Abstract

ABSTRACTThe study aims to analyze the adequacy of water in the area Tonsewer for the growth of tomato plants and corn. This research conducted in Tonsewer village, West Tompaso. Materials and equipment use are drill, ring sampels, hoes, sholves, machetes, laboratory equipment, sack,plastic, rubber, 10 years of climate data (monthly rainfall, humidity, watering time,wind speed, maximum and minimum temperatures), soil data, and plants data.The result using the model of CropWat8 that condition the availability of water for crops as tomatoes and corn sufficient available. Planting June 1st decreased soil moisture ahead of the third phase of growth of tomato plants.Tomato plants need sufficient water in the initiation phase/transplanting and in the initial phase until the final disposal phase of fruitformation. Planting time June 1st and July 1st the reduction soil moisture at planting time these two accurred in the third growth phase reach a position under conditions readily available in the fourth growth phase.Keywords : water availability, evapotranspiration, CropWat8 model

Abstract

ABSTRACT            This research entitled "Potential of Abaka Banana Plant Land (Musa Textilis Nee) at PT. Viola Fiber International, Desa Silian, Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara "aims to find out the suitability class of Abaka banana plantations and examine the potential for potential and actual land suitability of Abaka banana plants. This research was conducted in October - November 2017, in the Plantation area of PT. International Fiber Viola, Desa Silian, Kabupaten Minahasa Tenggara. The study area has a sloping topography with a height of 613 masl, using a survey method to obtain primary and secondary data. The results of the study show that the actual suitability of S2rcna is quite in accordance with the limiting factor for root media (rc), especially texture and nutrient availability (N, P, K). With the effort to improve management by adding organic matter, using mulch and fertilizing N (urea), P (TSP / SP36), K (Kiserit), the potential land suitability of S1rc was obtained according to the rooting medium (rc), especially texture.  Keywords : Potential of Abaka Banana Plant Land (Musa textilis Nee)

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to know how rainfall affects soil erosion without mulch and soil erosion with mulch treatment.It is one of the resources that play an important role in the survival of organisms. Rainfall is one of the great climatic elements thatplay a role in avalanches and erosion (sutedjo and kartasapoetra, 2002). Rainwater that falls on the earth will result in erosion ofthe soil in its path. One of the techniques for land and water conservation is that of mulsa (pratiwi, 2007). The method used in thisstudy is a secondary data analysis method. The number of data studied by as many as 34 samples through simple, linear regressionanalysis methods. Studies suggest that there is a tendency that the higher the precipitation, the more soil erosion is produced. Asfor the linrelation equation, it is Y1 = - 1304.4+ 81.411X with r efficiency = 0986 and Y2 = 58,891X - 933.26 with an r.0,985.Research obtained a value of significance by as high as,000 < 0.05; It could be concluded that the hypothesis (h1) that reads "rainfallhas a positive effect on erosion with and without any kind of mulch," is accepted. Regression coefficient effect of rainfall on erosionwith mulsa treatment is y2 = 81.411-22.5. Can be seen that the regression coefficient of dx is <001. This shows very clearly thecontrast in mulched soil erosion, its erosive drop by as much as 2.2.5 grams.Keywords: Rainfall, Mulch, Erosion.

Abstract

ABSTRACKVester J. Worung. 13031108059. Physical Land Suitability Study For ClovePlants in Tenga Village, Tenga District. Under the Guidance of Dr. Ir. Jody M.Mawara, M.Si (Chair) and Dr. Ir. Lientje Th. Karamoy, M.Si (Member).This study aims to evaluate the leval of land suitability for clove plants in thestudy area and the factors that limit them, and to determine the distribution of thesuitability of clove plantations in the study area. This research is excpected to beuseful to provide information to farmers in the middle region and the local govermantabout land characteristic and land suitability so that it can contribute to planning landuse for cloves plants.The method used in this research is a descriptive survey method that isdirectly observed in the field, namely soil depth, soil drainage, erosion, flood hazards,surface rocks, slope, rainfall, air humidity and temperature obtained from BMKG(Meteorology and Geophysics Agency) while the soil texture is determined in thefield by feeling and soil permeability. Retrieval of land characteristics ini the fieldusing the land unit approach.The results showed that the actual land suitability class for clove plants inTenga Village, Tenga District was obtained : S1 class (very suitable) on land unitsV1 (LaIIKl), V3 (LaIKl) and V4 (LaIIIKl) land area of 1.450 ha (31,73 %); S3 class(marjinal suitable) on land unit V5 (LaIVKl) land area of 720 ha (15,75 %) ; N class(not suitable) on land units V2 (LaVKl), V6 (LaVIKl) and V7 (LaVKl) covering anarea of 2,400 ha (52,52 %) with limiting erosion hazard factors (eh) especially theslope factor.3Pay attention to limiting factors in the land unit V2 (LaVKl), V6 (LaVIKl),dan V7 (LaVKl) covering on area of 2,400 h (52,52 %) the risk of erosion (eh)especially the slope factor, then after efforts are made to repair the soil or benchesterraces, individual terraces on clove plants, planting ground cover crops, to protectfrom rainwater that falls directly to the ground and reduce water flow above thesurface so that it can protect the soil from damage caused by erosion, obtained three(3) potential land suitability classes, namely : (1) land suitability S1 class (verysuitable) on land units V1 (LaIIKl), V3 (LaIKl) and V4 (LaIIIKl) land area of 1.450ha (31,73 %); (2) land suitability S2eh class (quite suitable) on the land unit V5(LaIVKl) land area of 720 ha (15,75 %); and (3) land suitability S3eh class (marginalsuitable) on land units V2 (LaVKl), V6 (LaVIKl) and V7 (LaVKl) covering an areaof 2,400 ha (52,52 %) with limiting erosion hazard factors (eh) especially the slopefactor.With this research, the selection of the location of clove plantations isadjusted to the suitability of the land, on land units that area very suitable andmarginal according to the slope factors as a limitation.Keywords: Land suitability, physical characteristics of land, clove plants

Abstract

ABSTRACTSoil conservation has a very important role in the prospect of land development to overcomethe problem of land degradation. This study aimed to determine the effects of corn stalk mulch andgrass strip toward soil erosion of dry land. Study about some research data from Nurdin (2012)entitled "Combination of Soil Conservation Techniques and Its Effect on Corn Yield and SoilErosion in Dry Land of Biyonga Sub-watershed, Gorontalo Regency", and Jaka (2017) entitled"Effect of the Treatments of Corn Stalk Mulch and Strip of Reinforced Terrace of Surface Runoff,Erosion and Farming Results" has been carried out on dry land farming of Keduang Sub-watershed, Bengawan Solo Watershed in Sendangsari Village, Batuwarno Sub-District, WonogiriRegency were then analyzed descriptively by the researcher. Results showed that BiyongaGorontalo Sub-watershed has an erosion value without treatment obtained from the calculations ofUSLE Method was 150.09 tons Ha-1year-1, whereas in Keduang Solo Sub-watershed the value ofsoil erosion on untreated soil was 12.77 tons Ha-1 year-1. The combination of given treatments wasthe provision of mulch and grass strips. The erosion category of both Biyonga and Keduang Sub-watersheds was classified as heavy, but with the application of vegetative soil conservationtechnology (mulch and grass strips) can reduce the level of land degradation even more and therate of erosion occurs.Keywords: mulch, grass strip, soil erosion, dry land
