Abstract

Covid-19 merupakan salah satu virus yang sedang melanda di seluruh dunia. Banyak pasien COVID-19 yang terinfeksi dikarenakan imunitas yang rendah. Faktor yang mempengaruhi sistem imun adalah genetik, fisiologis, stress, usia, hormon, olahraga, kurangnya istirahat, nutrisi yang tidak terpenuhi, dan terpaparnya dengan zat yang berbahaya misalnya radioaktif, rokok, pestisida, bahan kimia yang lainnya ataupun alcohol. Salah satu bentuk yang dapat dilakukan untuk menangani COVID-19 adalah dengan meningkatkan imunitas. Meningkatkan imunitas dengan mengkonsumsi obat yang berasal dari bahan alam atau dikenal sebagai OMAI (Obat Modern Asli Indonesia). Salah satu bentuk OMAI adalah (Curcuma Xanthorrhiza) dan kencur (Kaemferia galanga). Kedua bahan tersebut dapat digunakan apabila cara pengolahannya baik dan benar. Oleh karenanya dilakukan penelitian terkait pemahaman masyarakat cara pengolahan kedua OMAI tersebut. Hasil data leximancer 4.51 menunjukkan masyarakat belum memahami cara pengolahan yang baik dan benar untuk sediaan serbuk instan ataupun sediaan yang lainnya sedangkan untuk sediaan siap minum (larutan) masyarakat sebagian besar memahami dengan baik dan benar cara pengolahannya. Hal ini juga di sebabkan karena masyarakat masih banyak yang belum menjumpai sediaan selain larutan. Dari hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlu adanya pendekatan kepada masyarakat terkait cara pengolahan bentuk sediaan yang lainnya seperti bentuk sediaan serbuk instan, lozenges, dan kapsul.

Abstract

Echinometra mathaei sea urchins are known to contain chemical compounds that can be used to overcome health problems, one of which has antioxidant activity. Some previous studies have explained the benefits of sea urchins but to ensure the quality assurance of sea urchins extracts, efforts should be made to determine the quality standards of sea urchins extract. This study aims to standardize specific parameters and non-specific parameters on Echinometra mathaei sea urchins extract to ensure the quality of 96% ethanol extract. Samples were obtained from Rongkang Beach, Kwanyar District, Bangkalan District, Madura which were then extracted using maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent. The results of the study for specific parameters showed that organoleptically and macroscopically the extracts were thick, blackish brown in color and characteristic of sea urchins; levels of dissolved compounds in ethanol of 78.37%; levels of dissolved compounds in water of 93.09%; and chemical content tests showed that the extract contained steroid compounds, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids and terpenoids. Determination of non-specific parameters showed that Echinometra mathaei sea urchin extract had a drying shrinkage of 3.03%; specific gravity of 0.8411 g/mL; water content of 5.32%; Pb heavy metal contamination was 7.28 mg/kg, Cd was <0.0024 mg/kg, Hg was <0.0002 mg / kg, Mg was 347.83 mg / kg; microbial contamination of <10 colonies / mL; and yeast mold contamination of <10 colonies/mL. The conclusion is Echinometra mathaei sea urchin extract has the potential to be developed into a medicinal preparation. Abstract

This research aimed to study the histopathological heart rat of sub chronic toxicity 70% ethanol extract Citrus nobilis Lourr. Peel. This study used 40 male white Galur Wistar rats in sub-chronic toxicity and each divided into 4 groups (control group giving CMC Na 0,5%, dose group 40 mg/kg BB, dose group 200 mg/kg BB, and dose group 1000 mg/kb BB). Each group consists of 10 males. Each cage contains 5 rats of the same age and gender, fed and drunk in ad libitum method. Furthermore, the rats are being weighing in. 70% extraction of Citrus nobilis Lour peel is orally given to the rats, every day for 90 days accordance with the group. After rats were given dose treatment for 90 days then observed histopathology of heart. Each rat organ preparation was observed in five different fields of view then scored and processed with rank ratings then analyzed using non parametric statistical test using Kruskal Wallis test. 70% extraction of Citrus nobilis Lour peel for 90 days with a dose of 1000mg / kg of rats based on statistical tests showed damaged heart muscle cell on histopathological observation of the heart. It is then expected to continue on the chronic toxicity test of 70% extraction of Citrus nobilis Lour peel for 12 months to predict the safety of clinical use in humans in the long term.
