Abstract

This study deals with language acquisition which investigates the phonological acquisition of a child suffering from language delay. A case study design with cross-sectional survey type is used and it was conducted at Jl. Ujung Serdang, Komp. Cendana Asri No 21 Tanjung Morawa Medan, North Sumatera Indonesia, where a five year old child was chosen to be the subject. In collecting the data, this study applies documentation with audio visual recorder as the instrument of collecting data and the technique of data analysis used in this study was descriptive technique, then the data were described through the process of transcribing and reducing the data by the process of selecting, focusing, simplifying, transforming the transcripts of the data, then displaying the data and finally drawing the conclusions. The findings indicate that the subjects of this study who suffers from language delay in his five year old had mastered vocabularies covering noun, adjective, verb, and adverb, and the data show that he acquired more noun comparing to adjective, verb and adverb. In case of phonological acquisition, seven phonological processes were found: stopping process, fronting process, voicing process, clustering reduction process, deleting of final consonant process, deleting of unstressed process and reduplicating process. In expressing the language in his daily life, sometimes he used the body language to help him deliver the message.

Abstract

Abstrak Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran masyarakat serta sebagai mediator dalam menyelesaikan masalah penurunan hasil panen udang dan ketersediaan air bersih di Bumi Dipasena. Hasil panen udang masyarakat berada dibawah standar dan sangat jauh berbeda dibanding hasil panen perusahaan. Ketersediaan air bersih mengandalkan air hujan yang memiliki batas waktu layak pakai dan menjadi barang langka dimusim kemarau. Kedua permasalahan tersebut menjadi permasalahan utama dan belum terselesaikan selama bertahun-tahun. Banyak alasan yang menjadi penyebab tidak terselesaikannya masalah, mulai dari biaya, tidak adanya kolaborasi antar masyarakat, dan lain sebagainya. Oleh sebab itu, mereka membutuhkan solusi yang tidak hanya tepat guna namun dapat mengakomodasi kepentingan masyarakat. Maka, alternatif solusi permasalahan penurunan hasil panen udang yang disarankan adalah pengontrolan air tambak udang masyarakat dengan menggunakan sistem emulsi membran dan penyediaan air bersih menggunakan sistem ijuk. Kedua solusi tersebut diyakini dapat terealisasi karena terjangkau dari sisi biaya, sistem kontrol tidak kompleks, dan bahan dasar pembuatan sistem dihasilkan oleh masyarakat sendiri. Alasan tersebut menstimulus masyarakat untuk antusias dalam merespon kedua sistem yang ditawarkan dan menginginkan supaya sistem tersebut direalisasikan. Kata Kunci: Sistem Emulsi Membran; Sistem Ijuk Abstract This community service aims to increase people's understanding and awareness as well as a mediator in resolving the problem of decreasing shrimp yields and the availability of clean water on Bumi Dipasena. Community shrimp yields are below the standard and very much different from the company's harvest. The availability of clean water relies on rainwater which has a time limit for proper use and is a rare item in the dry season. Both of these problems have become major problems and have not been resolved for years. Many reasons are the cause of unresolved problems, starting from costs, the absence of collaboration between communities, and etc. Therefore, they need solutions that are not only effective but can accommodate the interests of the community. So, the alternative solution to the problem of decreasing shrimp yields suggested is the control of community shrimp farm water using a membrane emulsion system and the provision of clean water using a palm fiber system. The two solutions are believed to be realized because they are affordable in terms of costs, the control system is not complex, and the basic material for making the system is produced by the community itself. The reason stimulates the community to be enthusiastic in responding to the two systems offered and wants the system to be realized. Keywords: Membrane Emulsion System, Palm Fiber System

