Abstract

This research is conducted bythe problem of imbalance in the mastery of concepts, practices and activitiesof participants with a productive age range of 25-65 years in basic AC split system training. This happens because the method used is predominantly expository and visual media. Therefore, the trainer seeks to use the AC split media simulator in order to create an interesting learning atmosphere and increase the catchment and competence of participants. This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes, interests and motivation of participants in the productive age range 30 years and 30 yearsafter using the AC split learning instructional media on the AC split system training. The research method used was quasi-experimental, with variations in the object of research on 20 participants of tuna work in the village of Cigugur, Kuningan. Data collection techniques using questionnaires interest, motivation, pre-test and post-test. The results showed an increase in participants' learning outcomes as indicated by the average value of participant's interest in trainingactivities at productive age 30and 30 years with a score of 2.81 and 3.16, the category was quite good with an average N-Gain score of 55.89 and 36.26 medium category (30 ≤ G ≤ 70). The application of AC split simulator learning media also shows the learning motivation of participantsat the age of productive age range 30 years is greater than 30 years, amounting to 3.19: 3.08 with a fairly good category (Average score of 2.50-3.49). The distribution of N-Gain scores shows that the achievement of increased learning outcomes (training) for age 30 years tends to be higher on the scale of the medium category compared to the age range 30 years. The conclusion of this study, that the productive age range 30 years has a more significant increase in learning outcomes than the age range 30 years. by implementing the learning media of AC split simulator can increase the interest and motivation of participants in the basic AC split system training.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Perceptions of Educational Students, Engineering, Machines in the Implementation of the Education Unit Field Experience Program (PPLSP) in terms of pedagogical competence and social competence during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted at the University of Education of Indonesia (UPI) with the research subject, namely students participating in the 2020 PPLSP Mechanical Engineering Education batch of 2016. The research was conducted in August 2020. With a total population of 48 respondents. The sampling technique used a questionnaire / questionnaire. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis.The results of this study indicate that:The mastery of pedagogical competence (learning planning, learning implementation, and assessment) with a mean value of 87.96 means that they are in the 81-99 interval class (Good) by obtaining a total of 29 students as respondents. or 60.4%. In the implementation of PPLSP, the pedagogical competence which includes learning planning, learning implementation and assessment is in the "Good" category. On the mastery of social competence with a mean value of 34.92, that means being in the 31-37 (Good) interval class by obtaining a total of 28 students or 58.3% respondents. In the implementation of PPLSP in social competences that are in the "Good" category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how students’ perceptions of online learning in terms of learning facilities, the ability of lecturer and students, as well as their learning activities. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The data collection technique used in this research is a closed questionnaire filled out by Competency-Based Curriculum Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia students who contracted the Air Conditioning Engineering course, the sample was the entire population of the study. The results of this study indicate that students have good online learning facilities, students and lecturer can use learning facilities properly, and online learning activites are also carried out well. However, the results of the study also showed that the majority of students stated that online learning was not easier to understand and was not more interesting when compared to conventional learning.

Abstract

In this study, research on the use of the External Magnetic Field method – Tungsten Inert Gas was done to determine the effect of welding arc compression on the quality of AISI 304 thin plate weld. The welding process was performed using autogenous welds. In this study, an external magnetic field was generated by placing a magnetic solenoid around the TIG welding torch. Enabling this electromagnetic field is done dynamically using a microcontroller. Welding parameters used are welding current 100; 105; 110 A and welding speed 1.6; 1.8; 2.05 mm/s. The results of this study showed that EMF-TIG welding can produce a more uniform bead width along the weld line with a standard deviation of 0.08 compared with conventional TIG welding of 0.12. Increased welding speed of  2.05 mm/s causes no effect on the addition of an external magnetic field to the width of the weld bead. The current parameters are 105 A with a speed of 1.6; 1.8; 2.05 mm/s resulted in compression of the top bead width by 0.87; 0.61; 0.1 mm. The welding parameters with a current of 105 A and welding speed of 1.6 mm/s have a larger upper bead compression effect of 0.84 mm compared to 110 A currents of 0.38 mm. Moreover, the D/W ratio obtained under an external magnetic field was higher than without magnetic.

