Abstract

Measurement of supply chain sustainability in the footwear industry is limited to measurements on craftsmen as footwear makers in the District and City of Bogor. The purpose of this study was to obtain a footwear industry supply chain sustainability index in the District and City of Bogor as an industrial centre in the West Java region. The method approach taken was Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) using Rapfish software. This study analyzed three dimensions, namely economic, social and environment. The indicators used for the economic dimension were net profit, sales targets, production capacity, labour income, product quality, market access, investment for the environmental improvement, research and technology development. Indicators measured for the social dimension were employment opportunities for the local workers, human reource skills, easiness access to health, use of equipment, work safety, workplace quality, air quality of production rooms, workforce training, number of products returned, and certification in the social field. On the environmental dimension, the indicators measured were the reduction in the amount of energy used, the use of environmentally friendly materials, the level of waste management, measurement and reduction of emissions produced, certification in the environmental field, use of materials from local suppliers. The results of measurement of the footwear industry sustainability indexes were less sustainable for the economic and social dimensions, whereas for the environment dimension indexed was not sustainable. In leverage analysis, indicators that influenced to increase the index for the economic dimension were market access and labour income, the social dimension were the quality of the production room air and the use of safety equipment, and the environmental dimension were the level of waste management, measurement and emission reduction. Abstract

PT Agricon is an agrochemicals organization. Hence, as an organization, it needs to have a high quality resources in order to produce a good performance. One of the signs of high quality resources is if the human resources of the organization has extra-role behavior. The extra-role expected by the organization is Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). This study aims to determine the effect of cohesiveness and job satisfaction of PT Agricon’s employees to OCB. This study used convenience sampling as sample selection technique and questionnaires is distributed to 120 respondents. Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis is used to analyze effect of cohesiveness and job satisfaction on OCB. The results show that the cohesiveness obtained by PT Agricon comes from the ATGS (Attraction to The Group Task) dimension, job satisfaction comes from the satisfaction dimension of the work itself and the OCB is comes from the civic virtue dimension. Meanwhile, the results of the analysis shows that cohesiveness and job satisfaction give positive effect on OCB at PT Agricon.

Abstract

The constant change and rapid growth of the business world could create turbulence in a business organization, therefore, the business professionals have to continuously increase their skill and ability to be able to maintain the existence and even improve the condition of their business in this highly competitive world. A company would reach its optimal performance when there is an alignment between its business organization and the surrounding environment filled with no strategic gap. If good strategic planning is already in place, then the other crucial aspect to be analyzed would be the external factors outside an organization. The purpose of this is to measure and understand the behaviors and effects of those external factors towards the company through threats as well as opportunities. There are five level of environment turbulence: Repetitive, Expanding, Changing, Discontinuous and Suprising. The case study in this research concludes that all seven petrochemical companies have done a consistent and continuous strategic planning. The environment turbulence level is on two grades, Expanding and Changing, however, the most dominant is Expanding. The avarage score calculation also showing the same result, Expanding.

Abstract

Leadership is a phenomenon of society, nation, and state which influence and characterize the life of society, nation, and state. Leadership is also one of all functions which can push both the realization of national ideas and national objectives, and national security and defense system. This research seeks for a strategic leadership model which can be implemented in all provinces in Indonesia, and which will influence all of provincial leaders, especially governors, in order to improve the strength of the National Security System (NSS). The collected quantitative and qualitative data were selected and analized descriptively and analitically by the use of descriptive analysis and multivariate regression, to meet the objective of this research. The result of this study shows that the leadership of a governor has a significant and positive influence upon national security and defense system and, therefore, it maybe concluded that a strong leadership of a governor will provide his local area with positive effect, namely, there will be an establishment of a strong and realiable system of national security and defense.   Keywords: Leadership, Province, Governor, National Security and Defense System, Multivariate Regression

Abstract

The key factors of successful information technology outsourcing are the procurement process of the professional and trusted provider, the contract that guarantees a committed implementation of outsourcing as agreed priorly, the implementation of outsourcing that fulfils the approved grade of quality as service level agreement, the provider’s capabilities as listed in the requirement of the procurement process, and the implementation itself. Those key factors are the subjects of study, which results are applicable as the basic policy in developing a premium IT services through the outsourcing system. The case study was conducted in the Bank Indonesia, whether research approach is the combination of explorative, descriptive and explanator. Analysis endogenous and exogenous variables’ll be using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The recommendation is formulated according to the result of SEM analysis. Result of the study stated that Structural Model 3 is the perfect fit model. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the influence of organizational leadership behaviors and environmental turbulence moderator on employee retention. A survey was used to collect data from various publicly listed companies in the Greater Area of Jakarta. The survey measured the perceptions on organizational leadership behaviors and business environmental turbulence. The survey questionnaire on organizational leadership behaviors was from Yukl’s model and the questionnaire on environmental turbulence was from Ansoff’s model. Fifty two questionnaires were collected by using purposive sampling technique. The Moderated Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was used for analyzing the data. The results showed that the Relations Oriented Behaviors was found to have significant positive relationship with the Employee Retention. The Environmental Turbulence significantly moderated the Relations Oriented Behaviors and affected the Employee Retention positively.   Keywords: Organizational Leadership, Environmental Turbulence, Employee Retention

