Abstract

 ABSTRACT The research about determination of Cu(II) by adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV) was conducted. AdSV method was applied to the determination of copper in ultra trace concentration. The parameters of ligand, accumulation potential, accumulation time, pH and ligand concentration was studied. Calcon was found as complexing agent that give the highest peak current. The optimum condition are accumulation potential -0,7 V, accumulation time 60 s, pH 10, and calcon concentration 0.12 mM. The relative standar deviation (n=8) at 10 µg/L standard concentration were obtained 4,27 %. This method was applied to determination of Cu(II) in sample from Batang Air Dingin, Lubuk Minturun and Muara Padang. The sample concentration were 4,778 µg/L and 5,189 µg/L for Batang Air Dingin and Muara Padang, respectively. The recovery of this method was studied for sample from Muara Padang and 98,31 % was obtained. Key words :   Adsorptive, Stripping, Voltammetry, Calcon and Copper

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian mengenai analisis kandungan logam Cd, Cu, Cr dan Pb dalam air laut telah dilakukan di sekitar perairan Bungus, Teluk Kabung, Kota Padang dengan menggunakan metode ekstraksi pelarut. Hasil penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan logam, Cu, Cr dan Pb dan sebarannya di perairan Bungus. Sampel sebanyak 200 mL diekstraksi dengan larutan pengompleks ammonium pyrolidin ditiokarbamat (APDC) jenuh sebanyak 2 mL dalam 7 mL metil isobutyl keton (MIBK) dan diekstrak kembali dengan 5 mL larutan HNO3 4M, larutan diukur absorbannya dengan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom (SSA). Pengambilan sampel air laut dilakukan sebanyak 6 lokasi yaitu di sekitar Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera, pantai Carolin, Depot Pertamina, Teluk Pandan, UPTD BBIP (Balai Benih Ikan Pantai) Teluk Buo dan di laut lepas, dimana tiap lokasi diambil 2 titik sampel dengan jarak antar titik sekitar 100 m dengan dua kali pengambilan. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa kandungan logam Cd berkisar antara 0,006 0,01 ppm, Cu antara 0,0058 0,0720 ppm, Cr antara 0,0170 - 0,0890 ppm dan kandungan logam Pb berkisar antara 0,06 0,09 ppm. Menurut Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup No. 51 Tahun 2004 kandungan logam Cr dan Pb telah melampaui standar baku mutu air laut yaitu 0,001 ppm sedangkan kandungan logam Cd dan Cu belum melampaui standar baku mutu air laut. Kata Kunci : ekstraksi pelarut, APDC, MIBK dan SSAABSTRACTResearch on metal concentrations of Cd, Cu, Cr and Pb was analyzed in sea water around Bungus, Teluk Kabung, Padang City by utilizing solvent extraction method. The research was conducted to see metal contents and their distribution in Bungus. Sample of 200 ml was extracted with 2 ml solution of saturated ammonium pyrolidine dithiocarbamate (APCD) in 7 ml methyl isobutyl ketone (IBK) and being extracted again with 5 ml HNO3 4M. Solution was measured its absorbance by using Atomic Absorbtion Spectroscopy (AAS). Sea water samples was taken in six locations; around Samudera Fishery Port, Carolin Beach, gas station, Pandan Bay, UPTD BBIP Buo Bay and in the sea, 2 sampling points were set with 100 m distance between each point. Results show the range of Cd concentration was 0.006-0.01 ppm, Cu was 0.0058-0.0720 ppm, Cr was 0.0170-0.0890 ppm and Pb was 0.06-0.09 ppm. Compared with the regulation of Environment Ministry number 51 Year 2004, concentrations of Cr and Pb exceeded the quality standard of sea water of 0.001 ppm. On the other hand, Cd and Cu concentrations were found below the sea water quality standard.Keywords: AAS, APCD, MIBK, solvent exraction