Abstract

The implementation of this research was motivatedby the low results of student examinations in the Automotive Engine Electricity subject in 2017-2018, namely there were 27 students with an assessment standard of 7.5 after taking the average score of students at a value of 5.17 which indicates the average value of students. is far below the minimum completeness criteria value.Researchersestimatethatthelowachievementofstudenttestscoresisduetolowunderstandingof learning materials, and understanding of this material is influenced by the application of learning mediathatisnotoptimal.Learningmediaisessentiallyabridgeoflearningmessagesconveyedby lecturers to students so that they can be absorbed quickly and precisely according to their purpose. Some of the optimal application of learning media can use Android-based media, especially Unity Media.Researchersstigmatize thattheuseofAndroid-basedlearningmediawithUnitymediacan improve student learning outcomes. The implementation of this study aims to determine whether the use of android-based applications can significantly improve students' ability to read conventional ignition wiring diagrams in the Automotive Engineering course. Retrieval of data in thisstudywastaken fromasampleofautomotiveconcentrationmechanicalengineeringeducation students who are currently taking Automotive Engine Electrical courses. The research design that the researchers used was the Experiment type One Group Pre-test-Post test Design. Based on the research data, the data shows that there is a significant increase in student achievement, which is obtainedbasedonthepretestandposttestscores.TheaverageN-gainscoreobtainedfromthisstudy is 0.41 in the mediumcategory.

Abstract

Dalam studi ini, penelitian mengenai penggunaan metode External Magnetic Field - Tungsten Inert Gas pada aplikasi sambungan tumpul dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari pemampatan busur las terhadap kualitas hasil sambungan tumpul pelat tipis SS 304. Proses pengelasan ini dilakukan tanpa menggunakan logam pengisi tambahan (autogenous weld). Pada penelitian ini medan magnet luar ditimbulkan dengan meletakkan solenoid magnetik di sekeliling obor las TIG. Pengaktifkan medan elektromagnetik ini dilakukan secara dinamis dengan menggunakan mikrokontroler. Parameter pengelasan yang digunakan yaitu arus pengelasan 100; 105; 110 A dan kecepatan pengelasan 1,6; 1,8; 2,05 mm/s. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelasan EMF-TIG dapat menghasilkan lebar manik yang lebih seragam di sepanjang jalur las dengan standar deviasi sebesar 0,08 dibandingkan dengan las TIG konvensional sebesar 0,12. Peningkatan kecepatan las sebesar 2,05 mm/s menyebabkan tidak berpengaruhnya penambahan medan magnet luar terhadap lebar manik las. Parameter arus 105 A dengan kecepatan 1,6; 1,8; 2,05 mm/s menghasilkan pemampatan lebar manik atas berturut- turut sebesar 0,87; 0,61; 0,1 mm. Parameter pengelasan dengan arus 105 A dan kecepatan las 1,6 mm/s memiliki efek pemampatan manik atas yang lebih besar yaitu sebesar 0,84 mm dibandingkan arus 110 A yaitu 0,38 mm.

