Abstract

The smallholder-private forests initially developed through various catalysts, particularly the government's greening program. The various functions of smallholder-private forests in economic, social, and environmental life has encouraged the forests as an integral part of community life. This condition is termed as a status of adjusted to each other (couple state) between the forests and community life. The couple state needs to be studied to help in improving community lives through the development of smallholder-private forests. A systems approach is required in learning the couple state. The main topic of research was the system’s coupling between smallholder-private forest systems and livelihood systems. The degree of the system’s coupling was measured using the value of the coupling coefficient (R). This study aimed to determine the degrees of coupling in three main farmer livelihoods. The study began by developing the causal loop diagram (CLD) of the coupling of the two systems. Samples of 72 head of the family that work as full farmers, part-time farmers, and non-farmers were taken purposively in Semoyo Village, Gunungkidul Regency. Data of farmers conditions were obtained through interviews by using questionnaires, and the conditions of smallholder-private forests were obtained through tree measurements. The results found that there was a dynamic coupling of the community forest system with community life in the three main livelihoods studied. The highest order of coupling degrees was full-time farmers, part-time farmers, and non-farmers, respectively. The difference in degrees of coupling in the three main livelihoods can be used as a basis for stakeholder intervention in formulating regulations, policies, and coaching to improve the quality of life of the community. Abstract

Pengelolaan hutan produksi selalu harus memperhatikan pengaturan hasil yang tepat. Pengaturan hasil yang tepat akan dapat menjamin kelestarian hasil hutan. Agar dapat dilakukan perencanaan pengaturan hasil dengan tepat, maka diperlukan pengetahuan tentang kemampuan tumbuh hutan tersebut. Demikian juga hutan untuk produksi daun kayu putih. Penelitian ini akan mencari model prediksi pertumbuhan daun kayu putih dan menentukan umur optimal produksi daun. Data dikumpulkan dengan mengambil 140 sampel pohon model yang dipilih secara purposive pada empat macam umur yaitu 5, 10, 15 dan 36 tahun. Variabel bebas yang dilibatkan dalam model adalah umur. Terdapat lima model non linear yang dianalisis untuk dipilih yang terbaik. Penilaian ketepatan model menggunakan uji F, t, R2, SeR dan validasi model menggunakan bias, SA dan SR. Penelitian ini mendapatka bahwa model prediksi produksi daun kayu putih yang terbaik adalah Ln Produksi daun = -1,286 + 2,081 ln Umur – 0,356 (ln Umur)2 dan umur optimal yang merupakan umur saatnya tanaman diremajakan adalah 19 tahun. Abstract

Teak is a high value wood. The tree trunk has a high economic value because it provides multipurpose wood products. Tree trunks have distinctive biometric characteristics, including teak trunks. The biometric characteristic of a tree species is a problem in the science of forest planning, because the growth of tree trunks is influenced by many factors, including differences in age, location and site. This research will be arranged biometric model of teak tree that grows in Batulanteh Forest Management Unit, beginning with collecting physical data of tree through measurement of tree dimension. This study uses 75 sample trees grown in the Batulanteh Forest Management Unit area. The data used were tested outlier with boxplot method and calculated ratio and correlation. The regression equation was done by using SPSS version 23 program. Different ratios between tree dimensions at different ages were tested using complete randomized design. The results of this study indicate that the growth model of base diameter, diameter at breast height, and total height are characteristic of trees that are highly correlated with other tree biometrics characteristics. So in the management of teak forests Batulanteh Forest Management Unit can make these three characteristics as a reference in looking at the characteristics of other trees. The results also show the ratio Dp / Dbh, Tt / Dbh still fluctuate throughout the age of 10 to 22 years. Keywords : Teak, growth model, inter-dimensional ratio, age

Abstract

The aim of this research is to define rotation of optimal volume production of teak private smallholder forest. Sample of trees were taken by using purposive sampling method in cutting activity area. Seventy trees have choosen by diameter distribution, healthy and straigh stem. Every sample trees were measured with stem analysis method. Rotation of maximum volume production define by growth curve, mean annual increament (MAI) and current annual increament (CAI) curve. The result show that height youth stage begin 2 until 6 year, diameter youth stage begin 3 until 10 year, volume youth stage begin 4 until 25 year and rotation of maximum volume production is 25 year. Abstract

Pohon di luar kawasan hutan memiliki nilai ekonomi, sosial dan lingkungan yang signifikan serta merupakan bagian integral dari ekosistem yang harus diperhitungkan dalam pendekatan pengelolaan hutan berbasis ekosistem. Informasi tentang pohon di luar kawasan hutan sangatlah spesifik berdasar tapaknya. Salah satu lahan yang dimanfaatkan untuk menanam pohon di luar kawasan hutan adalah pekarangan. Keragaan pekarangan antara lain dapat dilihat dari struktur tegakan dan komposisi jenisnya. Struktur tegakan yang dicermikan oleh distribusi diameter pohon dapat digambarkan dalam model matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui komposisi jenis dan pola distribusi diameter pohon pada lahan < 5000 m2. Pola distribusi ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menilai ketersediaan regenerasi dan membantu mengarahkan pengelolaan lahannya. Luas lahan dibagi menjadi 3 kategori yaitu luas < 1.000 m2 ; luas 1.000-2000 m2 dan luas 2.000-5000 m2. Masing-masing kategori luas diambil 4 sampel pekarangan. Inventarisasi dilakukan 100 % terhadap pepohonan yang ada di lahan. Analisis model distribusi diameter menggunakan model eksponensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi jenis kayu pekarangan merupakan kekayaan biodiversitas, yang menyimpan spesies berkayu dari 20 famili, sehingga turut menjaga biodiversitas. Distribusi diameter berbentuk model eksponensial. Kurva model eksponensial menyerupai pola distribusi diameter pada hutan alam yaitu berbentuk J terbalik, yang menunjukkan kondisi populasi stabil atau status regenerasi yang baik. Kondisi itu dapat menopang kelestarian asalkan tetap dijaga pengaturan tebangan dan dilakukan perlakuan silvikultur yang sesuai dengan kondisi pohon, lahan, ketersediaan tenaga kerja serta biaya.
