Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementation of inquiry-based lab instructions on critical thinking skills and character of the conservation of students in basic physics 2 practicum courses. The design study is a One shoot case study.  The data collection technique using the test method to obtain data on cognitive skills and critical thinking skills of students, as well as observation methodology to assess the character of the conservation of students. The collected data were then analyzed using Pearson correlation formula. The test results of inquiry-based lab manual correlation with the critical thinking skills of students showed t 3.93 ≥ t table  2.08 this means that there is a correlation between variables. From the calculation rb of 0.63 so that it can be concluded that the relationship between the variables of guided inquiry with critical thinking skills are strong. Results of the analysis showed the character of the conservation of t 3.38 ≥ t table 2.08 so that there is influence between the application of inquiry-based lab instructions to the character of the conservation of students. From the calculation rb 0,58 so it can be concluded that the relationship between the variables of guided inquiry with the character of conservation is strong. This shows that the implementation of inquiry-based lab manual influence on critical thinking skills and character of the conservation of students in basic physics 2 practicum courses . Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh implementasi petunjuk praktikum berbasis inkuiri  terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan karakter konservasi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah praktikum fisika dasar 2. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One shoot case study. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes untuk memperoleh data tentang kemampuan kognitif dan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa, serta metode observasi untuk menilai karakter konservasi mahasiswa. Data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus korelasi Pearson. Hasil uji korelasi petunjuk praktikum berbasis inkuiri dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa menunjukkan thitung 3.93 ≥ ttabel 2.08 hal ini berarti ada korelasi antar variable. Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh rb sebesar 0,63 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hubungan antara variabel inkuiri terbimbing dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah kuat. Hasil analisis karakter konservasi menunjukkan thitung 3.38 ≥ ttabel 2.08 sehingga ada pengaruh antara penerapan petunjuk praktikum berbasis inkuiri terhadap karakter konservasi mahasiswa. Dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh rb sebesar 0,58 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hubungan antara variabel inkuiri terbimbing dengan karakter konservasi adalah kuat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi petunjuk praktikum berbasis inkuiri berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan karakter konservasi mahasiswa pada mata kuliah praktikum fisika dasar 2.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality figures of 21st century-based multi-representation assessments on linear motion material. Type of this research is Research & Development (R&D). Data were analyzed using an assessment validity test by an expert and empirical assessment quality test to obtain quality figures in the form of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and discrimination power. The results of the preliminary field testing analysis showed 58.33% items were declared valid and 41.67% items were declared invalid. Test items have very high reliability with a value of 0.877. The proportion of the level of difficulty is not ideal, that is equal to 58.33% of questions categorized as difficult and 41.67% of questions categorized as sufficient. The discrimination power of the questions is 8.34% of the questions in a good category, 22.22% are sufficient, 58.33% are bad, and 11.11% are very bad. The result of main field testing, 69.44% items were declared valid and 30.56% items were declared invalid. Test items have high reliability with a value of 0.879. The proportion of the level of difficulty obtained in the main field testing is also not ideal, which is 56% of the difficult category and 44% of the sufficient category. The discrimination power consist of 32% good, 40% were sufficient, and 28% were poor.

Abstract

Komposit alam berbahan dasar daun jati telah dikembangkan di Universtas Negeri Semarang sebagai bahan alternatif pengganti kayu. Bahan komposit tersebut bersifat non konduktif sehingga untuk mengamati morfologinya dengan SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) diperlukan proses coating dengan menggunakan bahan konduktif seperti emas (Au) dan Palladium (Pd). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan waktu coating optimal untuk sampel komposit alam. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan variasi waktu coating yaitu 30 sampai 180 detik dengan penambahan 30 detik pada arus tetap 18 mA. Dari hasil SEM menunjukkan bahwa secara kualitatif waktu coating optimal untuk bahan komposit alam adalah 90 detik. Dari analisis EDX didapatkan penambahan waktu coating mengakibatkan penurunan persentase kandungan unsur bahan komposit alam. Hasil EDX pada waktu coating 90 detik diperoleh kandungan Carbon 10,7 %, Oksigen 1,4% dan Nitrogen 1% dan bahan pelapis Emas 85,5% dan Palladium 0,6%.

