Abstract

ABSTRACTGlobal awareness towards sustainability are putting pressure on industries worldwide to implement procedures to manage the elements of sustainability for an industrial development. This study aims to assess the readiness of Pasuruan Industrial Estate Rembang (PIER) towards sustainable industrial estate. This research was conducted using qualitative methods with the type of research in the form of case studies. Six parameters are assessed based on the concept formulated by Ernest Lowe (2001) that include natural system integration with environmental capacity-bearing capability, sustainable energy and water use, integration of output and waste material flows, efficient industrial estate management, environmentally friendly infrastructure design and integration between industrial estates and social communities, contributing to local economic development. Using a Likert scale of 1 to 3 to assess the level of application of EIP principles in the PIER industrial estate, the results obtained are that two EIP principles have not been applied at all and four principles have not been fully implemented.Keywords: assessment, scales, sustainability

Abstract

Perkembangan industri consumer good mengalami perkembangan yang sangatcepat. Munculnya industri baru menimbulkan tingkat persaingan industri penghasilproduk sejenis dan produk subtitusi semakin meningkat. Hal ini dialami pula olehperusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang industri minuman dalam kemasan berbahan dasarteh, dimana semakin banyak perusahaan sejenis yang menghasilkan produk serupa danproduk baru turunannya. Kondisi ini mengharuskan perusahaan untuk segera melakukanpengembangan produknya agar tetap mampu bersaing di pasaran.Pengembangan produk didahului dengan suatu riset untuk mendapatkan jawabanterhadap apa yang diinginkan oleh pelanggan. Seperti diketahui bahwa produk (atau jasa)terdiri dari berbagai atribut. Untuk mengetahui kombinasi atribut dari produk yang diinginkanoleh konsumen harus dilakukan penelitian. Analisa Conjoint merupakan metode yang dapatdigunakan untuk mendapatkan kombinasi atribut suatu produk sesuai dengan yangdiinginkan oleh konsumen, sehingga akan didapatkan ukuran kuantitatif terhadap tingkatkegunaan (utility) dan kepentingan relatif (relatif importance) suatu atribut dibandingkandengan atribut yang lainnya. Selanjutnya nilai-nilai ini dapat digunakan untuk menentukanatribut-atribut suatu produk yang akan ditawarkan kepada konsumen.

Abstract

KAsyaman Village is one of the villages in Keerom district which has quite abundant agricultural products. Many plantations owned by the community are planted with banana trees. One form of processed banana plant is banana chips. So far, the people of Asyaman village process banana chips and sell them at kiosks or stalls without labels. Apart from that, the people of Asyaman village do not yet understand marketing through market places or online via social media. Based on the problems faced, this service approaches using qualitative methods, through interviews, observations and literature studies. The results obtained include making packaging labels and marketing training via social media. Through community service activities carried out with the aim of providing solutions to problems for the community in Asyaman village in particular and the entire community of Keerom district in general in order to increase knowledge and skills in managing existing agricultural products by utilizing technological advances. With assistance to MSME owners in Asyaman village, especially processing banana chips, they can make labels on their business products and also sell their products online through the market place.