Abstract

Waste bank management in the Nagari Ulakan community needs to be done as a solution in waste reduction, waste management and processing. The increase in tourists will increase the amount of waste in Nagari Ulakan. the problem is not the amount of waste but the disposal, management and processing of waste which is a serious problem and must be handled properly in Nagari. The purpose of this community service activity is the existence of a waste bank can provide the best solution in achieving the target of waste reduction in Nagari Ulakan, Kecamatan Tapakis, Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. The waste bank management is carried out to support the Go Green Concept through counselling on the socialization of the waste bank, the usefulness, and the stages of the preparation process for forming a waste bank. In this counselling introduced types of waste, waste sorting processes, examples of paper and plastic waste processing. The activity was followed by mentioning at the stage of forming a waste bank management and waste bank operations. The results of this activity are the reduction of waste and the formation of a waste bank in Nagari Ulakan and increasing public awareness of waste management.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze farming income and sustainability of farming practices of coffee certification farmers and coffee non-certification farmers in Tanggamus Regency.  This research used survey method.  The numbers of samples in this research were 44 respondents of certification farmers and 24 respondents of non-certification farmers.  The data was collected from August 2017 to November 2017.  The data was analyzed by quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis.  The results showed that farming income of certification farmers were higher than non-certification farmers.  Socially and environmental sustainable farming practices of certification farmers were more sustainable than non-certification farmers.  Sustainability of economy, social and environmental aspects of certification farmers were more sustainable than non-certification farmers.  Total of farming income of certification farmers and non-certification farmers were Rp16,330,309 per hectare and Rp10,637,482 per hectare.  About 93.20% of certification farmers’s farming were sustainable, while about 91.70% of non-certification farmers’s farming were quite sustainable. Key words: certification, coffee, farming, sustainability

Abstract

Seberang Padang Village, South Padang District, is next to Padang City, which has approximately 200 families. This location is a crossing area between Padang-Painan, in West Sumatra. The community consists of two existing traditional markets that sell daily necessities. Besides that, there is also one elementary school, two junior high schools, and one high school. The global Covid-19 pandemic certainly affects the community's daily activities and learning activities, including children, elementary school students, middle and high school students, and the village community to fulfil their basic needs. Furthermore, the main problem of Covid-19 is not only about the effects caused by the virus on sufferers but also about its high-speed transmission. Therefore, to educate the community around the Seberang Padang village, several Chemistry Lecturers and students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Andalas University did a community engagement. They taught the community about making disinfectants and hand sanitizers without alcohol that can overcome the occurrence of Covid-19 transmission. In addition, face masks were provided for the community, and the alms of food for underprivileged residents to push down the negative impact of Covid-19.

Abstract

3-Dimensional Roll Work technology training by processing waste paper into high-value handicraft products has been carried out in Nagari Lareh Nan Panjang, Padang Pariaman Regency. Most of the productive age groups in this area were unemployed women who depend on their husband's income for a living. In other hand, the activities of women's farmer groups, youth groups and (Family Welfare Movement) PKK were not productive. This activity aims to foster and empower community groups, especially women, in managing and processing paper waste into high selling value products with 3-Dimensional Roll Work technology that can be used as business opportunities so as to increase household income. The activity began with counseling on the dangers of paper waste for health and the environment, and continued by 3-dimensional Roll Work training. The indicator of the achievement of the targeted community service program was the management and processing of paper waste where each participant can produce quality handicraft products, namely key chains and accessories, while for other handicraft products, it was continued for group activities such as tissue, accessories, and cake boxes. This activity can be used as a sustainable empowerment effort through increasing community participation, self-financing and community self-help so as to create economically independent women in Nagari Lareh Nan Panjang.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai kualitas air minum di beberapa rumah makan sekitar Air Tawar Kota Padang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas air minum yang disediakan rumah makan tersebut terhadap parameter pH, TDS, COD, besi, kesadahan total, kandungan bakteri E.Coli dan Coliform. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara periode setiap minggu analisis selama empat minggu. Pengukuran pH dilakukan dengan menggunakan pHmeter dengan nilai pH yang didapatkan berkisar antara 6,58-8,33. Total padatan terlarut (TDS) dianalisis dengan metode gravimetri, nilai yang diperoleh berkisar 70-680 mg/L. Untuk kebutuhan oksigen kimia (COD) dilakukan dengan metode titrasi permanganometri diperoleh nilai berkisar antara 0,2-0,9 mg/L. Kandungan logam besi dilakukan dengan menggunakan spektrofotometri visible dengan panjang gelombang 520 nm, nilai Fe yang didapat berkisar 0,0996-0,1980 mg/L. Tingkat kesadahan total dianalisis dengan metode titrasi kompleksometri nilai yang dihasilkan berkisar 39,8358-302,1114 mg/L. Sementara untuk parameter bakteriologis yaitu bakteri E.Coli dan Coliform dilakukan dengan metode Most Probable Number (MPN) atau angka paling mungkin. Nilai MPN pada E.Coli diperoleh antara 21-240 per 100 mL sampel, sedangkan untuk bakteri Coliform diperoleh nilai berkisar antara 27-240 per 100 mL sampel. Nilai tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kualitas air minum dikategorikan kurang bagus. Berdasarkan hasill pengujian secara total terhadap parameter di atas, dapat diketahui bahwa kualitas air minum di beberapa rumah makan tersebut belum memenuhi kualitas standar yang ditetapkan oleh Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia Nomor 907/MENKES/SK/VII/2002. Abstract

