Abstract

Pandanarum Village Head's Office is an office which located at the frontier of two villages in Pandanarum Village, Mojokerto Regency, especially on Pacet Subdistrict. The Village Head's Office performing population record activities on its administration. On the recording of its populations, the Village Office doesn't have a good data structure yet and inefficient recap process that affects the overall evaluation performance of the population when Village Head need data immediately. Based on the problems in this research, it inflicts the Village Head can’t give the right decision for village development. This research produces interface design that focuses on the user's perspective and their needs to increase data recording efficiency and providing information to Head Office at Pandanarum Village Office using Human-Centred Design (HCD) method. There are several phases in HCD, there are understanding and specify the context of usage, specify the user requirements, produce design solution and evaluating the design of wireframe and high fidelity prototypes. The features are based on accordance with user requirements and then evaluating design solution qualitatively through direct interviews with users to meet user needs and consist of user agreement. This research result interface designs, 9 improvement recommendations and interface design that have been improved.

Abstract

Brawijaya University has thousands of students with diverse backgrounds. Almost all student in Brawijaya University using smartphone for daily activities. The intensity of smartphone usage can affect communication behavior. It can be formed differences in the procedures or ethics of directly communicating and through information technology media, especially communication between students and lecturers. Therefore, we need a system with quality educational content to help Brawijaya University students to make positive communication behavior within the University of Brawijaya environment. To attract students’ interest, an interactive and fun system is needed. This requires the concept of gamification in designing systems. The concept of gamification was chosen because the concept supports motivation improvement through the psychological side of the game element, namely through a combination of challenges, feedback, and rules. So that it can reduce the cost burden of implementing the system. To support the concept of gamification, a Player Centered Design approach is needed as a flow in system design. The design process produces 13 system requirements, 5 mission definitions, 6 motivation definitions, and the final result is a high fidelity prototype. In this research using testing process to generate some design improvement from user. Testing process in this research is using playtesting method. It has 2 iterations. In first iteration produce 8 system improvement designs and second iteration produce 1 system improvement design.

Abstract

Bengkel Mas Pur Baturaja is a company that focuses on vehicle body repair services, especially for four-wheel vehicle. In the very beginning, Bengkel Mas Pur Baturaja uses manual data processing which requires that every transaction must be recorded. In this management, this company has many problem including unregistered transactions and incomplete transaction data. From these problems, a point of sales information system for car services shop was made. Point of sales information system for car services shop is a cloud computing-based system that can be accessed by users through a web browser, users will be easily to record every transaction by the company. The development of point of sales information systems for a workshops is using the CodeIgniter framework, a programming languages like PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript and used MySQL as database. The implementation for cloud computing will be used Infrastructure service (IaaS) as service type that is AWS EC2 from Amazon Web Services as a cloud provider and the instance is t2.micro with Ubuntu Server 16.04 as operating system. Tests carried out on this system will use functional testing and non-fuctional testing. Functional testing on the system has 93% declared valid according to user requirements, and the system has been successfully run on several web browsers that are often generally used.

Abstract

The website has an important function as a useful media for education. SMAN 1 Bangkalan is one of the schools have their own website to provide information. Information obtained such as announcements or the latest news. This study theme is evaluating and improving the user interface of the official website of SMAN 1 Bangkalan. Website Usability Evaluation Tool (WEBUSE) method as an evaluation material that contains a questionnaire. The function of this questionnaire is to see the level of success of a website that suits user needs. Results of the evaluation found a problem about the user interface of the website that still does not provide satisfaction and comfort of its users. Therefore, this research was conducted to improve the website interface design using HCD so that the design is as desired. The results of the usability evaluation of SMAN 1 Bangkalan website have increased the usability value between the old design and the new design improvement. The overall usability value for the website user interface is currently 0.55 which means it's at a moderate level, and the usability evaluation results for the overall design solution are 0.74 which means it's at a good level,

Abstract

Cicil or Cicil.co.id is a social-tech financial startup company which provide ease in installments for students. But Cicil mobile applications for android have not been able to meet the requirements of its users as we saw on Google Play Store’s review from July to August 2019 and the results of interviews with three users. Some of the problems in Cicil applications were from usability aspect. Bad experienced by these users make users unsatisfied with the use of the Cicil mobile application and it cause users give low ratings for the Cicil mobile application. This research was conducted with a deeper purpose regarding the usability aspects related to the Cicil application by using the heuristic method. After that, recommendations are given on the usability problems. The recommendations were based on advice from evaluator, guidelines, previous applications, journal, article, or book. This study used four evaluators in the regular category and found 27 problems included 10 Nielsen's heuristic principles. The highest precentage of problems found on heuristics number 6 and 7 is 14,52%, while the lowest percentage of heuristic numbers is provided in heuristic number 9 is 3,22%. After going through the analysis, from 27 usability promblems only 21 problems were given recommendations for improving the application interface. Six problems were not given recommendations because they were not in accordance with the existing principles and theories.

