Abstract

This research was to determine the current condition of the water physical chemical quality parameters at culture areas in Lake Tondano. The study  conducted at Lake Tondano Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province.  Determination of the water physical and chemical qualitis was carried through field observation and laboratorium analysis at the Industrial Research and Standardization in Manado. Measurement and retrieval of physical and chemical parameter of water quality was done at culture site with high density, medium and small especially at Eris Village, Leleko Village and Toulour Village. Water temperature was 26oC - 29oC, brightness of 1.34-2.8 cm, depth of 4.23-11.8 m, acidity of 6.7-7.8 mg/L, dissolved oxygen, 2.75–6.31 mg/L, nitrate 0.00-1.58 mg/L, nitrite 0.00–0.027 mg /L, ammonia 0.00–0.292 mg/L and phosphate 0.02–0.721 mg/L.  The results showed that water quality of Lake Tondano still match the quality standard of water quality for fish cultivation except ammonia.Keywords: water quality, net cages, Lake Tondano

Abstract

The Aim of this study was to determine the effect of additional activated carbon in fish feed with different composition for the growth performance of Nile (Oreochromis niloticus), include feed efficiency (FE), specific growth rate (SGR) and feed conversion ration (FCR). This research was carried out indoor Laboratory. The test container used was an aquarium measuring 60 x 40 x 40 cm placed in a laboratory. The experimental research design method used was a completely randomized design (ANOVA) with 5 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatments used were A: Control, B: 1%, C: 2%, D: 3%, E: 4%. The results of statistical analysis on the growth variables showed the same effect on the growth of tilapia. The best weigth gain on growth performance occurred in treatment D (4.49), fish feeding with pellet charcoal composition of 3%, as well as relative growth (101.4), and daily growth (2.32%). The results of the statistical analysis of the effect of treatment on the value of efficiency provide a very real effect. The highest value of feed conversion occurred in treatment C (1.05), namely the feeding of pellets with charcoal composition of 2%, and the lowest treatment B (1.86). This study can be concluded that the administration of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% charcoal and without charcoal is the same effect in triggering the growth of 3-5 cm tilapia.

Abstract

The research was conducted to determine the condition of physicochemical quality of waters and its effect on the sustainability of aquaculture in Bulilin Lake. The study was conducted at Lake Bulilin, Southeast Minahasa Regency in September 2016 (dry season) until January 2017 (rainy season). Measurement of physicochemical quality of waters was conducted in situ at 9 stations: station 1, 2, 3 (not aquaculture area); station 4, 5, 6 (aquaculture area) and station 7, 8, 9 (floating restaurant area).  Laboratory analysis of water samples from three stations, namely station A (not aquaculture area), station B (aquaculture area) and C (floating restaurant area), was done at  the Board of Research and Industrial Standardization Manado. Primary data were collected by interview to aquaculturist and field observation on aquaculture effort in Bulilin Lake.   The results of the study showed that water temperature range from 27 - 32oC, total dissolved solid 0.239 – 0.305 g/l, brightness 40 – 72.5 cm, pH 6.44 - 9, dissolved oxygen 3 – 5.18 mg/l, Nitrate 1.93 - 5.67 mg/l, nitrite 0 mg/l, ammonia 0 - 0.22 mg/l and phosphate 0 - 0.60 mg/l.  These result indicated that water quality condition is still in accordance with the quality standard for fish culture except ammonia.  High ammonia level caused overgrown of Eichhornia crassipes (eceng gondok). The sustainability of fish culture at present is relative fluent and beneficial even though the waters have been overgrown with weed water hyacinth.  However for the sustainability of the aquaculture effort in Bulilin Lake it is necessary to manage the waste to Bulilin Lake.Keywords : Lake Bulilin, physicochemical quality of waters , fish culture

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of probiotic on growth and survival of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) against Streptococcus agalactiae infection. The test materials used were commercial probiotic bacteria and Streptococcus agalactiae. The probiotic bacteria were administered by mixing into the feed with a dose of 0 mL (without probiotics), 10 mL / kg of feed, 15 mL / kg of feed and 20 mL / kg of feed.  Feed was given 3 times a day at 08.00, 12.00 and 16.00 for 21 days. After that, the challenge test was done with Streptococcus  agalactiae bacteria by cohabitation. Bacteria with a density of 107 cells / mL were mixed into the water and allowed for 2 hours. The result showed that B treatment (10 mL / kg of feed) gave the best result with 93,33 percent of  survival rate. Statistical analysis showed that the survival of fish in treatments B, C and D was significantly different from treatment A (P <0.1). However, there was no significant difference between treatments B, C, and D. It was also found that the addition of probiotic in feed did not affect the growth of Nile tilapia (Orechromis niloticus). Keywords : Probiotic bacteria,  nile tilapia,  Streptococcus  agalactiae, growth,  infection

