Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to know the effectivity of the Relating Experiencing Applying Cooperating Transferring (REACT) design to remediate the misconceptions of the students toward work and energy subject. This study used quasy-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design which 58 students participated at the X grade in SMA Negeri 2 Sungai Raya, which was taken by simple random sampling. The data was taken by 14 multiple choice open-ended questions. The average of the reduction of the misconceptions in the experimental class was 47.42%, where as in control group was 18.86 %. Based on U Mann-Whitney with significance 5%, showed that there was a significant difference between the REACT design and conventional design to remediate the student’s misconceptions in work and energy. REACT design is effective in remediating the student’s misconceptions in work and energy with effect size score in 4.08 which is categorized high enough by Cohen. So the REACT design can be used as the alternative design for remediating the misconceptions.Keyword: Misconception, REACT, Remediation,  Work and energy

Abstract

AbstractThis research was aimed to known effectiveness the application of conceptual change model to reduce students? misconceptions on heat and temperature in SMA Negeri 2 Teluk Keramat. Pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design used in this research. Sample of this research was students from XI IPAclass (n = 37) who choosen by saturated  sampling technique. Diagnostic test which consisted of 18 multiple choice question with open reasoning.Based on the results of data analysis found the findings, as follows: (1) the percentage of students? misconceptions before and after being given remedial learning each 63,36% and 18,01%; (2) the average decrease of misconceptions equal to 45,35%; (3) There was a significant conceptual change (  50,7;  1;  0,05) after being given remedial learning; and (4) The level effectiveness of remediation is high (DQM= 71,57%).Based on these results, it is expected that conceptual change model can be used as an alternative remediation activities to reduce misconception. Keywords:       Misconception, Remediation, Conceptual Change Model, Heat and Temperature

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of study is to know that advance organizer learning model helped worksheet can remediate students’ error in solving Kirchoff’s second law problems in SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. The type of study is pre-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study was selected using intact group technique to obtain 34 students from class X H. Data collection instrument used is four essay questions that have been validated (validity is 3.5 on medium category) and tested for its reliability (reliability is 0.649 on high category). Based on data analysis obtained that the most students’ error on solving Kirchhoff's second law ploblems is calculation error by 77% in pre-test and post-test current 36%. As for the average decrease in students’ error on solving the Kirchoff’s second law after being given remedy using advance organizer learning model by 75% with the effectiveness of 0.756. Thus, advance organizer learning model helped worksheet can remediate the students' error on solving Kirchoff’s second law problem at SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. So, hopefully the result of study can be used as reference of teacher in learning. Keywords    : Advance organizer, worksheet, students’ error, Kirchoff second law

Abstract

AbstractThe use of visual aids as the media in learning is choosed because of  its efficiency and multitasking potential that can be used for the learning activities. The purpose of this research is to identify and develop the visual aid in order to improve the students? learning outcomes, about the energy of electricity in Science subject of 11 Danau Kadung Suli Elementary School . This development research uses Borg & Gall Research and Development approach (1983:772). The subjects in this research are the 14 fourth grader students of 11 Danau Kandung Suli in the school year of 2018/ 2019, Jongkong District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. As for the data gathering in this research are: (1) Interview; (2) Observation; (3) Documentary Study; (4) Test; and (5) Validation. The data analysis in this research consists of qualitative analysis and T-Test. The result of this research shows that the Danau Kandang Suli (DKS) Solar Ship visual aid that has been developed is effective  to improve students? learning outcomes. To get that result, the datas were being analyzed to know, how big its effect to improve students? learning outcomes. The result of pretest and posttest  shows that the effect of the visual aid has the signification of= 0,00 < ? 0,05, which means there is difference of students? learning outcomes before and after learning process using visual aid that has been developed. The impact in using visual aid is categorized as high that is ES > 0,8 , and the gained ES score of the used visual aid  was 1,47.Keyword: Development, Eenergy of electicity, Visual aid.

Abstract The aims of this research are to know influence cooperative learning model type student teams achievement divisions (STAD) helped word square to remediate student’  misconception in VIII level SMP Negeri 16 Pontianak on oscillation material. The shape of research is pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample choosed using random with intact group technique so it was selected class VIII J academic year 2014/2015 numbered 26 students. The data instrument of this research is multiple choices with open reasons. The result of data analysis shown students’ misconception in pre-test is 96,15% and students’ misconception in post-test is 54,32%. So that, there is a decline students’ misconception is 42%. Based on the results of correlation test using Sperman-Rank test obtained  count (0,907) more than  table (0,392) on 26 students.  Beside that,  count (0,875) more than  table (0,738) on 8 sample.
