Abstract

Energy consumption that still use fossil energy or non-renewable energy has a negative impact on the environment. Alternative energy innovations or renewable energy have also begun to be developed to replace fossil energy or non-renewable energy. This study aims to determine whether other types of plants that wasn’t used by Helder could also generate electricity and reduce the impact of non-renewable energy. This research was conducted by placing electrodes on the soil close to the roots of the plants. In this experiment, we used 3 types of plants that are common at home, namely Chrysanthemum, Orchid, and Red Begonia. The results show that there is indeed a very small flow of electricity, this could possibly due to various factors. If this experiment continues to develop, the possibility of green-electrical energy could be more than just a dream. Based on experiments using a prototype that we have done, the three plants have the potential to produce electric currents in the range of 0.02mA-0.65mA.

Abstract

Ecological Crisis is a change in world weather which is getting warmer due to the accumulation of CO2 gas in the atmosphere. Burning rock coal which is a source of electricity generation, is a contributor to the effects of the ecological crisis in the world. This caused the world needs new energy sources, such as piezoelectric, etc. The manufacture of piezoelectric mats as house bells aims to show that there is alternative energy for power generation in order to reduce the use of coal in Indonesia. By reducing the use of coal, it will reduce the occurrence of an ecological crisis. The research method we used was an experiment with planning, design and implementation stages. The renewal of this project is to assemble and apply the piezoelectric directly to objects that require electrical energy by replacing the power source from the piezoelectric system, and implementing it for house bells. Piezoelectric mat is a mat that can generate electrical energy if the surface is pressed. This energy can be generated from the piezoelectric that is installed on the inside of the mat. Piezo mats will be installed to be stepped on by guests visiting a house. This foot step will put pressure on the mat. The more tread is obtained, the more electricity is generated. This piezo carpet will be installed in front of the house. The use of piezo mats is an effort to utilize mechanical energy in the form of pressure generated by footrests into electrical energy.

Abstract

Bunga mawar (Rosa hybrida) merupakan salah satu jenis bunga potong yang memiliki nilai ekonomi tinggi dan sangat prospektif untuk dikembangkan secara komersial. Namun, kesegaran dari bunga mawar merah potong tidak mampu bertahan lama akibat kandungan air yang tinggi pada mawar. Salah satu upaya untuk mempertahankan kualitas dan memperpanjang masa kesegaran bunga adalah dengan pemberian larutan perendam. Umumnya larutan perendam terdiri dari air, gula (sukrosa), bakterisida, dan antibiotik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis medium terhadap vase life bunga potong mawar merah dan jenis medium yang paling efektif untuk memperpanjang vase life bunga potong mawar merah. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan 6 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang diuji, yaitu A (air mineral), AG (Air dan larutan gula 1%), GK1 (larutan gula 1% dan ekstrak kemangi 12,5%), GK2 (larutan gula 1% dan ekstrak kemangi 25%), GB1 (larutan gula 1% dan ekstrak belimbing wuluh 12,5%), GB2 (larutan gula 1% dan ekstrak belimbing wuluh 25%). Dan dalam setiap perlakuan berisi tiga bunga mawar potong. Data diolah secara statistik dengan teknik pengolahan data menggunakan Uji ANOVA dan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan A, AG dan GB1 menunjukan tingkat kesegaran bunga yang paling tinggi, sedangkan pada perlakuan GK2 menunjukan tingkat kesegaran bunga yang paling rendah.

Abstract

The used of electricity from year to year is increasing. One of the alternative to power plants with abundant availability is wood waste. The aims of this study is to: (1) design a wood waste PLTU prototype as an alternative biomass-based energy resource and an effort to reduce wood waste, (2) describe the calorific value, the resulting electrical voltage, and the duration of the lamp flame generated from wood waste fuel. Teak (Tectona grandis), surian wood waste (Toona sureni), and a mixture of both. This descriptive research includes 3 stages, which is analysis, design, and testing. Through this research, a prototype of a wood waste steam power plant was successfully designed by utilizing biomass waste fuel. The results showed that the calorific value, the resulting electrical voltage, and the resistance time of the lamp varied in the wood samples used. This indicates that the wood samples used have the potential to be used as an alternative to biomass-based energy resources.

