Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Physics learning equipments based on the Science Environment Technology and Social Approach (SETS). Learning with the SETS approach is expected to encourage students to understand the concepts of physics well, which can be applied in everyday life. This research uses McKenny's model which consists of preliminary, prototyping stage, and assessment stage. To see the effectiveness of the learning device is done at the assessment stage. At the assessment stage, three assessments are carried out, namely, attitude assessment, knowledge assessment, and skills assessment. The attitude and skills assessment was carried out by two observers by completing the observation questionnaire. Knowledge assessment is done by giving physics questions that have been validated by experts to students. This assessment is carried out in stages and each meeting is held in class by the observer. The results of this study indicate that high school physics learning equipments based on Science Environment technology and Social are in the category of very effective so it is feasible to be applied in the learning process.

Abstract

The background of this research is student understanding about natural  phenomena is quite low. Students curiousity about dinamic electricity and its relation with environment and technology, and its utilization in our daily life has not developed. One of the approximation to reach the purpose is Science Environment Technology And Social (SETS) approximation. This research purpose is to develop a valid, practice an effective high school physics learning equipments based on SETS especially on dynamic electricity. McKenny model is used as development model, consist of preliminary, prototyping stage, and assesment stage. The research showed that the handout for high school physics based on SETS can be categorized as valid, very practis, and very effective so it can be implemented on the learning process.

Abstract

The building of  low voltage and cost of spin coater using DC brushless motor from the old hard disk drivers has been carried out. The spin speed of spin coater offers manual control using potensiometer. The equipment consist of the simple hardware: IC timer 555, IC shift register SIPO 74LS164, IC driver L293D, microcontroller AT889S52, LCD and then motor speed detector using a couple of photodiode and LED and using IC Schmitt trigger inverter 74LS14 as the amplifier of the sensor. The data analysis result showed that the speed up spin of  the spin coater depend on the signal frequency from multivibrator. The equipment has spin speed stability with speed range from 180 rpm until 2460 rpm. Spin coater to be tested for applications where a glass slide microscope are coated with TiO2 (Titanium Dioksida) about varies speed and show that coating result can be fliemsier with addition of speed spin the spin coater.

Abstract

The role of this research to be form a student disaster preparedness even earlier. This caused by Padang City is an area that is potentially tsunami to disasters. One of the approximation is integrate the material into tsunami disaster physics learning in high school. This role of research is to developt the physics learning tools by using Inductive and Guided Discovery approach in the matter of wave integrated disaster of tsunami. This type of research is the development of research. Model is a model used 4-D that consist of definition, design, development, and disseminate stage. This research show that high school physiscs learning tool by using Inductive and Guided Discovery approach in the wave matter and integrated tsunami disaster very valid, very practice and effective so it can be implemented on the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of the development of high school physics student worksheets (LKPD) based on generative learning models. This development research uses a 4-D model. To see the effectiveness of the product, a develop step is carried out. The research sample was students of class X SMAN 1 Bayang Utara, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The results showed that LKPD was very effective in increasing the competence of attitudes, skills, and knowledge of students, with an average rating as follows: 76.47% effective category; Skills 80.48% very effective category; Knowledge of 81.58% category is very effective. This shows that the High School Physics Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on the Generative Learning Model can be used to improve the competence of Attitudes, Skills, and Knowledge of class X SMA students on dynamic electricity material.

Abstract

The scientific revolution is a replacement of the old paradigm to a new paradigm. According to Khun, the key to revolution regarding scientific paradigms is the approach or method taken by scientists in solving scientific problems. One of the paradigms in science is the development of the physics branch of Optics. Optics is the study of the properties of light in a material. This research is a literature study on optics material. The literature is taken from several books and journals related to the research conducted. Based on the search results, it is known that the Scientific Revolution in optics consists of 4 (four) periods. The first period was marked by the discovery of an optical lens. In this first period the opinion of scientists was not accompanied by experiments. The second period scientists have conducted experiments to support the theories put forward. One of the natural phenomena that scientists observed during this period was the rainbow. The third period is the shortest period in the history of the development of optics. In this period Thomas Young explained the concept of light being able to bend which was previously unanswered by Newton's emission theory. The fourth period is the period of modern optics, where the photoelectric effect and fiber optics have been discovered
