Abstract

Economic growth has accelerated in recent years. Company owners’ tactic was to used social media as a bridge to reach out to customers. A brand gains who gains consumers would attempt to establish a relationship with them and also gain their commitment. This is referred to as consumer loyalty. This loyalty was very critical to the brand’s long term sustainability and growth. Customers’ satisfaction can be used to gain customer loyalty. The aim of this study was to examine H&M's use of Twitter as a social networking platform for building consumer loyalty. The study was carried out using the netnography approach, in which data was gathered by observation on Twitter. The netnography approach is an ethnographic method that combines the use of internet with ethnography. The findings in this research conclude that games and interaction will undoubtedly be required to capture customers' interest and generate their loyalty.

Abstract

Content marketing has become an essential part of any social media marketing strategy. However, the effectiveness of a content marketing strategy through social media will be determined by its alignment with the prevailing communication model. This study aims to analyze the communication model that takes place in the marketing of educational content regarding the health of Indonesian women's skin on Instagram @ hi.flawless and determine the effectiveness of the content marketing based on the communication model that occurs. This study uses a qualitative approach with a netnographic method. Data collection methods are through observation and interviews, while data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions analysis methods. This research shows that the communication model that occurs is Schramm's interactional communication model which can then be further developed into a multistep non-linear communication model and advanced web communication. The use of Indonesian women's skin health education as content for marketing on Instagram @ hi.flawless is known to be in line with the prevailing and effective communication model to be implemented, seen from the relatively high level of consumer involvement and the increase in sales that have occurred. Abstract

Technological progress in the field of robotics is something that is idolized in homeland. Robotics often appears along with the tendency of the Japan which is popular with futuristic technology. Indonesia is affected by Japan's tokusatsu shows because we ourselves are still lagging behind in the fields of technology and culture. The era of Japanese colonialism towards Indonesia over the past 3.5 years seemed to reincarnate into cultural imperialism, one of which can be listened to through the Marjan syrup ads version of "Wayang (puppet) Golek Cepot Dawala". Researchers used Teun A. Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis method that discusses microstructure, macro structure, and social context based on visual elements of images and sounds. In the structure of the text, researchers found a friction between traditional Indonesian culture and modern Japanese robotics and a shift in traditional culture that is now beginning to be replaced by modern culture among young people. Cognition and the social context that appears in ads portraying Indonesian traditional culture could not survive if it did not adopt modern Japanese robotic culture, even if the meaning of the traditional culture changes considerably and further accentuates the modern culture.

Abstract

Instagram is one of the popular social media companies used as a medium for brand communication. Instagram has a role in reaching the company's target audience more widely and unlimitedly. One company which uses Instagram as a medium in the brand communication strategy is GoKampus. GoKampus is a new application-based company where the target audience is the majority of Instagram users. This research was conducted to discover how GoKampus optimizes Instagram in the form of video content created as an effort to introduce their brand to Instagram users who are their target audiences. This study uses a qualitative content analysis method by analyzing the content on four series of videos on the @gokampusofficial Instagram account. The study focuses on four categories of video content, specifically 1) message content explaining the Instant Approval feature, 2) message content explaining the GoKampus brand identity, 3) written captions, and 4) the number of viewers and comments. The results show that the series of video content having been created was able to create brand awareness of the GoKampus; however, it was not optimal enough in building brand engagement from its followers. Therefore, this can be examined from the small number of comments and the number of viewers.

Abstract

The Garnier green beauty campaign conveys a message to the public through advertising media. The message is conveyed to the public regarding environmental activities that have a sustainable meaning. The green beauty campaign through advertising media shows Garnier's environmental friendly actions. Cause consumer behavior that turns into a form of responsible attitude. The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of the sustainability of the green beauty campaign through Garnier's cosmetic advertising media. Researchers used a qualitative approach with Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis method which was signifier and signified. Methods of data collection with the method of documentation. The object of research was through the green beauty campaign advertisement and the subject of Garnier. The one-minute green beauty campaign ad is divided into seven scenes. The results of this study found the meaning of sustainability, by taking real action to become green beauty. Being green beauty is explained through verbal and non-verbal signs. Marked by each scene of the Garnier green beauty campaign advertisement, the meaning of sustainability is found. The real action starts from the production process to processing Garnier cosmetic waste.Kampanye Garnier green beauty menyampaikan pesan kepada masyarakat melalui media iklan. Pesan yang disampaikan kepada khalayak mengenai kegiatan peduli lingkungan yang memiliki makna berkesinambungan. Kampanye green beauty melalui media iklan menunjukan aksi nyata Garnier yang ramah lingkungan. Menyebabkan perilaku konsumen yang berubah menjadi wujud sikap yang bertanggung jawab. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui makna kesinambungan dari kampanye green beauty melalui media iklan kosmetik Garnier. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure secara signifier dan signified. Metode pengumpulan data dengan metode dokumentasi. Objek penelitian melalui iklan kampanye green beauty dan subjek Garnier. Iklan kampanye green beauty yang berdurasi satu menit dibagi menjadi tujuh scene. Hasil Penelitian ini menemukan makna kesinambungan, dengan melakukan aksi nyata menjadi green beauty. Menjadi green beauty dijelaskan melalui tanda secara verbal dan non verbal. Ditandai melalui setiap scene iklan kampanye Garnier green beauty memiliki makna kesinambungan yang ditemukan. Aksi nyata dimulai dari proses produksi sampai pengolahan limbah kosmetik Garnier.

