Abstract

DYAH SUPRIYATI. 1989. The influence of soil inundation and fertilizer to the pathogenecity of Plasmodiophora brassicae Wor. on caisin plant. Berita Biologi 3(9): 463 - 466: Caisin (Brassica chinensis L.) is a member of family Btassicaceae. One of the important diseases that usually attack the plant is swollen root disease (clubroot). The disease is caused by an obligate parasitic fungi i.e. Plasmodiophora brassicae Wor.The pathogen is very difficult to be destroyed, because it has resting spore that remain viable in the soil for a long time. The purpose of this study is to know the influence of soil inundation and fertilizer to the pathogenecity of P. brassicae on caisin plant. The test design is Completely Randomised Design (CRD) with two treatments , soil inundation for 5 days, 10 days, 15 days and 20 days; giving urea, TSP, KC1, mixture of urea, TSP and KC1 fertilizer, lime and control. The observation was performed when the plant has frown for 25 days in the pot. The result of observation is that the treatments with lime, mix true of urea, TSP and KC1 fertiliser, 20 days and 15 days soil inundation decrease the grade of attact of P. brassicae on caisin plant.

Abstract

Experiment using organic fertilizer and microbial community to support the growth of Tectona grandis L.f in the cyanide contaminated-soil has been conducted in gold tailing pond Cikotok. Microbes used in this experiment were mixed of cyanide degradingbacteria,Nitrogen fixing-bacteria, and Phosphat solubilizing-bacteria. The results show that the microbes given in the Tectona grandis L.f plantation was significantly supporting the growth of the plants and reduced cyanide from the contaminated soil, but did not influence the microbe population of the soil.Key word: Phytoremediation, Cyanide, Tectona grandis L.f.

Abstract

Deltamethrin is an active ingredient of insecticides such as decis, and its common pollutant observe in agricultural soil.  Microbes that able to degrade deltamethrine and produced IAA as plant growth promoting hormone is important to support organic agriculture. The aim of this study was to find deltamethrin degrading bacteria capable of producing IAA and to evaluate  the effect of nitrogen on degradation rate of deltametrin and IAA production. Deltametrin degrading  Bacteria was  isolated from non-organic rice fields around Cibinong Science Center. Deltamethrin degradation ability was evaluated in NMS medium with the addition of a nitrogen source: yeast extract, urea and NPK. Analyses of 16S rDNA showed that deltamethrin degrading bacteria and producing IAA was identified as Pseudomonas sp. PIV-8-2. Nitrogen siginificantly affect the degradation deltametrin rate, but not on  IAA production. Only on the addition of yeast extract and urea significanly  affect to IAA production after 2 days incubation. Keywords: Deltamethrin Degradation, IAA, Pseudomonas sp. PIV-8-2, Farming.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBiodiversity of Phenanthrene by Alcanivorak borkumensis M5 Isolated from Teluk Jakarta.Phenantrene is one of the most persistent organic substances in environment. AlcanivoraxBorkumensis M5 was isolated from sea water, and able to degrade phenantrene after 5 hours.About 75 % of phenantrene was degraded after 12 hours. This isolate grew optimum at 300C,pH 7.8 with a doubling time of 14.5 hours and specific growth rate of 0.0476/hour.Polyhydroxybutirate (PHB) was produced during culture growth, but the synthesis wasinversely correlated with the cell growth. The relation between PHB synthesis and phenantrenedegradation is due required further investigation. Keywords: Phenanthrene, degradation ,bacteriaKata kunci: Phenantren, degradasi, bakteri
