Community Capacity Building and Identification of Tourism Potential in the Development of Watu Tiri Village as a Tourism Village This community service activity aims to increase the capacity of the Watu Tiri Village community in the tourism sector and identify existing tourism potentials. In this activity, there are three approaches taken, including Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), Community-based development, and participatory. Data collection used focus group discussion (FGD) techniques and field observations. The tourism potentials identified in this community service activity include Mberenang Beach and hot springs as natural tourism potential, while cultural potential includes the activity of weaving single for women and traditional ceremonies in Watu Tiri Village. It can be concluded that in developing Watu Tiri Village as a tourism village, assistance activities such as promotion and e-commerce training, guiding training and English language training, and improving the mitigation system in the Mberenang Beach area are still needed to improve its image.

Cases of pneumonia caused by the novel corona virus or 2019-nCoV, known as COVID-19 have spread throughout the world. One of the industries affected by the massive spread of the disease is tourism. This happens because human movement is restricted. West Manggarai Regency, which has Labuan Bajo as a priority tourism destination in Indonesia, is experiencing a loss of local revenue (PAD). Moreover, tourism is the largest passenger of PAD in West Manggarai Regency. In response to the impact of tourism, the government reopened Komodo National Park. A quantitative approach to data collection through surveys is the method used in this study. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling technique, where the individuals who were the respondents had certain criteria according to the research needs, such as age and the field of tourism where they worked. There is a measuring tool in this study adapted from a study of the knowledge, attitudes and practices (PSP) of the Malaysian population against COVID-19 in Malaysia and China. Therefore, researchers consider it necessary to study the knowledge, attitudes and practices of tourism industry players towards COVID-19 as a basis for assessing the readiness of industry players to open the flow of tourists to Labuan Bajo during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this study show that tourism industry players in Labuan Bajo have low knowledge scores about COVID-19, an optimistic attitude that the COVID-19 pandemic will be controlled, and in practice tourism industry players use masks and wash their hands with soap or hand. sanitizer in everyday life, but still visit crowded places even though it's not urgent.

Abstrak Desa Watu Tiri merupakan sebuah desa di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat yang memiliki potensi alam dan budaya di bidang pariwisata. Akan tetapi, masyarakat lokal masih belum mampu mengelola potensi tersebut dengan baik. Pengelolaan potensi wisata dengan pendekatan pariwisata berbasis masyarakat merupakan instrumen pengembangan masyarakat dalam memperkuat partisipasi dan kemampuan masyarakat lokal untuk mengelola sumber daya pariwisata. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk identifikasi potensi alam dan budaya di Desa Watu Tiri, dan pengelolaannya dengan pendekatan pariwisata berbasis masyarakat. Metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi dan forum diskusi merupakan metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasilnya, Desa Watu Tiri memiliki poin-poin penting yang mendukung penerapan pengelolaan potensi wisata dengan pendekatan pariwisata berbasis masyarakat. Namun demikian, pemerintah Desa Watu Tiri masih harus mengerjakan hal yang menghambat penerapan pengelolaan potensi dengan pendekatan tersebut. Qualitative methods with observation data collection techniques and discussion forums are the methods used in this study. As a result, Watu Tiri Village has important points that support the implementation of tourism potential management with a community-based tourism approach. Pariwisata merupakan penyumbang Pendapatan Asli Daerah bagi Kabupaten Manggarai Barat. Taman Nasional Komodo (TNK) merupakan daya tarik pariwisata utama di kabupaten ini. Selain itu, Gua Batu Cermin merupakan atraksi wisata yang sering ditawarkan sebagai pelengkap paket wisata kepada turis (second order attraction). Namun demikian, dari jumlah kedatangan ke TNK, presentasi yang berkunjung ke Gua Batu Cermin masih sedikit. Oleh karena itu, diperlukannya penelitian menggunakan analisis SWOT untuk mengindentifikasi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang dan ancaman yang dimiliki oleh Gua Batu Cermin sebagai atraksi wisata untuk menentukan strategi pengembangannya. Setiap komponen SWOT, dianalisis dengan menggunakan IFAS dan EFAS untuk menentukan titik koordinat keadaan Gua Batu Cermin. Berdasarkan analisis SWOT, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Gua Batu Cermin berada pada situasi SO (Strength-Opportunities), dimana strategi yang diterapkan harus memaksimalkan strength guna mendapatkan peluang secara maksimal. Strategi tersebut diantaranya melakukan perbaikan dari sisi fasilitas dan infrastruktur, pengelola Gua Batu Cermin melakukan kerja sama dengan para travel agent, promosi digital secara intens, dan melakukan pelatihan bagi seluruh elemen pengelola Gua Batu Cermin