Abstract

AbstractMimika Regency has a very large fishery potential and this potential has been underutilized optimally and sustainably. The socio-economic condition of fishermen is a problem faced by the fishing community which has become a major factor in determining the level of welfare, especially in Mimika Timur Village, Pomako District, Mimika Regency. This study aims to determine the socio-economic condition of traditional fishermen in the Imii fishing gear business in East Mimika Village, Pomako District, Mimika Regency, Papua Province. The population in this study were fishermen who used traditional fishing gear Imii nets. Data collection was carried out using the census method on 4 business owners of Imii fishing gear. The data collected consists of primary data and secondary data. Primary data collection was carried out through field surveys and direct interviews guided by questionnaires. Apart from going through interviews, also by asking and answering questions to respondents using a recording device and using documentation. Secondary data is generally in the form of evidence, notes or reports obtained from village data related to this research. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive quantitative analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis. The result of the research shows that social aspects such as the age of the fisherman in this net are in the productive age range. The average education of fishermen is primary school and the dependents of the families vary. Each fisherman family is 3-7 people. For the economic aspect, fishermen have an average income of iDr 650,000. The average expenditure is IDR 200,000 and you get a profit of IDR 450,000. Apart from the relatively low income from fishing, to meet the daily needs of fishing families in East Mim ika Village, it is obtained from the assistance provided by both the government and NGOs that exist on an ongoing basis. Assistance in the form of fishing gear packages consisting of motorboats, nets, coolboxes and fuel. Apart from that, cash assistance, foodstuffs, education fees and other village facilities support support the livelihoods of the village community.KeyWords: Fishing community, income, poverty, welfare, productivity. AbstrakKabupaten Mimika mempunyai potensi Perikanan yang sangat besar dan potensi tersebut selama ini masih kurang dimanfaatkan secara maksimal dan berkelanjutan. Kondisi sosial ekonomi nelayan merupakan masalah yang dihadapi masyarakat nelayan yang sudah menjadi faktor utama yang menentukan tingkat kesejahteraan khususnya di Desa Mimika Timur Kecamatan Pomako Kabupaten Mimika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keadaan sosial ekonomi nelayan tradisional usaha alat tangkap jaring Imii di Desa Mimika Timur, Kecamatan Pomako, Kabupaten Mimika, Provinsi Papua. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah nelayan yang menggunakan alat tangkap tradisional jaring Imii. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan menggunakan metode sensus atas 4 orang pemilik usaha alat tangkap Imii. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri atas data primer dan data sekunder. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan melalui survei lapangan dan wawancara langsung yang dipandu dengan kuisioner. Selain melalui wawancara juga dengan cara tanya jawab kepada responden dengan menggunakan alat perekam, serta menggunakan alat dokumentasi. Data sekunder umumnya berupa bukti, catatan atau laporan yang di dapatkan dari data desa yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan aspek sosial seperti umur nelayan jaring imii berada pada kisaran umur produktif. Pendidikan nelayan rata-rata sekolah dasar dan tanggungan keluarga bervariasi setiap keluarga nelayannya adalah 3 -7 orang. Untuk aspek ekonomi nelayan memiliki pendapatan rata- rata sebesar Rp 650.000. Pengeluaran rata-rata Rp 200.000 dan diperoleh keuntungan sebesar Rp 450.000. Selain dari penghasilan melaut yang relative rendah, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan harian keluarga nelayan jaring imii di desa Mimika Timur, didapatkan dari bantuan yang diberikan baik oleh pemerintah maupun LSM yang ada secara kontinu. Bantuan berupa paket alat tangkap yang terdiri dari perahu motor, jaring, coolbox dan bahan bakar. Selain itu juga bantuan uang tunai, bahan makanan, biaya pendidikan dan bantuan fasilitas desa lainnya untuk menopang kehidupan masyarakat desa ini.Kata Kunci: Masyarakat nelayan, Pendapatan, Kemiskinan, Kesejahteraan, Produktivitas

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine whether the fishing effort of skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis L) using huhate fishing gear in Guraping Village, North Oba District, Tidore Islands City is feasible or not. The population in this study were all fishermen who own Cakalang fishing business with Huhate fishing gear in Guraping Village, North Oba District, Tidore Islands City, totaling 4 people. Collecting data using the census method, ie all populations are taken as respondents. Data were collected through observation and interviews guided by a questionnaire. Based on the analysis conducted, the result is that the net profit per year is Rp. 631.600.000,-: Operating profit of Rp. 834,475,000, -; the value of the profit rate is positive, namely 41.53%; Its profitability is 1.92%; BCR value > 1 which is 1.42%; the sales result is Rp. 2,152,500,000, - and the catch is 143,500 Kg above the sales BEP (BEPSales Rp. 520,192,308) and the unit BEP (BEPunit 34,679.48 kg) and the Payback Period is 2 years 4 months 2 days. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa keuntungan bersih per tahun adalah sebesar Rp. 631.600.000, -: Operating profit sebesar Rp. 834.475.000,-; nilai profit ratenya positif yaitu 41,53%; Rentabilitasnya yaitu 1,92%; nilai BCR >1 yaitu 1,42%; hasil penjualan Rp.2.152.500.000,-dan hasil tangkapan sebesar 143.500 Kg diatas BEP penjualan (BEP Penjualan Rp. 520.192.308) maupun BEP satuan (BEP Satuan 34.679,48 kg) dan Payback Periodnya 2 tahun 4 bulan 2 hari. Berdasarkan seluruh hasil analisis finansial yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa usaha penangkapan ikan cakalang dengan alat tangkap huhate di Desa Guraping ini layak dijalankan. Kata Kunci: Analisis finansial; Huhate; Guraping

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of different doses of EM-4 in feed on the growth and survival of tilapia. This research was conducted at the Center for Freshwater Aquaculture (BPBAT) Tatelu. The study was carried out from June to August 2021. The experimental design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and each treatment had 3 replications. The treatment used was Probiotic EM-4 with different doses consisting of: A: 0 ml/kg feed, B: 15 ml/kg feed, C: 20 ml/kg feed, D: 30 ml/kg feed. The results of the study used the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) using the SPSS application (22). Giving different doses of EM-4 in the feed gave a significantly different effect on the absolute weight growth of tilapia, but the results also showed that the administration of different doses of EM-4 in solid had no effect on absolute length growth, daily length growth rate, FCR and tilapia survival. The treatment that had an effect on the absolute weight growth of tilapia was found in the treatment with a dose of EM-4 15 mL/kg of feed with an absolute weight growth of 23.89 g.
