Abstract

Personal variables are often assumed to affect trust. In Indonesia, there are three personal variables that affect trust: benevolence, competence, and integrity. This study aims to examine the influence of these three variables on friendship relationships. The respondents of this study consists of 220 students of Universitas Gadjah Mada (44.1% male and 55.9% female). Data were collected using the Trust Scale (α = .74), the Benevolence Scale (α = .85), the Competence Scale (α = .80), and the Integrity Scale (α = .78). Regression analysis revealed that competence has no significant influence towards trust, and the role of benevolence is greater than integrity. Based on these findings we constructed regression models with benevolence as the main variable and integrity as an additional variable. As a single factor, the contribution of benevolence is 21.4%. The addition of integrity in the regression model finds that the contribution of both variables together is 29.2%.

Abstract

Previous research conducted by the same authors found that personal attributes (benevolence, integrity, competence) and the relational attributes (closeness, support, and reciprocity) influence trust and trustworthiness. This paper aimed to test the proposed trust model on a new dataset while also testing for gender and regional differences. This research involved a collaboration between Universitas Gadjah Mada as a representative from Yogyakarta and Universitas Negeri Makassar as a representative from Makassar. There were 420 students that participated in this study; 157 (37.4%) men and 263 (62.6%) women. Regression analyses indicated that 42% of trust was formed by personal and relational attributes. Contrary to expectations, there were no differences in trust (p> 0.05) between females and males. However, there was a significant difference in trustworthiness (p0.05). This study provides an understanding on the importance of trust and trustworthiness in efforts to maintain pluralism, as a form of citizenship identity.

Abstract

Education in the digital era prioritizes students' ability to capture information. The purpose of this research is to produce a validated product in the form of Articulate Storyline interactive learning media and to increase effectiveness in learning. The research development procedure was carried out using the ADDIE model development. The results of the validation of content experts in the field of study reached a percentage of 88% with very good qualifications, expert validation of learning media reached a percentage of 87% with very good qualifications, and language validation reached 88% with very good qualifications. In the small group trial, there was an increase in the average pre-test score from 50.00 to 81.11 and the field trial an increase in the average pre-test score from 45.81 to 81.44. The effectiveness measured by the relative effectiveness formula reached 62.2% with high effectiveness.

Abstract

Prior qualitative research by Faturochman and Minza (2014) on trust in Indonesia found that trust is influenced by relational attributes, including closeness, support, and reciprocity. This study aims to examine whether the findings of the previous research can be applied in specific forms of relationships, e.g. friendship. The survey method is used in this study, involving 97 males and 123 (N = 220) females who completed a scale related to the variables studied. We found that support and reciprocity significantly predicted the score of trust. However, closeness did not. It was also found that the effect of support is higher than reciprocity. Based on the research, we created the regression model with the contribution of support to the trust 37.8%, then reciprocity addition which was analyzed together with support gave a total contribution to the trust 41.5%. The implication of this study is further discussed.

Abstract

Teenagers are known as trendsetters who can quickly follow the latest trends and become a very easily influenced group. Teenagers often purchase attractive products impulsively and only follow their peers in their group and environment. Impulsive buying is the emergence of a sudden urge and a solid feeling to buy without any pre-planned purchases. This study aims to determine the relationship between conformity and impulsive buying among adolescents in Makassar City. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a relationship between unity and impulsive buying among adolescents in Makassar City. The results showed a significance value of 0.049 and a correlation coefficient of 0.198, which means there is a weak and positive relationship between conformity and impulsive buying among adolescents in Makassar City. This research was conducted on 100 young girls and boys aged 13-18 with a peer group and teenagers living in Makassar City.

Abstract

Kejahatan pencurian anak makin marak terjadi, tidak hanya dalam skala nasional tetapi juga dalam skala lokal dengan berbagai motif, dimulai dari motif human trafficking atau perdagangan manusia, hingga untuk tujuan penjualan organ dalam. Fenomena terkini penculikan anak terjadi di Makassar dimana korban yang menjadi korban penculikan dibunuh dengan tujuan penjualan organ dalam. Disisi lain, orangtua dan guru memiliki keterbatasan dalam melakukan pengawasan baik ketika anak berada dalam lingkungan rumah maupun di lingkungan sekolah, sehingga pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu anak untuk menanamkan rasa mawas diri atau self-awareness sejak dini kepada anak dengan metode bercerita menggunakan media hand puppet. Metode ini dipilih dikarenakan karakteristik anak TK yang masih tergolong dalam anak usia dini maka diperlukan media pembelajaran yang mampu menarik perhatian dan fokus anak serta media ini mampu menyederhanakan pesan-pesan pembelajaran dengan cara yang mudah dimengerti dan tidak membosankan. Dari 27 partisipan di Raudhatul Athfal Al-Fathanah Makassar diperoleh hasil evalusi dengan teknik observasi memperlihatkan setiap anak-anak di Raudhatul Athfal Al-Fathanah Makassar berpartisipasi aktif ketika memberikan feedback terkait peran tokoh, nilai dan moral di dalam cerita, serta kepekaannya terhadap orang yang tidak dikenal di lingkungan rumah dan sekolah di dalam alur cerita puppet show yang diberikan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut sehingga pengenalan self-awareness melalui puppet show untuk mengenalkan anak mengenai pentingnya keamaan diri terkait segala kemungkinan situasi yang tidak kondusif di lingkungan sekolah seperti tindakan penculikan anak menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan.

Abstract

Secara statistik tindak penculikan terhadap anak terus meningkat bahkan dengan berbagai motif. Awal tahun 2023 fenomena terkait penculikan anak terjadi di Makassar dimana korban yang merupakan siswa sekolah dasar diculik lalu dibunuh untuk tujuan perdagangan organ. Di sisi lain, orangtua dan guru menghadapi keterbatasan dalam melakukan pengawasan kepada anak baik di lingkungan rumah maupun di lingkungan sekolah, sehingga pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu anak-anak menumbuhkan rasa mawas diri atau self-awareness sejak dini melalui metode bercerita menggunakan media hand puppet sebagai langkah preventif dalam mencegah tindak penculikan pada anak. Metode ini dipilih karena sesuai dengan usia anak yang memerlukan media pembelajaran yang dapat menarik perhatian mereka, serta menyampaikan pesan-pesan pembelajaran dengan cara yang mudah dipahami dan tidak membosankan. Dengan melibatkan 87 partisipan yang merupakan siswa-siswi di Taman Kanak-kanan Frater Bakti Luhur Makassar sehingga ditemukan hasil evaluasi yang menunjukkan bahwa setiap anak berperan aktif berpartisipasi dalam memberikan umpan balik (feedback) terkait perananan tokoh serta kepekaan mereka terhadap orang asing di lingkungan rumah maupun sekolah dalam pementasan puppet show yang dilaksanakan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, menumbuhkan  self-awareness melalui media puppet show untuk mengenalkan pentingnya keamanan diri dan menghadapi situasi yang tidak kondusif, seperti penculikan anak di lingkungan sekolah, memberikan hasil yang efektif.
