Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimal dosage of bottom ash and organic matter which can increase the growth and yield of mustard plants. The study was carried out in the greenhouse of the Soil Physics Laboratory, Balai Penelitian Tanah, Laladon, Bogor from August 2015 to January 2016. The study used factorial complete randomized design (CRD). The first factor is the age of bottom ash (fresh, 4 months and 2 years). The second factor is the bottom ash dose with three levels, which are 0, 60 and 120 grams / pot (equivalent to 0, 40 and 80 tons / ha) and the third factor is the dose of organic matter with two levels, namely 0 and 15 grams / pot (equivalent to 0 and 10 tons / ha). The results showed that the addition of fresh bottom ash with a dose of 80 tons / ha and 10 tons / ha of organic matter significantly affected the plant height. While on the parameters of the number of leaves and fresh weight of mustard plant, the treatment that gives a significant effect is 10 tons / ha of organic matter. The best dose that can increase the growth and yield of mustard plants is fresh bottom ash with a dose of 80 tons / ha and 10 tons / ha of organic matter.

Abstract

Coal bottom ash and cattle manure can be used as soil ameliorant. The application of coal bottom ash and cattle manure can improve the soil chemical properties, such as pH and the amounts of available nutrients in soil. The objective of the study was to understand the effect of coal bottom ash and cow manure application on soil chemical properties and heavy metal contents in soil and mustard (Brassica juncea).  A pot experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, including three treatment factors, i.e. age of coal bottom ash (fresh, 4 months and 2 years), dose of coal bottom ash, i.e. 0, 40 and 80 Mg ha-1, and dose of cattle manure, i.e. 0 and 10 Mg ha-1. The results show that the application of coal bottom ash and cattle manure increased the pH and the amounts of total-N, available-P and exchangeable cations (K, Ca and Mg) of the soil. The application of coal bottom ash increased the amounts of Pb, Cd and Co in the soil, but did not increase the amounts of Pb and Co in mustard, while the application of cattle manure increased the amount of Cd both in soil and mustard.  Keywords: Coal bottom ash, cattle manure, heavy metal, mustard, soil ameliorant

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of Globba leucantha plant flowering to the provision of water and NPK  fertilizer. The study was conducted for 3 months September until November 2020 in a screen house located in the Dayeuhluhur sub-district, Cilacap district, Central Java. The method used was a single factor randomized design of 12 treatments repeated 3 times consisting of water and NPK  fertilizer: 100%  Crop Water Consumption (CWC) without fertilizer; 100% CWC fertilizer + 2 grams / plant; 100% CWC  fertilizer + 4 grams / plant; 80% CWC without fertilizer; 40% CWC + fertilizer 2 grams / plant; 80% CWC + fertilizer 4 grams / plant ; 60% CWC without fertilizer; 60% CWC+ fertilizer 2 grams / plant; 60% CWC + fertilizer 4 grams / plant; 40% CWC without fertilizer; 40% CWC + fertilizer 2 grams / plant; 40% CWC + fertilizer 4 grams / plant.  The results showed that the volume treatment of water and NPK fertilizer had no significant effect on the length of the panicles and the number of flowers per panicle produced.

Abstract

Abstrak: Permasalahan mengenai limbah selalu menjadi topik yang tidak pernah selesai. Salah satu permasalahan tentang limbah adalah proses pengelolaan limbah tersebut. Beberapa limbah seperti limbah B3 akan berbahaya jika dibuang ke alam tanpa adanya proses pengolahan yang lebih lanjut. Salah satu limbah B3 adalah limbah oli bekas, limbah ini cukup sulit untuk diurai secara alami oleh lingkungan. Sehingga salah satu cara mengatasi permasalahan limbah oli bekas adalah dengan memanfaatkannya sebagai bahan bakar alternatif. Tujuannya adalah melakukan penerapan teknologi tepat guna berupa alat burner dan mesin pencetak briket dari abu arang batok kelapa sehingga terjadi efektivitas dan peningkatan nilai tambah pada UMKM Arang Batok Jaya. Metode yang dilakukan adalah pelatihan dalam penggunaan teknologi alat burner ini kepada mitra dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah tercapainya tujuan dalam penerapan teknologi tepat guna alat burner dan mesin pencetak briket yang dapat dilihat dari kenaikan tingkat produktivitas UMKM Arang Batok Jaya.Abstract: The problem of waste has always been a topic that has never been solved. One of the problems regarding waste is the process of managing the waste. Some wastes such as B3 waste will be dangerous if they are disposed of in nature without any further processing. One of the B3 wastes is oil waste, where this waste is quite difficult to be decomposed naturally by the environment. So the way to overcome the problem of used oil waste is to use it as an alternative fuel. The goal is to apply appropriate technology in the form of burner tools and briquette printing machines from coconut shell charcoal ash so there is effectiveness and increased added value for SMEs Charcoal Batok Jaya. The method used is training in the use of this burner tool technology to partners in this activity. The result of this activity is the achievement of goals in the application of appropriate technology for burners and briquette printing machines which can be seen from the increase in the productivity of MSME Charcoal Batok Jaya.