The main objective of this study is to examine, with a comprehensive systematic approach and framework for the analysis of the economic feasibility and methodology of the application of bamboo forest biomass technology as renewable energy for the environment and sustainable regional development.This study was conducted in the subdistricts of South Siberut and Central Siberut, Mentawai Islands district, West Sumatra, as an example for the economic development of underdeveloped areas that have bamboo forests suitable for renewable energy materials.The result is a sustainanle supply chain of renewable energy development that addresses technical complexity, economic scale, capital costs, and renewable energy funding challenges, for small to medium-sized projects and not connected to off-grid networks

Abstract

The focus of this research is: Professional Performance of Teachers in State Senior High Schools in Ternate City. Based on the focus of the research, the problems were formulated: (1) How is the Professional Performance of Teachers of SMA Negeri Kota Ternate (2) What factors hinder the professional performance of teachers of SMA Negeri Kota Ternate (3) What efforts are made to overcome the factors that hinder the professional performance of teachers of SMA Negeri Kota Ternate. This research uses research methods that are based on holistic, complex, dynamic, and meaningful. The data collected is not numerical but qualitative. The results of this study are: (1) Professional Performance of Teachers of State Senior High School of Ternate City is good (2) Factors that hinder the professional performance of teachers of State Senior High School of Ternate City are based on the data obtained that there is still a lack of facilities and infrastructure, the teacher's late step to school. There are several teachers in the mastery of making lesson plans and syllabus is still minimal. IT mastery in order to educate students better and get quality that can compete with other regions. (3) Efforts made to overcome the factors that hinder the professional performance of teachers in public high schools in Ternate City, namely the need for cooperation with the government and schools in Ternate City. Coordinating with the government so that there is serious attention to the development of SMA Negeri Kota Ternate. Based on these conclusions, it is recommended that: (1) commitment as a teacher should be followed by high enthusiasm in advancing themselves by adding books supporting lessons. (2) it is necessary to collaborate with the government and with schools in Ternate City to overcome the lack of facilities and infrastructure so that students do not miss the subjects taught by teachers. (3) the principal should provide guidance and motivation that can spur the spirit of the teachers.

Abstract

Paper waste is the most common waste generated from academic activities on the Andalas University campus. So far, paper waste is allowed to accumulate and then sold by cleaners to waste collectors or burned. This activity aims to increase women's resources and potential through Qulling Paper technology with promising business opportunities, especially for cleaning workers. This activity was carried out from July to September 2022, with the target participants being cleaners with direct contact with paper waste. The method used is counseling about the dangers of paper waste to the environment and health, which ends with discussions and interviews to determine the level of knowledge of cleaning workers about the management and processing of paper waste. The activity continued with paper waste processing training through paper quilling technology by practicing directly until the participants could produce a craft product. Mentoring activities for participants are also carried out by guiding them until they are skilled at producing craft products worth selling. In this training activity, all activity participants can produce handicraft products that have high selling value and are economical. Paper waste processing training for cleaners is one of the most appropriate solutions for reducing the amount of paper waste on the Andalas University campus and, at the same time, improving skills. It is hoped that this activity can increase knowledge and skills and reduce the amount of paper waste in the Andalas University campus environment.