Abstract

Cooking oil is one of the needs of society in order to fulfill daily needs. The economic condition of Indonesian people is very diverse, some use cooking oil for single use but some also use cooking oil for several times usage. The high unsaturated fatty acids in cooking oil, cause cooking oil will be easily damaged in the process of frying (deep frying) because in the process of frying, oil will be heated continuously at high temperatures. The  use  of  used  cooking  oil  or  jelantah  can  cause  adverse  effects  to  the  commu- nity  and  the  environment.  The  adverse  impacts  on  the  community  are  caused  by the  decline  in  the  quality  of  food  fried  with  cooking  oil  which  results  in  disruption  of  public  health.  Adverse  impact  to  the  environment  is  the  disposal  of  cooking   oil   without   first   processing   can   pollute   the   soil   and   water   environment. Utilization of used cooking oil as kerosene replacement fuel is one solution that can be tak- en when facing the bad impact of used cooking oil. In order to serve as a substitute fuel for kerosene, jelantah oil must have karaketristik that is almost the same as kerosene. One of the most important characteristics is the viscosity number. Wrinkled oil has a high viscosity, so that the use of jelantah oil must undergo certain processes to decrease its viscosity. One way to reduce viscosity is by warming at high temperatures over long periods of time. Partners    in    this    devotional    activity    are    the    vendors    of    gorengan    around the  campus  of  UNNES  FMIPA.  They  use  a  lot  of  cooking  oil  in  their  business,  maybe  even  cooking  oil  used  many  times  and  waste  of  used  cooking  oil will   be   thrown   indiscriminately   so   as   to   pollute   the   surrounding   environment. With this devotion is expected the traders gorengan around FMIPA UNNES campus can process waste used cooking oil into fuel substitute kerosene so that will reduce environmental pollution.

Abstract

Bahan resin timbal menjadi bahan alternatif dari bahan proteksi radiasi. Scanning Electron Microscopy Electron Dispersive X-ray (SEM EDX) banyak digunakan sebagai karakterisai suatu material karena mampu mendapatkan hasil topologi dan nilai konsentrasi atomik dari suatu bahan. Dalam penelitian dilakukan uji SEM EDX dengan sampel resin timbal berbentuk serbuk dengan variasi komposisi resin dan timbal asetat sebesar 0;100, 90;10, 70;30, dan 50;50. Hasil scan EDX menunjukkan komposisi 50;50 memiliki kandungan timbal lebih besar sehingga mampu menjadi bahan proteksi yang baik. Sedangkan uji SEM menghasilkan data berupa citra yang dilakukan perbesaran sebesar 3000, 5000 dan 10.000x. hasil analisis citra SEM menggunakan metode Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) menghasilkan rata-rata nilai CNR pada perbesaran 3000, 5000 dan 10.000 kali adalah 8.085, 11.0425, dan 18.495. Dari hasil rata-rata nilai CNR dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai CNR paling besar pada citra dengan perbesaran 10.000 kali dan dari hasil pengamatan visual citra dengan perbesaran 10.000 kali memiliki detail yang lebih baik dibandingkan perbesaran lainnya sehingga peneliti lebih mudah menentukan objek dan background.

Abstract

Cu-doped ZnO (ZnO:Cu) thin film was deposited on glass substrate using a sol-gel spin coating method. The film was prepared at various spinning rate followed by sintering at 250 °C for 10 min and annealing at 350 °C for 2 hours. The effect of spinning rate on structural properties was investigated by means of X-ray diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). The diffraction pattern indicated that Cu-ZnO thin films showed a strong c-axis orientation, i.e. the peak attributed to (002) plane at a of corresponding to hexagonal wurtzite crystals. An increase in the spinning rate resulted in ZnO:Cu thin films with high homogeneity. It was further proved by SEM and EDX results.
