Abstract

Warga pesisir yang tinggal di kota Batam sebagian besar bergantung pada laut. Sebagian besar bekerja sebagai nelayan dan sebagian lainnya bekerja sebagai pembudidaya ikan. Teluk Mata Ikan di Kecamatan Nongsa merupakan salah satu pulau nelayan di Kota Batam. Lokasinya yang berbatasan langsung dengan Singapura menjadikan pulau ini salah satu titik perbatasan Kota Batam dengan potensi air. Diketahui bahwa nelayan di Teluk Mata Ikan sering mengalami kecelakaan saat bekerja di laut. Terdapat banyak potensi resiko yang dapat terjadi seperti kapal bocor, terluka saat menarik jala, kelebihan muatan, dan tenggelam. Oleh karena itu, perlu diadakan pelatihan keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja untuk memberikan pemahaman dan mendorong kesadaran para nelayan di Teluk Mata Ikan. Untuk tata tertib para nelayan bisa lebih memperhatikan keselamatannya. Selain memberikan pelatihan, kegiatan ini juga dibarengi dengan pemberian jaket pengaman untuk meminimalisir resiko tenggelam jika nelayan terpaksa terjatuh ke laut.

Abstract

Abstract

Experiments of rolling motion on an inclined plane in measuring time and speed have used sensors as time triggers on Arduino so that the resulting data is more accurate. However, the design of the tool that has been developed has not been able to respond to objects at higher speeds. The purpose of this study is to optimize the design of the existing inclined plane practicum tool so that it is able to respond to the motion of objects with higher speeds, longer distances, able to display graphs of distance against time, and speed against time in rolling motion to determine the inertia constant. The research method used is to apply an existing tool design with modified sensor updates and Arduino pro micro. The object used as the test object is a solid ball and a hollow ball with variations in the angle of inclination. The percentage of error in the value of the inertia constant is obtained between 4% to 6%.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the understanding of the Tiban Mas children that physics or science subjects are not only memorized but with an understanding of concepts. This service activity is carried out with the stages of providing material but not directly formulating but followed by demonstration of practical tools and simple simulations on the material by utilizing developing technology. The basic principle is to directly invite the children of the Tiban Mas Residence to demonstrate the application of the physics concepts discussed. In addition, simulations are also shown that stimulate the children of the Tiban Mas Residence to be able to think that what they do every day is always related to physics or science. The technique used in this service activity is carried out in several ways including pretest, interview (focus group discussion), concept giving, through experimental studies (props and practicum), and post test. The results of the pretest showed the results of the means 53.83, after the service activities were carried out, it was continued with the posttest whether there was an increase in the value and the means obtained were 69.16. This service activity involves not only one scientific field but a combination of the fields of physics and engineering. The need for physical science is prioritized for understanding concepts. Meanwhile, engineering science focuses on the effectiveness of the design which includes assembling, installing and experimenting with props and simulations that will be made. This scientific amalgamation increases understanding which can be seen in the increase in posttest scores.

Abstract

Hazard is something that can potentially cause harm. Losses can be in the form of health problems or injuries to humans (workers), loss of work time, damage to property, area or workplace, products or damage to the surrounding environment, losses in the production process or other damages. Therefore, need for a comprehensive assessment of potential hazards. The purpose of this hazard assessment is to find out how much potential hazards the work station has. In this problem requires a solution in order to calculate how much the overall potential hazard, so the solution is to use a potential assessment sheet with a macro ergonomics approach. In the final results of the hazard potential assessment sheet is given a ranking, in order to determine the largest to the smallest potential at the work station. It also provides a quick conclusion to determine the potential hazards of macro ergonomic elements that must be carried out in advance in order in the ranking.