Abstract

Pengembangan budidaya tanaman hortikultura di dataran rendah semakin dikembangkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sayuran dipasaran, akan tetapi timbul permasalahan pada budidaya kubis bunga dataran rendah yaitu pemilihan varietas yang tepat sehingga dapat meningkatkan produksi tanaman kubis bunga. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan informasi mengenai budidaya tanaman kubis bunga di dataran rendah Kabupaten Karawang, tepatnya di Desa Sukamerta Kecamatan Rawamerta. Target yang ingin dicapai dari kegiatan ini adalah agar kelompok tani dapat memperoleh pengetahuan dan informasi mengenai pengembangan budidaya kubis bunga yang diawali dengan penelitian mengenai beberapa varietas kubis bunga dan umur pembibitan yang berbeda serta pengaruhnya terhadap produksi kubis bunga. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui penyuluhan dan diskusi mengenai hasil penelitian kubis bunga yang dilakukan oleh tim Dosen serta aplikasinya di lapangan. Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh UPTD, PPL, ketua dan anggota kelompok tani hortikultura Sabanajaya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan perlakuan beberapa macam pupuk organik yang terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil Tanaman Selada (Lactuca sativa L.) varietas grand rapids pada sistem vertikultur. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Rengasdengklok Selatan, Kecamatan Rengasdengklok, Kabupaten Karawang pada bulan April sampai Juni 2021. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktor tunggal yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan, yaitu A (Kontrol), B (Tanah + Pupuk Kandang Ayam), C (Tanah + Pupuk Kandang Kambing), D (Tanah + Pupuk Kandang Sapi), E (Tanah + Pupuk Kascing) dan F (Tanah + Kompos Sayuran). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh nyata perlakuan F (Tanah + Pupuk Kascing) beberapa macam pupuk organik terhadap rerata tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, panjang akar, bobot segar pertanaman, bobot segar pertalang dan bobot segar perhektar.

Abstract

Curly chili (Capsicum annuum L.) is included in the horticultural plant group of fruit vegetables that have high economic value. The development of curly chili aims to increase the productivity of chili plants. One of the efforts to increase the production of chili plants by cultivating the land properly so that soil fertility is maintained, one of them is with proper fertilization. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of growth of curly chili plants to the addition of detergent water waste and tofu waste liquid waste. The research was carried out from February 2021 to June 2021, in Sukaluyu Village, Telukjambe Timur District, Karawang. The research method used is factorial randomized block design (RAK), the first factor is detergent water waste (P) consisting of 3 levels: P0 (0%), P1 (25%), P2 (50%) and the second factor is tofu waste liquid waste. (A) consists of 3 levels: A0 (0%), A1 (10%), A2 (20%). There were 9 treatments with 3 replications so there were 27 experimental units. The results showed that there was no interaction between the addition of detergent water waste and tofus waste liquid waste on the growth of curly chili (Capsicum annuum L.). In addition, there was no concentration of detergent water waste and tofu waste liquid waste which gave optimal results on the growth of curly chili (Capsicum annuum L.).

Abstract

The research was carried out at the Screen House of the new land of UNSIKA, Pasir Jengkol Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency, from October 2020 to March 2021. The design used was a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications, namely A (cocopeat with paper sludge organic fertilizer 1:0), B (husk charcoal with paper sludge organic fertilizer 1:0), C (cocopeat with paper sludge organic fertilizer 3:1), D (husk charcoal with paper sludge organic fertilizer 3:1 ), E (cocopeat 1:1 organic fertilizer paper sludge), F (husk charcoal 1:1 organic fertilizer paper sludge) so that there were 24 experimental units. The results showed that the addition of organic planting media and organic sludge fertilizer had a significant effect on mustard plants aged 4 weeks after planting, with a plant height of 30.32 cm in treatment D. Meanwhile, on the observation of leaf area, the addition of planting media in organic sludge fertilizer had a significant effect on mustard plants with an area of ​​447.725 in treatment F. The combination of organic growing media and organic sludge fertilizer gave a significant effect on root length of 30.05 cm in treatment F. Organic planting media and sludge fertilizer had a significant effect on wet weight 1055.75 grams and the wet weight without roots is 93.75 grams.

Abstract

The research was carried out in the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Singaperbangsa Karawang University, which is located in Pasirjengkol Village, Majalaya District, Karawang Regency, West Java Province. The research method with a single factor Randomized Block Design (RBD). There were 10 treatmet combinations and repeated 3 times. The result of this experiment showed that the combination of paper sludge waste organic fertilizer and nitrogen fertilizer had a significant effect on growth components (plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, and root length). The highest yield on plant height was the combination of C (3 ton/ha organic fertilizer waste paper sludge + 100 kg/ha of nitrogen fertilizer) of 12.67 cm, the number of leaves in combination C (3 ton/ha organic fertilizer waste paper sludge + 100 kg/ha of nitrogen fertilizer) amounted to 12.08 strands, and leaf area on a combination of C (3 ton/ha organic fertilizer waste paper sludge + 100 kg/ha nitrogen fertilizer) of 51.75 cm2.
