Abstract

Abstract The principal is a leader in a school institution that has a very important role as managers, leaders, motivators in educational institutions, and responsible in fostering subordinates of teachers, administrative staff to achieve the goal of hope in improving the quality of school. The focus of the problem in this research is: "How is the principal's role in improving the quality of school in SD Negeri 5 Sintang. With the sub-problems: (1) how the principal's role as manager in improving the quality in SD Negeri 5 Sintang, (2) how the principal's role as the leader towards quality improvement in SD Negeri 5 Sintang, (3) the role of principal as motivator in improving quality in SD Negeri 5 sintang, (4) Any obstacles found by the principal in improving the quality in SD Negeri 5 Sintang. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method that is to describe and understand the role of the principal in improving the quality. Subjects in this study are the principal of SD Negeri 5 Sintang, Class Teacher and Head of Administration. The result of this research is that the principal has done his best to carry out his duties as manager, leader, and motivator to provide direction, motivation and encouragement to all school people to perform their duties. Keywords : Role of Principal As Manager, Leader, Motivator and School Quality

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by the lack of learning strategies undertaken by teachers in developing the character of children’s discipline so that there are still many children who lack discipline. The general problem of this research is how is the learning strategy in developing the discipline character of children in kindergarten Mujahidin 1 Pontianak? The purpose of this study is to describe learning strategies in developing discipline character. The assessment aspect of the learning strategy of developing discipline character is that the teacher uses communication skill in children and clarifies values to develop the character of discipline. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 12 teachers in class B. the location of the study was Pontianak Mujahidin 1 kindergarten. Based on the results of the sudy concluded as follows 1. Develop character discipline in children, namely verbal communication. 2. The value clarification strategy used by the teacher in developing the character of discipline in children is the teacher accustoming the child to finding, deciding and taking his own attitude about discipline. 3. Supporting factors in fostering the character of discipline in children are means from schools that support to foster the character of child discipline, and are supported by teacher who accustom children to discipline. While the inhibiting factor is from associate friends, if there are children who are not discipline or break the rules, there are other children who copy.  Keywords: Learning Strategies, Discipline Character.

Abstract

AbstractQuality of education can not be separated from the condition of teachers as one element of education providers. Teachers have positions and roles that are very important and strategic in overall efforts to achieve the quality of education.This research generally aims to reveal the influence of principal leadership and organizational climate on the performance of SMK Rayon 2 teacher Sambas District.  Problems in this study as follows: 1) Does the leadership of the principal affect the performance of teachers in SMK Rayon 2 Sambas District? 2) Does the organizational climate affect the performance of teachers in SMK Rayon 2 Sambas District? 3) Does the principal's leadership and organizational climate affect jointly on teacher performance in SMK Rayon 2 Sambas District? The conclusions of this study are as follows: 1) the headmaster's leadership in SMK Rayon 2 Sambas is very good, 2) the organizational climate in SMK Rayon 2 Sambas Regency is good, 3) the performance of SMK Rayon 2 teacher Sambas District is quite good, 4) The headmaster significantly influenced the performance of SMK Rayon 2 teacher Sambas District, 5) the organizational climate significantly influenced the performance of SMK Rayon 2 teacher Sambas district, and 6) leadership of headmaster and organizational climate together significantly influence the performance of SMK Rayon 2 Sambas District. This study suggests that principals should understand the organizational climate because it is seen as the existence of an organization in schools that is formed from the interplay between attitudes and beliefs of parents who are in school and the relationships among individuals in the school to improve the performance of teachers. Keywords: Principal Leadership, Organizational Climate, Teacher Performance