Abstract

A puzzle is an arrangement of numbers consisting of nine squares that are neatly arranged in a sequence of numbers 1 to number 8. Puzzle games are interesting, fun games and improve cognitive abilities, how to think quickly and are able to develop children's brains to increase their grasping power in solving a problem. . The problem that occurs in this study is the lack of children's ability to solve the logic of compiling puzzles, so make rules and steps to quickly complete this game. The main purpose of this research is to help children improve their thinking patterns so they can arrange numbers 1 to 8 with fast time and solutions. The method used is the Best First Search algorithm in finding the Final Goal quickly and easily. The final result of this research, after several stages of eating, the final result is that the puzzle sequence has fulfilled the final goal according to the initial data. The basic concept of solving the Best First Search Algorithm must follow the rules that have been set by running the process in accordance with existing procedures. If in the search process an unsuitable arrangement is found, then proceed with the next search until it finds the correct position in the form of a sequence of numbers 1 to 8. If it is found, the search algorithm is stopped

Abstract

The purpose of learning process is to create the intellectual and to develop the characters of students. The integration of characters value in learning process is important. One solution to overcome the problem is to develop an module based on ICT to integrate the character values. The general purpose of this research is to produce a module based on ICT to integrate the character valid that valid, practice, and effective to use in learning process. The type of this research is Research and Development (R & D). It uses before-after experimental design. Object of this research is module based on ICT. Subjects of this research are 31 students of X.5 at SMA 10 Padang. The instruments are used to collect the data in this research are: validity sheet, practicality sheet, learning outcomes test sheet, and questionary sheet.  Based on analyze of the data, There are four result of this research. First, module has high validation score 87. Second, the design of this module has menu home, competence, learning evaluation, and download which are completed by video and animation as well as are packaged in CD. Third, the value of practicality of module according to the teachers and students are 85,46 and 87,60. Fourth, this module effectives to increase learning outcomes and develops the character value of the students.   Keywords— Module, ICT, Characters value, Validity, Practicality, effectivity

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat merupakan suatu kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk membina masyarakat dalam beberapa ilmu dan pengalaman yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat dan lingkungannya. Dengan menganalisa permasalahan yang dihadapi masyarakat saat ini, sampah merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang sangat meresahkan. Penumpukan sampah yang terjadi di beberapa tempat penampungan di seluruh wilayah Indonesia terutama kota Batam, mulai menimbulkan kerugian bagi masyarakat sekitar tempat penampungan. Tumpukan sampah sebagian besar merupakan sampah plastik. Bahan plastik membutuhkan waktu kurang lebih 80 tahun untuk dapat diuraikan dan hancur. Sementara itu, penggunaan plastik dalam kehidupan manusia semakin meluas mulai dari peralatan rumah tangga, alat kesehatan, hingga bahan pembungkus makanan. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya solusi bagi permasalahan sampah plastik. Solusi yang ditawarkan tim pengabdi adalah dengan memanfaatkan sampah plastik sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan produk yang dimanfaatkan menjadi barang guna pakai salah satunya tas. Tas berbahan dasar sampah plastik dapat dimanfaatkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan memberikan pembinaan kepada warga Kavling Sagulung Baru sebagai salah satu daerah pembuangan sementara sampah mengenai bahaya dan pemanfaatan sampah plastik sebagai bahan pembuatan tas diharapkan dapat mengurangi penumpukan sampah plastik. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa tas diharapkan dapat bernilai guna dan nilai jual sehingga dapat membuka lapangan pekerjaan baru bagi masyarakat Kavling Sagulung Baru, Batam.

Abstract

Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) is the implementation of education before entering basic education to help growth and physical and spiritual development so that children have readiness in entering further education. The Association of Indonesian Early Childhood Educators and Education Personnel or abbreviated as HIMPAUDI is an organization of PAUD educators to increase the effectiveness of every PAUD teacher. Given the importance of the creativity of PAUD educators, HIMPAUDI Batam Center needs to make various innovative efforts to improve the quality of students and education itself. In this technological era, all forms of activities especially those related to teaching have turned to modern in order to keep up with the times. If only PAUD teachers feel that there is no need for creativity by not following technological developments especially considering that they have mastered learning in the classroom, then the educator will miss all the knowledge that is still embedded without being explored further using information technology. This service will provide training for PAUD teachers to innovate and increase their creativity without having to be outdated. Utilizing applications that are available free of charge and creating blogs as "space" for teachers to share will be an activity in this service.