Abstract

Kampung Sapi Adventure Tourism is a cow farm that used as a place for educational tourism objects and develops the concept of agritourism. Currently it does not have information system used for promotional media, booking tickets online, and making financial reports. Buying and selling tickets and bookings through social media are still done manually, therefore, tourists send photos of proof of transfer payments.Then the tour officer will input the ticket purchase transaction data into spreadsheet. This manual process can cause invalid data, because officers are less careful about entering data. This research, an e-commerce application will be built by utilizing the midtrans payment gateway to facilitate the data collection of tourists in the case of buying and selling tickets and reservations as well as making it easier for tour officials to record ticket sales transaction. This researcher uses a Service Oriented Architecture.This research develop requirement analysis, design, implementation, and testing of the system. The testing methods uses are blackbox and compatibility. The test results on this application indicate alignment between system design and applications, and can be run on multiple browsers.

Abstract

The Central Statistics Agency of Malang Regency is a government agency that collects statistical data in Malang Regency through a census. This census activity is called outstation activity. Each employee must report the outstation activity to the Administrative Sub-Staff so that presence doesn't marked as absence. However, in its implementation, there were a constrain that all employee were reporting via WhatsApp chat. While, recording the data by entering the data into Microsoft Office Excel. Either data is recapitulated by creating a calendar of outstation activity markers in Microsoft Office Excel. Based on that problem, it is necessary to build Outstation Activity Monitoring Information System. This is a web-based system so that employee can reported the data easily. This system is also integrated with the Google Calendar API so that it can show data in form of calendar which make it easier for outstation activity. The results of this study consist of 13 functional requirements that can be traced 13 use cases, 13 activity diagrams, 13 sequence diagrams and 15 interface design. The system is tested using the Traceability Matrix and the result show valid requirement and design document. While testing the prototype, the results of the system design were in accordance with what was expected by the employees and the Administrative Sub-Staff.

Abstract

Grab Driver is an application used by driver partners to do their jobs every day. In its effort to adapt the application to the needs of the driver partners, Grab made various updates to the application. Updates made to this application invite responses from users. This study then aims to identify the effect of these feature changes on user experience by evaluating long-term user experience using the UX Curve method. At the data collection stage, 100 curves were produced which were divided into 5 points of view, namely attractiveness, degree of usage, ease of use, and utility.. The results of data collection are 63 improving curves, 10 deteriorating curves, and also 27 stable curves. The total reason generated was 592 reasons with an average of 29.6 reasons per respondent (20.7 positive, and 8.9 negative N = 20). In all dimensions there is one feature that always gets positive comments namely the auto-accept feature. The existence of this feature has a positive impact on the Grab Driver application user experience. The most influential aspect of the Grab Driver application is the utility aspect with an average of 11.65 reasons stated by each user (7.45 positive and 4.2 negative, N = 20), and the least is the motivational aspect with an average of 5, 55 reasons (4.15 positive and 1.4 negative, N = 20). This indicates that to improve user experience, the most influential aspect is the utility aspect

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the quality level of usability based on the stakeholders demands of the company's by considering the usability criteria in the aspects of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. The object of this research is the information system of the krakatau hospital system owned by PT Krakatau Information Technology which is carried out on 2 different types of platforms, website platform and android platform. The evaluation method use pattern based usability testing which in the process contains the formation of usability patterns and testing scenarios, then use the usability criteria question of satisfaction aspects of the USE questionnaire. Data collection is done by the testing using work assignments to test respondents. The sample of this study was 10 test respondents with 2 different classifications, test respondents who had never used a similar system (respondent classification 0) and test respondents who had used a similar system (respondent classification 1), which were selected using the purposive sampling method. The results of this study get the formation of 4 work tasks on each platform based on the process of forming usability patterns and testing scenarios. The test results get measurements of the level of usability quality on 3 aspects of usability, finding 12 problems on the website platform, and 17 problems on the android platform. Formed 10 recommendations for improving the website platform problems and 10 recommendations for improving the android platform problems.

Abstract

Faculty of Computer Science (FILKOM) of Brawijaya University currently has an E-Learning website that still has many shortcomings proven by small number of FILKOM students who use the website and complaints given to pre-research questionnaire distributed online to FILKOM students. This shows the website design doesn’t meet the needs and student goals. The Goal-Directed Design (GDD) method can provide solution to create website design that suits the user's needs and goals. In its application, GDD method has six phases. The first phase is research to get the needs and conditions desired by stakeholders and users. The second phase is modeling that create user persona and user journey. The third phase is requirements that will create a context scenario and functional needs. The fourth phase is the framework that create wireframe. The last phase is refinement to create high-fidelity prototype that ready to be tested and evaluated using SUS questionnaire. Final SUS evaluation gave an average score of 74 and entered the Grade C criteria, acceptable category in acceptability ranges, and good category in the adjective rating and also received a B- in the Sauro & Lewis Grading Scale. So that website improvements can be accepted and assessed well by users