Abstract

Skarifikasi berfungsi untuk mengurangi hambatan mekanik biji sehingga mempermudah biji dalam melakukan imbibisi yang dapat mempercepat pematahan dormansi yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya hidup atau berkecambah dan daya kecepatan pertumbuhan biji peria. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh skarifikasi mekanik melalui pengamplasan dan skarifikasi kimiawi melalui perendaman larutan HCl dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda terhadap vigor dan viabilitas pada biji peria (Momordica charantia). Penelitian terdiri atas beberapa tahap, yaitu persiapan biji peria yaitu dengan dilakukan perlakuan seperti pengamplasan dan pengimbibisian dengan HCl. Kemudian dilakukan pembibitan, yaitu penanaman biji peria menggunakan media tanam sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Pertumbuhan biji diamati tiap harinya dan dicatat panjang radikula yang muncul. Data pengamatan kemudian diolah menggunakan Uji Anova melalui aplikasi SPSS. Didapatkan bahwa skarifikasi mekanik (pengamplasan) dan skarifikasi kimiawi (pengimbibisian menggunakan HCl) memberikan pengaruh yang tidak signifikan terhadap viabilitas dan vigor biji peria. Skarifikasi mekanik dan kimiawi berpengaruh positif terhadap viabilitas dan vigor biji, sedangkan penggabungan perlakuan antara skarifikasi mekanik dan kimiawi berdampak negatif bagi viabilitas dan vigor biji.

Abstract

This study aims to describe student's learning experiences in explaining scientific phenomena in online science/biology learning. This study uses a descriptive method, the data sources are questionnaires and Student Worksheets (LKS) from six schools in the city of Bandung which were selected by stratified random sampling with good, sufficient and poor categories based on the 2019 BSNP. There are 207 state junior high school students in Bandung City who filled out a 40-item questionnaire to answer this research. Questionnaire items for students have been adjusted to the skills to explain scientific phenomena based on the PISA 2018 framework. The results show that the student's learning experience in explaining scientific phenomena of Science/Biology when online learning has not been implemented optimally. The results show that the skill to explain scientific phenomena gets score 1,01. There are results of the worksheet’s analysis which show that the orders or questions on the worksheet that have been made by the teacher are 50% according to those obtained from schools in the good category. Through this research, the problem is that when doing practicum, the material is not understood because of the discrepancy of the material during the learning process.

Abstract

Environmental problems need to be solved by students' HOTS abilities. This research aimed to develop environmental learning student's worksheet of air pollution (eswopol) based on Higher Order Thinking Skills Assessment based on Environmental Problems (HOTS-AEP). The research method used research and development that modified from Borg and Gall model. The study was conducted in December 2019 until January 2020. The research instrument used the interview transcript and validation questionnaire. The research data obtained in the form of an average score of validation results. The data analysis technique used is descriptive. The results showed that the environmental learning student's worksheet of air pollution (eswopol) based on HOTS-AEP was declared valid with an average validation score of 3.55 (very valid category). The conclusion of this research is eswopol based on HOTS-AEP is appropriate for use in a learning environment.

Abstract

The human population increases every year, reported from the official website of the United Nation, in 2011 the world population reached 7 billion people. Then in 2016 reached 7.4 billion people and the world population in   2020 reached 7.7 billion people. It is estimated that by 2030 it will grow to 8.5 billion people and by 2050 to reach 9.7 billion inhabitants. which makes energy needs also increase. With these facts, we design gasification stove biomass energy that aims to reduce the use of non-renewable fuels.  The study aims to design a rice husks gasification stove to minimize agricultural waste. In this study, there is an innovation in tar reduction using dolomite as a catalyst. This research uses qualitative research methods that are presented descriptively. The gasification stove design is inspired by the oil stove with the addition of an iron pipe that serves as an oxygen supplier. The design of gasification stoves using rice husk as fuel was successfully carried out. This stove is proven to be one of the tools to maximize the potential of using rice husks as fuel. Finally, we hope that this research can continue to be refined in further studies to maximize the utilization of rice husk waste as renewable alternative energy.