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dalam rangka Pembinaan Ketahanan Pernikahan dan Keharmonisan Keluarga dengan Tema “The Family Relationship and Intimacy” bekerjasama dengan Gereja HKBP Sutoyo Jakarta Timur. Kegiatan ini berawal dari adanya permintaan dari pengurus Gereja HKBP Sutoyo melalui seksi Pendidikan ke Universitas Kristen Indonesia Jakarta untuk memberikan edukasi kepada jemaat secara khusus untuk pasangan muda tentang bagaimana pentingnya menjaga dan membina hubungan keluarga yang sehat dan intim sehingga menjadi keluarga yang kokoh, utuh dan bahagia. Adapun sasaran kegiatan ini adalah keluarga yang terdiri dari pasangan suami dan istri dengan tujuan untuk membina ketahanan pernikahan dan keharmonisan keluarga melalui pendekatan ilmu kesehatan dan ilmu psikologis. Melalui ilmu kesehatan, pasangan suami istri diedukasi tentang “Keluarga Sejahtera dan Sehat Reproduksi”, sedangkan dari psikologis disampaikan bahwa “mengungkapkan perasaan secara terbuka kepada pasangan dan juga anggota keluarga yang lain merupakan salah satu wujud pengasuhan dengan cinta”. Peserta sosialisasi terdiri dari pasangan suami/istri dengan usia pernikahan 1 s.d 15 tahun. Para peserta sangat antusias mengikuti sosialisasi dan aktif pada saat sesi diskusi. Berbagai permasalahan dalam keluarga menjadi topik diskusi yang akhirnya sampai kepada pencarian solusi. Pihak Gereja HKBP Sutoyo yang diwakilkan oleh Pendeta menyatakan kepuasan dan ucapan terimakasih atas kegiatan yang dinilai sangat bermanfaat guna mencegah terjadinya ketidakharmonisan dalam keluarga jemaat yang berujung pada perceraian. Abstract Community service activities in the context of fostering marital endurance and family harmony with the theme "The Family Relationship and Intimacy" in collaboration with the HKBP Church, Sutoyo, East Jakarta. This activity originated from a request from the management of the Sutoyo HKBP Church through the Education section to the Indonesian Christian University in Jakarta to provide education to the congregation specifically for young couples about how important it is to maintain and foster healthy and intimate family relationships so as to become a strong, whole and happy family . The target of this activity is a family consisting of husband and wife couples with the aim of fostering marital endurance and family harmony through health science and psychological science approaches. Through health science, a married couple is educated about "Family Welfare and Reproductive Health", while psychologically speaking that "expressing feelings openly to the couple and also other family members is one form of caring with love". Participants in the socialization program consist of husband / wife couples with marriage age of 1 to 15 years. The participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the socialization and were active during the discussion session. Various problems in the family became the topic of discussion which finally reached the search for solutions. The Sutoyo HKBP Church, represented by the Pastor, expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the activities that were considered to be very useful in preventing disharmony in the congregation family that led to divorce. Abstract

Pendidikan seksual di kalangan remaja menjadi salah satu prioritas pendidikan. Banyaknya kasus remaja yang tersangkut hukum terkait seksualitas sudah harus segera ditangani, bahkan diantisipasi lebih awal. Universitas Kristen Indonesia sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang juga turut merasakan tanggungjawab mengambil langkah konkrit melalui Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dosen dalam melakukan edukasi dan sosialisasi tentang betapa pentingnya pendidikan tentang seksualitas di kalangan remaja. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan melibatkan berbagai stake holder, di antaranya kalangan remaja (yang dalam hal ini diwakili oleh para siswa-siswi sekolah menengah pertama/SMP dan sekolah menengah umum/SMU), para orangtua siswa, para guru dan staf di sekolah Teruna Muda Scholl, Jl Raya Ciangsana nomor 91, Ciangsana, Kec. Gunungputri, Kab. Bogor Prov. Jawa Barat. Hari pertama sosialisasi dan diskusi bersama dengan orangtua dengan topik “gaya komunikasi orangtua terhadap anak tentang seksual, adikksi pornografi di kalangan remaja dan bagaimana mengatasi adikksi pornografi bagi yang sudah terpapar melalui pendekatan psikologi”, diskusi berlangsung sangat serius, di mana di antara para orangtua saling berbagi cerita dan berbagi informasi tentang apa yang menjadi kebiasaan anak-anak mereka di rumah dan bagaimana mereka melakukan penanganan terhadap anak yang menunjukkan gejala pemahaman yang salah akan seksual. Hari ke dua sosialisasi kepada para siswa dilaksanakan di aula sekolah dengan topik “pembekalan kesehatan reproduksi remaja dan bahaya addiksi pornografi di kalangan remaja” Kata Kunci: seksual, pornografi, komunikasi, reproduksi

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 yang terjadi di seluruh dunia telah membuat perubahan dalam banyak hal di kehidupan masayarakat. Secara khusus di Indonesia, berita tentang maraknya penyebaran virus covid-19 mulai pada bulan Januari 2020 hingga akhirnya awal Maret pemerintah mengambil keputusan yang sangat sulit dengan mengeluarkan kebijakan Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB), di mana berbagai sektor terkhusus di bidang pendidikan diharapkan melaksanakan seluruh kegiatan secara online. Tidak terkecuali Perguruan Tinggi Universitas Kristen Indonesia turut mematuhi kebijakan yang dikeluarkan oleh pemerintah. Adanya rasa ketakutan yang mendalam pada masyarakat yang mendorong untuk menjaga diri dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan dan juga menjaga kebersihan dengan mencuci tangan atau menggunakan hand sanitizer membuat masyarakat secara khusus di Jakarta berlomba-lomba untuk memiliki antiseptik pencuci tangan karena dinilai efektif membunuh kuman atau virus. Sehingga persediaan antiseptik ini pun langka dan melambung tinggi. Kondisi ini menjadi perhatian Universitas Kristen Indonesia sebagai Perguruan Tinggi yang berkomitmen menjalankan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yang salah satunya adalah Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dan juga oleh dorongan kemanusiaan membantu pemerintah pada masa-masa sulit di saat pandemi covid-19, sehingga Universitas Kristen Indonesia melalui karya pengabdian para dosen di Prodi Pendidikan Kimia FKIP dan Fakultas Kedokteran bersama-sama dengan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) melaksanakan kegiatan “Aksi UKI Perduli Dalam Rangka Pncegahan Penyebaran Virus Covid-19”. Dalam kegiatan PkM ini para dosen bekerja di laboratorium dengan mematuhi protokol kesehatan dalam rangka membuat atau memproduksi hand sanitizer sesuai dengan standar World Health Organization (WHO), dan selanjutnya mendistribusikan produk tersebut ke masyarakat melalui puskesmas-puskesmas dan kelurahan-kelurahan yang ada di Jakarta Timur. Sebanyak 2000 botol kemasan 100 mL hand sanitizer diproduksi dan didistribusikan oleh Universitas Kristen Indonesia melalui dua tahapan waktu. Abstract