This study used a netnographic approach to examine H&M's marketing strategy for building consumer loyalty through the use of social media, specifically Twitter. The netnography approach is an ethnographic method that combines the use of internet with ethnography. The data for this analysis was gathered by reprocessing H&M post data obtained via Twitter. The findings in this research conclude that games and interaction will undoubtedly be required to capture customers' interest and generate their loyalty.  Essentially, consumers' willingness to be in touch with a company decides whether or not they want to give commitment. This commitment will determine the customers’ loyalty by their behaviour in purchase continuously. As a result, it's possible to reduce those customers has chosen to make H&M brand their first preference which show a sign of customers’ loyalty.

Abstract

Many new brands are starting to enter the coffee business, one of which is Point Coffee. The emergence of a new coffee shop makes every business person compete to create an attractive brand image and unit to attract consumers' attention. Many coffee choices provide an alternative to buyers in determining purchasing decisions for the products to be used. Marketing is one way to increase product purchases, viz. In marketing, Point Coffee uses Instagram @pointcoffeeid. This article discusses how Point Coffee's digital communication strategy is implemented in @pointcoffeeid's Instagram post feed. This study analyses the Point Coffee digital communication strategy applied to the Instagram @pointcoffeeid Inpost Feed. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using netnographic methods. This analysis was carried out on Instagram content as a data source. The primary data in this study is the post feed content with 155 posts on the @pointcoffeeid Instagram feed. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that Point Coffee carried out a digital communication strategy with awareness campaigns, promotions, collaborations, user-generated content campaigns, and product information. Point Coffee applies a photo posting strategy with a carousel. It is used to collaborate with existing strategies so that Point Coffee ensures product sales so that it can increase awareness and interaction between followers and the @pointcoffeid account.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of communication technology makes a new form of persona management strategies. Facebook is one of social media, which can make the borders of public persona and private persona to be blurred and invisible. This research aims to explore the persona management in pseudonym practice through psychoanalysis approach by Japanese popular culture’s fans on Facebook by separating their personas in RL (Real Life) account and fannish account. This research is a qualitative research and using constructivism paradigm. Data collection was obtained by unstructured interviews submitted to two Facebook users. The data is then processed and analyzed interpretively. Study found that the main motive of fans using pseudonimity in social media is to avoid the stereotype threats from their real-life society. Virtual ethnography methods are also used which depart from virtual participatory observation methods for pseudonym accounts and participant RL accounts Study also found that there’s a new form of persona management strategies by using social media’s technology features such as blocking, unfriend-ing, and using privacy setting feature, and the other strategies. So, their persona is public yet private towards some audience. Keywords; fandom, persona, pseudonym, fans, popular culture. ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi menciptakan bentuk baru dari strategi manajemen persona. Facebook adalah salah satu media sosial yang dapat membuat batasan sehingga persona publik dan privat menjadi kabur dan tidak terlihat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi manajemen persona dalam praktik pseudonim melalui pendekatan psikoanalisis yang dilakukan para fans budaya populer Jepang yang melakukan pemisahan persona mereka di akun RL (Real Life) dan akun fans. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan paradigma konstruksivisme. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan wawancara tidak terstruktur yang diajukan kepada dua orang pengguna Facebook. Data kemudian diolah dan dianalisis secara interpretif. Metode virtual ethnography juga digunakan yang berangkat dari metode observasi partisipatif secara virtual untuk akun pseudonim dan akun RL partisipan. Temuan studi menunjukan terdapat motif utama dari fans yang menggunakan pseudonim dalam media sosial yaitu untuk menghindari ancaman stereotype dari kehidupan sosial yang nyata. Studi juga menemukan adanya bentuk baru dari strategi manajemen persona dengan menggunakan fitur teknologi sosial media seperti blocking, unfriend-ing, privacy setting dan lainnya. Dengan demikian persona mereka bersifat publik karena disebarluaskan melalui media sosial namun tetap bersifat pribadi dalam hubungannya dengan pengguna media sosial lainnya.
