Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran speaking berbasis multimedia melalui pendekatan antropolinguistik. Pendekatan antropolinguistik mengombinasikan pembelajaran tuturan teks bahasa Inggris dalam pembelajaran speaking dengan ko-teks dan konteksnya. Hasil kuesioner, wawancara, dan tugas video merupakan data dalam penelitian ini. Data kuesioner diukur dengan menggunakan skala Likert. Untuk wawancara dan tugas video dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan antropolinguistik yang menganalisis performansi berdasarkan teks, ko-teks, dan konteksnya. Selanjutnya data dianalisis dengan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari kondensasi data, data display, dan verifikasi/simpulan. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menyukai pembelajaran speaking melalui penggunaan multimedia yang dikemas dalam bentuk tugas video karena mereka dapat langsung praktik menggunakan bahasa Inggris sekaligus dengan menggunakan ko-teks seperti gesture, intonasi, dan peralatan yang digunakan dalam berbicara  seperti penutur asli (native speaker). Selanjutnya untuk konteks, mahasiswa mampu menghadirkan situasi formal untuk scene interview dan situasi nonformal sebelum dan sesudah scene interview. Pembelajaran speaking dengan penggunaan multimedia (tugas video) efektif untuk diaplikasikan di Politeknik LP3I Medan karena dapat membantu dalam menghilangkan sikap negatif dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris serta memberikan pemahaman secara langsung mengenai tahapan dalam mempelajari suatu topik pembelajaran.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to classify the type of directive speech in Surah An-Nisa translation. The definition and meaning of the directive speech act by Searle (1979) was applied in this study to identify the directive speech in Surah An-Nisa’ translation. The data source was the text of Al-Quran Mushaf Utsmani with its translation in Bahasa Indonesia from the Ministry of Religion of Indonesia. The qualitative method was applied in this study. The data of this research were utterances originating from the text of the Al-Quran and their translation. The directive speech acts in Surah An-Nisa' consists of 176 verses as the object of study. The data collection technique used was document study. The data were analyzed by using Miles Huberman data analysis. The study results showed that there were six types of directive speech acts in Surah An-Nisa’. They were (1) directive speech acts of commanding, (2) prohibiting, (3) advises, (4) asking, (5) persuading, and (6) allowing.

Abstract

Education becomes a spear in developing the potency that exists in students both physically and spiritually.Besides increasing competence, interpersonal intelligence is an important thing to apply to the learning process. Learning is not always about values, but it can shape attitudes, so that later students can be intelligent, skilled and characterized citizens. Innovations that develop continuously that is begun from the industrial revolution 1.0 to 4.0, become challenges and opportunities for educators in developing the potentials of students in order to create competently, character and reliable graduates. The presence of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is known as the digital era is not only opens wide interactions but also disrupts various fields in human life. One of them is education. Therefore the role of interpersonal intelligence in schools is expected to be able to bridge the student’s  attitudes to be in accordance with the Qur'an and the Constitution 195 and can be integrated in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendiskusikan tentang performansi partisipasi pembelajaran bahasa (PPPB) di Politeknik LP3i Medan. Fokus penelitian adalah menemukan pola performansi partisipasi yang terdapat pada proses pembelajaran bahasa di kelas melalui konsep pendekatan antropolinguistik yang mencakup teks, ko-teks, dan konteks. Pola partisipasi yang ditemukan merupakan data penting yang dapat mendeskripsikan fenomena aktivitas bertutur dalam situasi yang dimaksud. Dengan ditemukannya pola tersebut, maka dapat diketahui bagaimana menerapkan model pengajaran dalam proses belajar mengajar yang efektif. Data penelitian adalah rekaman video, wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipasi. Metode etnografi yang dikemukakan oleh Spradley (1979, 1980) diaplikasikan dalam penelitian ini dari pengumpulan data hingga menganalisisnya. Teori partisipasi yang digunakan adalah tipe struktur partisipasi yang dikemukakan oleh Philips dan kerangka partisipasi menggunakan pendapat Goffman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa performansi partisipasi mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa adalah performansi partisipasi menguji, mengonfirmasi, dan mencari tahu. Performansi partisipasi menguji terdapat pada struktur partisipasi tipe I yaitu pada saat tugas presentasi, sedangkan performansi mengonfirmasi dan mencari tahu terdapat pada struktur partisipasi tipe IV yaitu pada saat tugas menulis.Temuan lainnya adalah bahwa terdapat pergeseran makna dari teks ujaran yang dikodekan dengan kalimat interogatif menjadi imperatif dikarenakan ujaran sangat berhubungan erat dengan niat (intension).  Kata kunci: Partisipasi, performansi, pembelajaran, Politeknik LP3i Medan

