Abstract

This study was intended to find out the students? ability in reading descriptive text. Reading skills are considered as an important skill and are uneasy to acquire. In this study, there were 40 students of the second year students of SMAN 1 Sikur are involved as the subject of this study. The method used in this research is a quantitative study. In collecting the data, the writer used a reading test. The data were analyzed through basic statistical computation. To find out their ability and difficulties in reading descriptive text, the test was used which consists of 25 items to students in the form of multiple choice. The test score for each item was 0.4 points. The result of data analysis showed that the mean score of the second year students of SMAN 1 Sikur in reading the descriptive text was fairly good. There were 21 (52.5%) students who were in a high position and 19 (47.5%) students were in a low position. Although 52.5% of students in a high position and 47.5% in a low position, the students? mean score shows a low position, it is 7.2 mean score which classified as fairly good. Therefore, the ability of the second year students of SMAN 1 Sikur has not been in a high position which is categorized from excellent to good score level. This is caused by the lack of reading strategy and vocabulary. The two weaknesses become students? difficulties in reading descriptive text.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to obtain an overview of improving speaking skills and self-regulated students of English education of Institute Pendidikan Nusantara Global in the implementation of English area. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted at the Institute Pendidikan Nusantara Global (IPNG) Aikmual Lombok Tengah NTB. After the data is obtained the researcher further analyzes and tests the validity of the data by validating the data using data source triangulation tests and data collection techniques. The data of this research collected through practice test (Themes: environment, culture, health, education) and non-test (interview guidelines, self-regulated questionnaires and documentation studies). Based on the results of test and data analysis it can be concluded that the ability of students in improving speaking skills using English area is very effective and needs to be applied and developed. The application of English area can improve students’ speaking skills and self-regulated.

Abstract

Dunia pendidikan saat ini sedang dihadapkan pada permasalahan besar yaitu penyebaran virus COVID 19. Para guru dan dosen dituntut untuk tidak melakukan pembelajaran secara tatap muka di karenakan untuk mencegah penyebaran virus tersebut. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan sebuah strategi dan metode pembelajaran yang tepat untuk mengatasi hal tersebut. Penelitian ini berjudul Pengaruh Metode Group Investigation Menggunakan Pembelajaran Online Dalam Pembelajaran Membaca Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa di MA Ziadatussyakirin NW Sikur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana pengaruh metode Group Investigation dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris online khususnya pada kemampuan Reading terhadap hasil belajar siswa di MA Ziadatussyakirin NW Sikur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pra eksperimen. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan satu kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen sekaligus kelas kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI di MA NW Sikur tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian populasi karena semua anggota populasi pada penelitian ini menjadi sampel dikarenakan jumlah kelasnya hanya satu rombel. Sehingga sampel penelitian ini adalah 36 siswa di MA Ziadatussyakirin NW Sikur. Hasil belajar siswa diukur dengan menggunakan tes berupa soal pilihan ganda yang diambil dari materi yang telah dipelajarinya dan hasil tes tersebut kemudian dihitung dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif, statistik inferensial dan pengujian hipotesis untuk melihat sejauh mana keberhasilan metode tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test yaitu 59,4 dan 68,0 dan hasil pengujian hipotesis signifikan pada = 0,000, artinya hipotesis nol ditolak (Ho) dan hipotesis alternatif diterima (Ha). Artinya ada pengaruh metode Group Investigation dalam pembelajaran membaca pada siswa kelas XI MA Ziadatussyakirin NW Sikur tahun ajaran 2021-2022.

Abstract

Sasak tribe is a tribe in Lombok Island that used Sasak language as their mother language. In their social life, the society of Sasak will not pass from social interaction among the people by using the language. Same as the other languages, this language has many role and grammatical which unknown yet by the other people. In this paper, the researcher will explain more about the role in Sasak language it is about degrees of comparison. In this part there are three types of degrees of comparison those are equality, comparative, and superlative. To get real grammatical in Sasak language, the researchers collected the data from the society then continued to analyze it after that the researcher got conclusions about the data. From the conclusions the researcher got the result: The first, in equality comparison, the society of Sasak use prefix ke before adjective then followed by preposition Kance. The second finding was in applying the role of comparative the adjective was added by suffix an then followed by preposition isik. And the last finding is about superlative role. In this degree the society of Sasak used word Santer or Tulen before put the adjective.

