Abstract

Abstract: The establishment of educational tourism in mangrove areas is expected to prevent and overcome the impact of tourist activities on nature and culture. This community service activity was carried out in the Tanjung Batu Mangrove area, Sekotong Village with the aim of designing an educational tourism concept to maximize the use of mangroves as a new tourist attraction in the Central Sekotong area. The selection of mangrove locations was carried out by purposive sampling, and the methods applied to this service were observation, socialization, discussion and direct area arrangement. The results of observations showed the potential flora in Tanjung Batu, namely Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora stylosa and Avicennia lanata. Meanwhile, the birds types found in this area are terns, swallows, black eagles, sparrows, king prawns and Asian plover. The potential of flora and fauna is then described in the Flora-Fauna interpretation board and a short documentary related to the area which was prepared jointly by the manager and the community service team. Recommendations for the types of educational tourism activities that can be offered for the Tanjung Batu Mangrove area, namely bird watching, mangrove planting, canoeing, and making mangrove films. Abstract

This research was intended to find Contribution of Non-Timber Forest Products Candlenut (Aleurites Moluccana) to Farmer’s Income of Tangga, supporting and inhibiting factors, and income improvement strategy of business non-timber forest products candlenut. The research location in Tangga hamlet, Selengen Village, Kayangan District, North Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province. This research used interview method with questionnaire tool to 36 respondents was carried on February 2018. The results showed Contribution of Non-Timber Forest Products Candlenut from region farmer community to farmer’s income was 63.2% /area of arable land or 63% /hectares, which support farmers to cultivate candlenut because it is very easy to develop, does not require intensive maintenance, harvest activities were very easy to do, technology tools used were traditional, and marketing process was easy to do. As well as barriers in the miscellaneous management of the lack of capital and the availability of limited tools in the processing of candlenut so that farmers can only sell candlenut in the form of logs that will reduce the income it receives, as well as the lack of knowledge and skills possessed by farmers. Income-generating strategy of the candlenut can be done with SO strategy (Strenght-Opportunity) that is developing the potency of candlenut with skill owned by farmer by utilizing simple tool technology. As well as increased cultivation and intensive candlenut intensive maintenance by utilizing the existing land area.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the legal issues that cause FMUs to not work optimally in managing forests sustainably. Some of the legal issues analyzed are related to the institution, permit authority, funding, and RPHJP development. This research uses a statute approach and retrospective (ex-post) analysis by examining various laws and regulations in the forestry sector related to FMUs and its implementation. The results of this study indicate that the FMU has serious legal issues in terms of institution, permit authority, funding, and Long-Term Forest Management Plan/RPHJP development. From an institutional perspective, FMUs are at the crossroads of the authorities of the four directorates generals in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. In terms of authority, FMUs are the spearhead of forest management at the site level, but FMUs do not have adequate authority in managing forests in their areas. Then from the funding side, FMUs are faced with a minimum budget as well as no guarantee of funding for their RPHJP. And finally, in terms of the RPHJP development, FMU faces serious challenges after the enactment of Law No. 23/2014, and laws and regulations overlapping, particularly those related to the implementation of DG Forest Planology Regulation No. P.5/2012..

Abstract

Mostly, there are many factors that cause erosion as follow rainfall, construction and agricultural activities. All these factors refered to uncontrol human activities. The global impacts erosion and sedimentation include disturbance ecosystem, sedimentation in rivers basins and reservoirs and increase emission potential. High erosion can be reduce soil nutrient, organic matters and water availability. The study used USLE method to determine erosion and sedimentation. To measure the effectiveness vegetative planting, we used spatial analysis. The result of spatial analysis show that around 8.58 ton/year of sediment in Limboto lake. The result sediment from Alo Sub-Watershed, Molamahu, Pulubala and Batulayar that contribute sediment around 3.8 million tons/year in Limboto watershed. In region of northern and southern sub watershed such as Pone, Marisa, Biyonga, Talumelito, Tulandenggi, Pilolalenga, Payunga and Tabongo that contribute erosion dan sediment around 5,95 ton/year in Limboto lake, Topodu rivers and Tomini Bay. According erosion classification, Limboto watershed area is dominated very heavy erosion around 29.28%. To control erosion and sedimentation, the land should be restoration reaches 55.82% or 49.892 ha through re-vegetation around 18.30% or 16.362 and develop agroforestry system around 37.51% or 33.530 ha of total Limboto watershed area. The effectiveness of activities revegetation and develop agroforestry system is able to control erosion until 89.56%

Abstract

Senaru Village is one of the villages that has the potential to be developed both in terms of tourism, nature and the environment. This village is located in Bayan District, North Lombok Regency. Senaru village is a tourism village that is visited by many local and foreign tourists. In this village there is plastic waste that has not received further treatment. Plastic waste is a type of inorganic waste that takes 1000 years to completely decompose by the soil. In addition, Senaru Village is also one of the areas that has a lot of cashew fruit, but the utilization of cashew fruit by the surrounding community is still quite limited, namely the processing is still focused on the seeds while the meat has not been used optimally and some even throw it away as waste. Therefore, with this article, the author aims to invite the public to use and process plastic waste into ecobricks that have aesthetic value and utilize and process cashew meat into shreds that have a selling value to help the community's economy.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the vulnerability of coastal communities to climate change in eastern lombok district by examining exposure, sensitivity and adaptation capacity in ten coastal villages in East Lombok regency. The basic concept of the implementation of this study was constructed qualitatively, using a participatory approach. The method of study was adopted from the PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal) method with adjustments to coastal and marine context contexts called Indonesian climath adaptation tools for coastal habitat (I-CATCH). The results of this study indicate that most of the villages that are the focus of the implementation of this study have moderate to high vulnerability levels. The impact of the occurrence of climate disaster sufficient to burden the community both from the physical, social, and economic aspects. Thus, it takes a systematic planning and integrated with existing policies to ensure its implementation in the field

Abstract

Green open space is an area that has a function as well as a place to grow plants, both those that grow naturally and are planted. One way to improve environmental quality and revitalize urban ecosystems is by managing the Green Open Space. One of the alternatives supporting this effort is to make supportive and applicable policies, laws, and regulations. This research was conducted to examine the implementation of Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2015 regarding Green Open Space Management in Mataram City and to find out planning strategies in optimizing the implementation of applicable policies. The method used in this research is literature study method, interview, and observation. In this study, six criteria are used based on William N. Dunn's theory to analyze policies and SWOT analysis to determine the appropriate management strategy. The policy implementation analysis results show that the implementation of these regional regulations falls into the "medium" category with a score of 2.13. This indicates that several indicators need to be tightened to optimize policies' effectiveness, so it is necessary to revise policies to maximize implementation. Several strategies that can be carried out to maximize the role of stakeholders are disseminating information about the content of local regulations that are applied to all related parties, explaining the programs that will be implemented to create a common understanding for all parties as a whole based on the objectives to be achieved, optimizing local regulations which applies to improve coordination in the implementation of green open space management which aims to maximize the role between agencies to create adequate technical personnel, facilities and infrastructure and synchronize the main tasks and functions of each agency in implementing green open space management to maximize their respective roles.