Abstract

Oral tradition appears in many forms such as pantoons, poetry, songs, plays, and pantoon. Some of them are sung in order to make the performer easier to memorize the lyric. In Simeulue island, Aceh province Indonesia, several oral tradition namely nandong, nanga-nanga, and nafi-nafi are performed through songs. This study focus on describing the meaning of nanga-nanga. It was described through meaning as representative mental and meaning as enaction which is explained by Foley (1997). The data were video-audio recording of nanga-nanga, interview, and observation. The result of study showed that nanga-nanga was performed to express feeling through a story. The meaning of nanga-nanga is the pouring of one’s heart. The performer sung nanga-nanga more to entertain him/herself.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to describe the process of translation of political advertisements from Alas language into Indonesian, to describe the problems of translating political advertisements from Alas language into Indonesian and to describe how the language style of Alas language in political advertisement persuaded the voters. The qualitative research was applied. The data were collected by using camera and text in the banners or pamphlets were rewritten on paper. There are seven data of political advertisement that used Alas language in election of year 2019. The writer translated the political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian by using Newmark procedure. The data were analyzed by using Larson’s Steps in a Translation Project that consists of: establishing the project, revised draft, consultation and final draft by attached the picture of the political advertisement in Alas language. The findings are: first, translation political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian deliberated morphology, cultural equivalent, and descriptive equivalent. Second, it used intimate style. Third, there are some similarities word in Alas language and Indonesian. Fourth, language style in political advertisement in Alas language used proverb and euphemism. As a result, translation political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian concern to cultural equivalent that the problems in translating political advertisement from Alas language into Indonesian related to the culture that covered explicit and implicit meaning and language style of political advertisement of Alas language used intimate style through proverb and euphemism.

Abstract

This research belongs to the type of linguistic research in the field of comparative historical linguistics with the aim of: see the kinship between the Acehnese language, Minangkabau language and Javanese language. This study uses quantitative methods with lexicostatistical and glotochronological data analysis. Data collection methods used in the form of interviews and listening and recording techniques. After doing research on Acehnese and Minangkabau language, 12 identical word pairs were found, 31 phonemic correspondence word pairs, 8 phonetically similar word pairs, 26 word pairs with 1 different phoneme so that 77 related word pairs were found and from the results of the percentage of kinship, which is 20% and is categorized in the level of language clumps (stock, Acehneseand the Minangkabau language began to split from a proto language between 1,814-1588 BC (counting from 2021). In Acehnese with Javanesefound 17 identical word pairs, 15 phonemic correspondence word pairs, 3 phonetically similar word pairs, 10 word pairs with 1 different phoneme so that 45 pairs of related words were found and from the results the percentage of kinship was 10% and categorized in the Minangkabau language microphylum level.and Javanese began to split from a proto-language between 3,473-3,242 BC (counting from 2021). Furthermore, the Minangkabau language with Javanese26 identical word pairs were found, 36 phonemic correspondence word pairs, 9 phonetically similar word pairs, 21 word pairs with 1 different phoneme so that 92 pairs of related words were found and the percentage of kinship percentage was 30% and categorized in the stock language level. Minangkabau languageand Javanese began to split from a proto-language between 847-693 BC (counting from 2021).

Abstract

This study aims to describe the lingual form of talkative speech spoken by caregivers at the Rantau Prapat City Orphanage, and identify the factors that cause the lingual form of talkative speech spoken by the caregivers at the Rantau City Orphanage. This study uses a qualitative approach from data taken from the words of the caretaker of the Putri Siti Khadijah Orphanage in the City of Rantau Prapat. This research was conducted at the location, namely Jl. Supratman No. 36 Rantau Prapat City, West Billa District, Labuhan Batu Regency, North Sumatra Province. The theory used in this research is psycholinguistics, stimulus-response, factors that cause talkativeness. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection used is the proficient method and the listening method with note and record techniques, and interview techniques that do not. The results found in this study were lingual forms of talkative behavior in the form of words and sentences, including: (1) Koprolalia (2) Ekolalia (3) Auto Ekolalia, and (4) Automatic Obidience.In this study, it was also found that the factors that caused the caretaker of the Putri Siti Khadijah Orphanage in Rantau Prapat City to behave in talkative speech. Factors consist of imitation, suggestion, identification, and sympathy.

Abstract

The empowerment community program aimed to describe the use of e-commerce as a strategy to increase the marketing of UMKM Queen and Burger Snack. The condition of drastic decline experienced by business partners during the COVID-19 pandemic situation had an impact on sales and income. Unpreparedness to face the changing situation from offline to online sales is also a major problem in running a business for the owners of Queen Burger and Snack. Therefore, the team of empowerment community program (ECP) did an effort to help increase marketing through e-commerce strategies. The solution provided by the ECP team was to prepare a forum in the form of a website to convey information to readers (consumers) about the products produced by Queen Burger and Snack. Other preparations include assisting and accompanying business partners for six months to strengthen the use of e-commerce strategies in product marketing and preparation at key sales locations in production houses.