Abstract

Isu tentang kerusakan ozon dan pemanasan global permukaan bumi akibat refrigeran sintetik, mendorong laboratorium Pendidikan yang menggunakan mesin pendingin, mencari alternatif jenis refrigeran yang ramah lingkungan. Retrofit merupakan penggantian refrigeran (bahan habis sebagai fluida kerja) dengan jenis refrigeran yang ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan eksperimen retrofit refrigeran R-134a pada alat praktikum mesin pendingin jenis refrigerator/kulkas dengan refrigeran natural yang diproduksi oleh perusaan domestik sebagai refrigeran ramah lingkungan. Penelitian dirancang secara eksperimen dengan metode retrofit drop in subtitude. Jenis refrigeran natural yang digunakan adalah Musicool-22 (MC-22). Pengujian diawali dengan mengukur performa mesin pendingin refrigerator yang masih menggunakan refrigeran R-134a, untuk mendapatkan performa awal refrigerator. Kemudian dilakukan reftrofit dengan MC-22 dengan jumlah massa 15% sampai 65% dari massa R-134a. Selanjutnya kinerja refrigerator yang sudah diretrofit menggunakan MC-22 diukur sebagaimana pengukuran kinerja mesin pendingin menggunakan refrigeran R-134a. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa, performa mesin pendingin refrigerator meningkat pada saat diretrofit MC-22 dengan jumlah massa refrigeran 25% sampai 35% dari massa refrigeran R-134a. Performa terbaik refrigerator diperoleh saat menggunakan MC-22 (m=25g) dengan nilai COP meningkat sampai 10,3% dan suhu evaporator lebih rendah 6 0C dari mesin pendingin refrigerator yang menggunakan refrigeran asalnya (R-134a, m=100g).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data performa kincir angin dengan kapasitas kecil (jumlah 7 sudu dan panjang 35 cm) yang digunakan sebagai penggerak pompa air. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dan pengukuran secara aktual serta perhitungannya. Metode pengujian meliputi pengaruh dari kincir angin setelah dihembuskan angin dari blower dengan variabel uji kecepatan angin (2,0 m/s, 2,6 m/s, 3,0 m/s,  m/s, dan 3,6 m/s) serta menggunakan sistem transmisi poros engkol yang langsung digunakan untuk penggerak pompa torak kerja ganda. Spesifikasi kincir angin sebagai berikut : diameter rotor 90 cm, panjang sudu 35 cm, jumlah sudu 7 buah serta bahan sudu terbuat dari pipa pvc 6’’. Sedangkan spesifikasi pompa torak adalah diameter silinder dan torak 70 mm, panjang langkah torak 20 cm, bahan torak terbuat dari pipa pvc ½’’. Hasil yang didapat dari pengujian kincir angin penggerak pompa air ini adalah debit terbesar yang didapatkan dari kecepatan angin tertinggi 3,6 m/s sebesar 0,09 m3/jam, dengan daya hidrolik pompa yang dihasilkan sebesar 0,18 watt dan putaran 59 RPM. Sehingga, didapatkan nilai presentase sistem adalah 0.025. Hal tersebut berbanding terbalik dengan nilai efisiensi turbin yang dihasilkan semakin besar adalah 58,7%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data performa dari turbin pelton dengan kapasitas kecil (jumlah 9 sudu dan panjang 29,6 cm) yang digunakan sebagai penggerak turbin. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen dan pengukuran secara aktual serta perhitungannya. Metode pengujian meliputi pengaruh dari turbin pelton setelah dirubah sudunya menjadi sudu lengkung pada ketinggian yang berbeda  yaitu 1,5 meter, 1 meter dan 0,5 meter dan menggunakan transmisi rantai untuk meneruskan ke generator untuk dirubah menjadi energi listrik. Hasil yang didapat dari pengujian turbin pelton yaitu putaran turbin meningkat dari 38,3 Rpm menjadi 41,7 Rpm pada ketinggian 1,5 meter. Disisi lain beda potensial/tegangan yang dihasilkan juga meningkat dari 0,128 Volt menjadi 0,198 Volt pada ketinggian 1,5 meter. Daya optimum terjadi di ketinggian  1,5 meter yaitu dari 0,0512 watt menjadi 0,0792 watt. Nilai effisiensi tertinggi yaitu 81% pada ketinggian 0,5 meter.

Abstract

Resizing the main components of the cooling machine needs to be done after being retrofitted with a new refrigerant. This is done to improve the performance of the cooling engine. In this study, we would like to investigate the effect of adjusting the main components of the cooling machine performance after using new environmentally friendly refrigerants. The experiment was designed on a refrigerator that uses R-134a as a working fluid. The type of hydrocarbon refrigerant used to substitute R-134a is Musicool-22 (MC-22). The cooling load in the evaporator cabin is a salt solution. Testing is done in two stages. In the first stage, the refrigerator operates in its original condition (R-134a with CT1 as the expansion valve). In the second stage, the working fluid R-134a is retrofitted with MC-22 with adjustments to its main components into several variations. Furthermore, the refrigerator performance is measured by comparing the value of the refrigerating effect (RE), the heat of compression, and the refrigerator performance (COP). The test results show that the best refrigerator performance rate is when the refrigerator operates with variation 3 (refrigerant MC-22 with CT2 as the expansion valve), increasing COP values ranging from 0.62% to 2.12%.
