Abstract

This study is to know the effect of Talkshow Program on speaking ability at the students of English Department at STKIP PGRI Bangkalan. This study is true-experimental focused on Randomized Posttest only control group design. The population was 167 students selected randomly as a sample was 60 students, then was assigned randomly to experimental group and control group each 30 students. The data collected was from performance test individually and analyzed then by Independent T-test by the level of significance 5% through SPSS 22. As a result, t value > t critical (45.557>2.034); so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It meant that, there is a significant different between the students’ speaking ability with English talkshow Program and with non- English talkshow Program.. In conclusion, mean of the speaking ability between both programs is significant difference by seeing the mean difference is 18.66667. the result showed that the students are taught by English Talkhsow Program perform better in speaking ability than those taught with non-English talkshow program.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the Impact of Wordlist Media on Vocabulary Mastery for the students of Junior High School in Madura with the particular focus of finding new vocabularies in narrative text. This Quasi-Experimental research was implemented to examine. The Junior High School students in Madura using Wordlist Media. The results from this manipulation showed that the students through wordlist media were higher than those who were not using wordlist media. It proved that wordlist media was effective towards the students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

In the planning building structures, the calculation lateral loads due to earthquakes is very necessary. Spectrum response analysis is a way of analyzing the relationship between the period of a building structure and the value the building's acceleration when an earthquake hits it. Equivalent static analysis is usually used in buildings that are not too high, where the load effect on the structure is considered a horizontal static load due to ground movement. This study uses the lecture building object at the University of Semarang with the dynamic response spectrum and static equivalent methods. This study aims to determine the level of building safety due to earthquake loads according to SNI for earthquake resistance planning 1726; 2019 with base shear, displacement, story drift, and P-delta effects using the ETABS V.18.02. The results of analysis, the Semarang University lecture building stated that it was safe with a dynamic base shear spectrum response of not less than 100% static earthquake, maximum displacement with a value of 44 mm, the story drift value of all floors was still below the limit of 46.154 mm, so the structure of the lecture building was still in the safe category against working load. The effect of p-delta in this study is ignored because the boundary coefficient for each floor is less than 0.10.

Abstract

The newspaper industry (print media) has many difficulties in the digital era. Print media’s demise has been facilitated by the emergence of digital media, specifically new internet-based media. Newspapers and other traditional mass media outlets have issues. Digital media is both a challenge and a threat to traditional media, particularly newspapers. Due to these obstacles and dangers to print media, some publications have shut down, and others have switched to digital editions. This study aims to ascertain how the print media in East Java (Jawa Pos and Surya) retain their commercial viability under the continuing media digitalisation competition. With a Marxist Media perspective, this study employs a qualitative methodology. From July 2020 to July 2022, researchers used in-depth interviews and direct observation to collect data. East Java newspapers Jawa Pos and Surya were the focus of this study. The study’s findings demonstrate that the media products produced by these two media businesses engage in significant product commodification to create worldwide products. To produce global products, the two media have also produced media products. These products include news content that employs a single source for three different media types: print, electronic (television, radio), and internet media.

Abstract

Pendidikan berpengaruh terhadap kehidupan suatu bangsa. Pendidikan di saat ini telah terjebak dalam arus kapitalisasi atau komersialisasi pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) Mengetahui bentuk komersialisasi pendidikan di Indonesia, 2) mengetahui dampak komersialisasi pendidikan terhadap masyarakat di Lombok Timur. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian kualitatif bersifat deskriptif, pendekatan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi dengan  sumber data primer dan sekunder. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Bentuk komersialisasi pendidikan yang terjadi yaitu mahalnya biaya pendidikan, banyaknya pungutan-pungutan lembaga pendidikan dan perdagangan di dunia pendidikan. 2) dampak adanya komersialisasi pendidikan bagi masyarakat Lombok Timur.

Abstract

The study investigates the problem of stereotypes about Islam propagated by Hollywood films and the role of Islamic broadcasting in reshaping these perceptions. The objective of this research is to understand the impact of Hollywood’s portrayal of Islam on public perceptions and to explore how Islamic broadcasting counters these stereotypes and fosters a more accurate understanding of Islam. The research employs a qualitative approach, using methods such as in-depth interviews and document analysis. The data collected is analyzed using thematic analysis, ensuring the validity and reliability of the findings. The findings reveal a significant influence of Hollywood’s portrayal on public perceptions of Islam. However, Islamic broadcasting has emerged as an effective medium for countering these stereotypes and promoting a more balanced view of Islam. The study concludes that Islamic broadcasting plays a crucial role in reshaping perceptions of Islam, countering the stereotypes perpetuated by Hollywood. The implications of these findings suggest a need for further research into the power of broadcasting in shaping religious perceptions.

Abstract

This study aimed to discover the mistakes made by second-grade students at Ma'had Ibad Ar-Rahman Surabaya in using fi‘il muta‘addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr in Arabic sentences and the underlying reasons. The research method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The instruments used were observations and tests of ten students out of a total of 19 students. The test consists of 10 Indonesian sentences with transitive verbs with prepositions, and then these sentences are translated into Arabic in the form of fi‘il muta‘addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr. The results obtained are as follows: Forms of errors in using fi‘il muta‘addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr in students are subtracting and replacing the jarr letters that should be used. The factors that influence these mistakes are (1) ignorance of the boundaries of verb rules, (2) influences from the mother tongue, (3) little learning of Arabic rules, and (4) psychological factors such as haste, forgetfulness, laziness, and others.To address these factors, teachers can use methods that explain the rules of the Arabic language, such as the taqobuli method. This teaching method compares the rules of the Arabic language with those of the Indonesian language. By doing so, students can understand the differences and similarities in the rules of using the 'jarr' letters in 'fi'il muta'addi’ between the two languages. Keywords: Arabic, Error Analysis, Fi‘il Muta‘addi Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan siswa kelas II Ma'had Ibad Ar-Rahman Surabaya dalam menggunakan fi'il muta'addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr dalam kalimat bahasa Arab dan alasan yang mendasarinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah observasi dan tes terhadap sepuluh siswa dari total 19 siswa. Tes terdiri dari 10 kalimat bahasa Indonesia verba transitif dengan preposisi, kemudian kalimat tersebut diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Arab dalam bentuk fi’il muta’addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah sebagai berikut: Bentuk kesalahan penggunaan fi’il muta’addi bi ḥarfi al-jarr pada siswa adalah mengurangi dan mengganti huruf jarr yang seharusnya digunakan. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan tersebut adalah (1) ketidaktahuan akan batasan kaidah kata kerja, (2) pengaruh dari bahasa ibu, (3) sedikit mempelajari kaidah bahasa Arab, dan (4) faktor psikis seperti tergesa-gesa, lupa, malas, dan lain-lain. Untuk mengatasi faktor tersebut, guru dapat menggunakan metode yang menjelaskan kaidah bahasa Arab, seperti metode taqobuli. Metode pengajaran ini membandingkan kaidah bahasa Arab dengan kaidah bahasa Indonesia. Dengan begitu siswa dapat memahami perbedaan dan persamaan kaidah penggunaan huruf 'jarr' pada 'fi'il muta'addi’ antara kedua bahasa tersebut. Kata Kunci: Bahasa Arab, Analisis Kesalahan, Fi’il Muta’addi
