can be concluded that the average concentrations of the lipid profile in the blood of the sumatran elephants at the ECC in Aceh were higher than that of reported in other subspecies of Asian elephant

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the physical property changes of cervical mucus in repeated breeder Aceh cows. Six cows consisting three normal (K1) and three repeat breeders (RB) (K2) of adult Aceh cows were used. The characteristics of K1 group were at > 2 months post parturition, successful pregnancy following once insemination, and twice regular estrus cycle twice. The K2 were cows with normal estrus but failed to be pregnant after three times artificial inseminations. Cervical mucus samples (50 ml each) were collected by aspiration using a sterile catheter and disposable syringe. The comparisons of the physical properties of cervical mucus between fertile and repeat breeder cattle were as follows.. Cervical mucus unavailability/in small quantity was 0.00 vs. 66.67%, cloudy color was 0.00 vs. 66.67%, thick consistency was 0.00 vs. 100%, fern pattern was 0.00 vs 66.67%, spinnbarkeit was 5.16±1.60 vs. 2.83±2.02 cm and pH values was 7.33±0.57 vs 9.33±1.52. in conclusion, the physical properties of cervical mucus in repeat breeder Aceh were less in quantities, more cloudy, higher in viscosity, and higher pH as compared to normal fertile cows. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perubahan sifat fisik mukus serviks sapi aceh yang mengalami kawin berulang (repeat breeding, RB). Dalam penelitian ini digunakan enam ekor sapi aceh betina yang terdiri dari tiga ekor sapi normal (K1) dan tiga ekor sapi yang mengalami RB (K2). Sapi K1 merupakan sapi >2 bulan pascapartus yang mempunyai riwayat berhasil bunting dengan sekali inseminasi dan mempunyai dua kali siklus reguler, sedangkan K2 terdiri atas sapi yang didiagnosis mengalami RB, yaitu sapi yang gagal bunting setelah lebih dari tiga kali inseminasi namun memiliki siklus estrus normal. Sampel mukus serviks dikoleksi dengan metode aspirasi menggunakan kateter steril dan disposible syringe 50 mL. Kateter dimasukan melalui vagina yang yang diiringi dengan palpasi rektal untuk mengarahkan kateter masuk ke serviks uterus. Hasil pemeriksaan sifat fisik mukus serviks pada sapi fertil vs sapi RB menunjukkan bahwa kuantitas mukus tidak ada/sedikit (0,00 vs 66,67%), warna keruh (0,00 vs 66,67%), konsistensi kental (0,00 vs 100%), pola pakis (0,00 vs 66,67%), spinnbarkeit (5,16±1,60 vs 2,83±2,02 cm) dan nilai pH (7,33±0,57 vs 9,33±1,52). Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sapi aceh yang mengalami RB memiliki kuantitas mukus lebih sedikit, warna lebih keruh, konsistensi kental, dan pH yang lebih tinggi dibanding sapi aceh yang fertil.