This study discusses forest protection through Sasi (Local Environmental Law) in Ambon island post-COVID-19. Sasi is a customary norm and rules and sanctions regarding the prohibition of taking plant or plant products, fish and game time before the time agreed and determined by community leaders and leaders together with community members. The main goal is to conserve natural resources, control and limit human greed in overexploiting natural resources. The research method used is a qualitative research method with normative legal research. The research was conducted at Universitas Kristen Indonesia from January to March 2021. The objects studied were documents either in reports or regulations related to indigenous peoples' local wisdom. The research instrument used was a document checklist. The data analysis technique used is the descriptive analysis technique. The research results are that traditional Sasi wisdom has values ??and norms to protect forests, water sources, annual plants, and food plants. With the concept and understanding of how environmental managements with various customary rules to obtain benefits and maintain the kinship value of area units that already have an identity and must continuously be maintained in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Online learning is an option to replace the face-to-face lecture system directly during the Covid-19 pandemic. This choice also coincides with the use of social media to support learning. This condition affects the critical thinking skills of students who are required to survive, adapt in order to attend lectures with the new system, students are required to be skilled in using social media, familiar with the online system so that they can keep up with all learning. This study aims to determine the correlation of critical thinking skills and the use of social media on learning outcomes in the online learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic. The policy of learning from home with online learning using social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube has become a policy set by the Universitas Kristen Indonesia for the implementation of lectures. This research uses a quantitative approach, with a correlation design conducted online to 254 students who are then analyzed using correlation analysis and multiple correlation analysis. The results showed that there was a positive correlation between (1) critical thinking with student learning outcomes (2) use of social media with student learning outcomes (3) critical thinking and use of social media with student learning outcomes means the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between critical thinking and use of social media with student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article is about the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students’ critical thinking, the purpose of which is to find out how PBL and students’ critical thinking are related. The study was conducted at Educational Administration / Management Study Program of Universitas Kristen Indonesia Jakarta. This article was developed through a library study making use of books, journals and other documents related to the topics as the source information. The result shows that the PBL improves the students’ critical thinking. PBL forms a teaching method that encourages the students to identify problems, explore interpretation, determine alternatives as solutions, communicate conclusions and integrate, monitore, as well as refine strategies to remedy the problems. It can be concluded that students will have good critical thinking, if they are taught using PBL. It is, therefore, recommended that lecturers apply this method in their teaching.

Abstract

This study is about implementing the higher education curriculum based on the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (INQF). It was done at Universitas Kristen Indonesia strictly in the English Language Education Study Program. This study aims to find out how the implementation of the higher education curriculum based on INQF is. The study method used was a qualitative study with a descriptive design. The data of the study were collected through interviews. The instrument of the study was the interview sheet. The informants of the study were the head of the Quality Assurance Agency of Universitas Kristen Indonesia, the head of the Faculty Quality Assurance Agency, and the lecturers of the English Language Education Study Program. The data taken through interviews were analyzed descriptively through transcribing the interview data, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The result of the study is that the implementation of the learned curriculum is found to be through applicable, simple, and appropriate syllabus content, adding new information, and achieving goals and objectives, according to curriculum planning and quality standards. However, it requires improvement in certain parts of the curriculum implementation that some of the lecturers did not adjust the INQF-Based curriculum into the course they taught. Then it is concluded that although the INQF-Based curriculum has been structurally and well organized, it needs to be implemented by the whole lecturers in their learning and teaching. These findings suggest to the leadership of the University through the Quality Assurance Agency to control the implementation of the curriculum both at the Study Program level and at the lecturer level in carrying out the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This study discussed the pre-service EFL teachers' teaching implementation, and it was done to find out how the implementation of the Pre-service EFL teaching implementation was. This research was done at 3 Private Junior High schools in East Medan, in Pancing, Medan. The respondents of the study were 76 students who were chosen using the quota sampling technique. The instrument of the study used was a set of questionnaires that consisted of 25 statements items. The result of the study is that students were agreed with the Pre-service EFL teachers' teaching level quality (3.39), teaching level appropriateness (3.31), motivation and reward (3.22), and teaching time management (3.48). It is concluded that the Pre-service teachers' teaching implementation is at a moderate level.