Abstract

The education in Indonesia is currently experiencing enormous problems due to the spread of Covid 19, therefore the government orders all teachers and lecturers not to do face-to-face learning during the pandemic. Online learning is one solution that teachers and lecturers can do to avoid face-to-face learning. This study aims to see the effectiveness of the success of online learning in the public speaking course at Institut Pendidikan Nusantara Global. This type of research is quantitative research because it will calculate the value obtained by students in online learning during college. Data collection techniques in this study used attendance scores, assignments, midterm exams (UTS), and final semester exams (UAS). The data is then analyzed by accumulating the number of values ​​obtained using the assessment format that has been prepared in the form of Microsoft exel. The results of this study were the graduation rate of all students reached 80.8 with a passing rate reaching 100%. From these results it can be concluded that learning using an online system can be said to be successful.

Abstract

Register is a variety of languages ​​used based on usage, such as online game players who have certain types and functions of registers that distinguish the gamers profession from other professions. Mobile legends is an online game that is played in groups. In a Mobile Legends tournament, not only players are involved in a match but there will also be commentators who will guide and provide comments on the match. The purpose of this study is to analyze the form of the Register Language used by the Mobile Legends game commentator in the MPL season 5 tournament. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection was done by observing the data by replaying the MPL season 5 grand final video many times, then transcribing the video script based on the expressions used and matching the script directly. The data analysis carried out consisted of three processes, namely data selection, data processing, and conclusions. The results of this study found that there was a use of register language that came from a foreign language, namely English which was used by Mobile Legends commentators such as the words first blood, retreat, recall, and play off.

Abstract

This pre-experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of problem based learning in teaching narrative type of reading text at the tenth grade of public senior high school (SMAN) 1 Sukamulia, East Lombok. The sample of this research consisted of 30 students taken through purposive sampling. A pre-test and a post-test were used to collect the data on the reading ability of the students, and observation list was employed to gather the data on how problem based learning involves the students in the learning process. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive statistic and paired-sample t-test to answer the hypothesis. The result of data analysis revealed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test scores, t(df=29) = 5.203 at p = 0.000, meaning that the null hypothesis is rejected (Ho) and alternative hypothesis is accepted (Ha).It means that there was a significant effect of problem based learning method in teaching critical reading for the tenth graders of SMAN 1 Sukamulia.

Abstract

Pengembangan tempat-tempat wisata di daerah Lombok Tengah harus dapat dibarengi dengan peningkatan sumber daya manusia, khususnya dalam bidang bahasa Inggris, karena adanya kemajuan daerah yang terus meningkat yang ditandai dengan pengembangan dalam hal penataan secara lebih baik tempat- tempat wisata khususnya di daerah Lombok Tengah. Untuk meningkatkan SDM perlu di Pengembangan sumber daya manusia dapat berupa pemberian kursus Bahasa Inggris disamping untuk menciptakan tenaga kerja yang bertanggung jawab, hal ini juga dapat mengembangkan potensi desa, juga membina para pemuda untuk aktif menunjang program pemerintah dalam bidang pariwisata. Pengabdian yang dilakukan dengan kegiatan utama meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris dalam bidang perhotelan bagi para pemuda di Desa Pengembur Lombok Tengah benar-benar merupakan kegiatan yang bersinergi secara positif dengan masyrakat sesuai dengan tujuan Lembaga Pengabdian Masyarakat dari IPNG. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian oleh 3 orang dosen dan 2 orang mahasiswa institut pendidikan nusantara global dalam 4 (empat) minggu menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris dalam bentuk sederhana dalam bidang perhotelan bagi para pemuda di Desa Pengembur Lombok Tengah.