Abstract

This study was designed to extend the Hersey and Blanchard's Situational Leadership Model to test the match of adaptability leadership style to the maturity level of subordinates using the LEAD-Self instrument and Readiness Scale of the Center for Leadership Studies. Maturity level of subordinate was analyzed based on the maturity level of employment (ability) and psychological maturity (willingness) to given work to subordinates. Also, to test compatibility with the leadership style with desired subordinates leadership style using LEAD-Other instrument. Leadership style is a combination of task behavior and behavioral relationships that will produce a directing coaching, participating delegating style. In addition, this study also tested the suitability of the existing organizational culture with the expectation organization culture. Effective matching leadership style and organizational culture is measured by the achievement of individual performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of matching between leadership style with the follower’s readiness level (X1), the leader's perceived leadership style with leader’s desired leadership style (X2), and the existing organizational culture with the expectation’s employees (X3) on the individual performance (Y1). The object of research was conducted at PT. Abstract

The objectives of the research were to understand indicators of business sustainability tourism from stakeholders’ perspectives in relation to 3P (People, Planet, Profit), to understand how the concept of sustainability is operationalized in the Pancawati group in relation to 3P (People, Planet, Profit), and to map the value chain of Lembur Pancawati as the case in Ecotourism in Bogor. The methodology used was qualitative descriptive practice-oriented business research with single case study. Based on the stakeholder analysis in Bogor tourism, the indicators of sustainable business in tourism are: (i) Involvement from local people, (ii) Preservation of nature and local culture, (iii) Availability of nature Education program, (iv) Strong commitment from business owner/leader, (v) Sufficient capital to support the initial business establishment, (vi) Availability of various networks. The operationalization in Pancawati Group was observed to have item i, iii, and iv partially implemented and the rest was fully implemented. The position of Pancawati Group in value chain was as main firm, as it acted as multiple actors in the chain. In order to have all indicators implemented, it was suggested to have public private partnership in place.Keywords: Sustainable Tourism, Value Chain, Qualitative Methods

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research analyzed the sustainability of culinary tourism in Puncak, comprising the strategic issues review, and comparing its sustainability aspects to the existing culinary enterprises. This study employed a qualitative-descriptive analysis method in three cases: a large-scale Cimory Restaurant, a medium-scale restaurant/café Melrimba Garden, and small-scaled street hawkers in At-Ta'awun rest area. In general, the value chain was categorized into five major band based on their function: Food Service Business; Suppliers (local community, traders, cooperatives); End user (tourists and customers); Governance (government, areal coordinator, Kompepar); and Intermediaries (distributors, tour agents). There were at least five strategic issues that emerged in the tourism development in Puncak area: 1) land function conversion. 2) Economic and social impact of tourism to the local community; 3) Participation of locals in tourism activity; 4) Traffic and infrastructure, and 5) Waste management. The three restaurant operators were compared in term of sustainability criteria, based on their customers’ preferences, and three aspects of sustainability: economic, environment, and social. It was found that Cimory scored the best in sustainability performance and followed by Melrimba. The street hawkers, with several note, scored as third in the sustainability performance.Keywords: culinary tourism, ecotourism, puncak, value chain, sustainable tourismABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan menganalisis keberlanjutan pariwisata kuliner di Puncak, meliputi kajian isu-isu strategis  dalam  pariwisata kuliner, dan perbandingan aspek keberlanjutan dari usaha kuliner yang sudah ada. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif-kualitatif pada tiga kasus: restoran skala besar Cimory, rumah makan/kafe skala menengah Melrimba Garden, dan penjaja/pedagang asongan di area istirahat At-Ta’awun sebagai pengusaha kuliner skala kecil. Secara umum, rantai nilai dikategorikan menjadi lima kelompok utama berdasarkan fungsinya: penyedia layanan makanan; pemasok (masyarakat lokal, pedagang, dan koperasi); konsumen akhir (turis dan pelanggan); pemerintahan (pemerintah Kabupaten Bogor, areal koordinator, kompepar), dan perantara (distributor, agen tur). Setidaknya ada lima isu strategis yang terjadi dalam pengembangan pariwisata di daerah Puncak: 1) konversi fungsi lahan; 2) dampak ekonomi dan sosial, 3) partisipasi masyarakat lokal dalam kegiatan pariwisata; 4) lalu lintas dan infrastruktur di daerah Puncak, dan 5) pengelolaan sampah. Ketiga restoran memiliki kriteria keberlanjutan, hasil preferensi pelanggan, dan tiga aspek keberlanjutan (ekonomi, lingkungan, dan sosial). Cimory memiliki nilai yang terbaik dalam kinerja keberlanjutan dan diikuti oleh Melrimba. Pedagang kaki lima, dengan beberapa catatan, mencetak nilai sebagai peringkat terakhir dalam kinerja keberlanjutan.Kata kunci: wisata kuliner, ekowisata, puncak, rantai nilai, wisata berkelanjutan

Abstract

Palm sugar is one of the sweateners which is commonly found in Indonesia. People of Gunung Surat, Botosari Village, Paninggaran, Pekalongan Regency have traditionally produced palm sugar, but the palm sugar is still low quality and sold in bulk. This condition makes the selling value of palm sugar to be low. The aim of the training on making palm sugar and instan ginger beverage was to provide knowledge for the public about the diversification of palm sugar products with high selling value. The implementation of this training was to deliver material and practice of making products. The results of this training was the people of Gunung Surat, Botosari Village, especially members of the palm sugar IKM, know the process of making palm sugar and instant ginger beverage. Through making diversification of palm sugar products, it is expected to be able to increase the income and welfare of the local community.