Training for Preparation of Narratives and Distribution Map of Tourism Potential for Pokdarwis Golo Cucu Kempo Village is one of the villages in West Manggarai Regency which has been designated as a tourist village. The community group that is involved in developing tourism potential in this village is Pokdarwis Golo Cucu. The problem faced by Pokdarwis is that there is still no information about the tourism potential in Kempo Village, such as narratives and maps of the distribution of tourism potential. Therefore, the purpose of this activity is for Pokdarwis members to be able to compose narratives and potential distribution maps as information to be shared with visitors. This activity uses the focus group discussion method. The result of this activity is that there are 15 natural and cultural tourism potentials that can become tourist attractions in Kempo Village along with narratives and maps of the distribution of tourism potential. As a suggestion, the structured narrative can be refined again to present interesting information. In addition, narratives can be posted on information boards and social media as promotional materials. The tourism potential distribution map can also be refined by using GIS applications and determining points using GPS, so that the resulting map is more precise..

The development of tourism has a negative impact on the environment of new management practices in the tourism industry, namely tourism villages. Tourism villages are also a form of implementing sustainable development goals. As one of the tourist villages in West Manggarai Regency, Wae Lolos Village must be able to be managed into a tourism village that is following the goals of sustainable development, so it is essential to manage a tourist village that understands the management of a tourist village under the goals of sustainable development. There are public lectures, pre-and post-tests, and self assessment using the global sustainable tourism council criteria in community service activities—Results of increasing mean value between the pre-test and post-test indicate the understanding of sustainable development goals. In addition, based on the GSTC aspect of the destination category, the aspect of governance is the aspect that has the most percentage of met criteria, but environmental aspects are the aspects that have presentation criteria. Wae Lolos Village uses the GSTC criteria as a measuring tool for monitoring and evaluating the performance of tourism villages.

Wae Bobok is a forest area in Tanjung Boleng Village, West Manggarai Regency, that used as a rest area for local people who drive between districts as well as an ecotourism destination. Not only a variety of special culinary, Wae Bobok offers a number of attractions in surrounding area, such as view point, spring, waterfall, outbond and camping site. Interpretive media is one aspect that needs to be developed in Wae Bobok in order to improve the quality of ecotourism destinations and increase knowledge for tourists. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge regarding the concept of interpretation and train the community in developing interpretation media in Wae Bobok area. By using a community based-development approach and field observations, this activity try to produce a short narrative of tourist attractions in Wae Bobok area as well as interpretive media such as brochure and promotional video that can be used by visitors.

The West Manggarai Regency Government has established 94 tourist villages in line with tourism development. One of the tourist villages in West Manggarai Regency is Kempo Village. The natural tourism potential of this village is Golo Cucu Hill, Liang Ndre Kalelawar Cave, and rice fields. However, there has been no study on the potential for natural tourism in Kempo Village. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the potential for natural tourism in Kempo Village. This research approach was qualitative, with data collection techniques through focused group discussions and observation. Data analysis used the Guidelines for the Analysis of Working Areas for Natural Tourism Objects and Attractions (ADO-ODTWA). The results were seven aspects that have high feasibility categories, namely 1) tourist attraction, 2) conditions around the area, 3) management and services, 4) facilities and infrastructure, 5) availability of clean water, 6) security and 7) marketing. The aspect with a moderate eligibility category was accessibility, while the accommodation aspect had a low eligibility category. Thus, it can be concluded that the natural tourism potential in Kempo Village was highly feasible. However, there was a need for improvement in accommodation and accessibility aspects. Recommendations for the accommodation aspect were hospitality training for Pokdarwis members and the determination of community houses as homestays while improving the accessibility aspect could be done by making information boards and road signs to make it easier for tourists to visit.

Perkembangan pariwisata dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya jumlah kunjungan. Jumlah kunjungan berpengaruh terhadap perekonomian sebuah daerah. Manfaat ekonomi dari perkembangan pariwisata dapat distribusikan merata dengan pengembangan desa menjadi desa wisata dengan pendekatan community based tourism. Desa Ranggu merupakan desa wisata yang berada di Kabupaten Manggarai Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan strategi pengembangan Desa Ranggu sebagai desa wisata dengan pedekatan Community Based Tourism (CBT). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian yang didapat ialah masyarakat sudah siap untuk menyambut tamu namun masih membutuhkan pelatihan di bidang pariwisata, kehadiran local champion dan pokdarwis menjadi penting dalam penerapan CBT, dan dibutuhkan paket wisata sebagai produk wisata Desa Ranggu yang dapat dipromosikan menggunakan media sosial.
